Sam was lying in the bed and when there was a knock on the door. He got up and opened to see Mia standing outside. "I had trouble sleeping and thought maybe we can talk", Mia told her reason of coming. He invited her inside, "Did I disturb your sleep?". Sam gestured her to sit on the bed and himself sat next to her.
"In this big place you can't avoid but feel lonely", replying to her queries Sam smiled. The palace was big but so far all he had seen were servants and soldiers. Anyone would get bored if they couldn't chat with another person. "I am guessing you don't have many friends", Sam saw Mia's lonely expression.
"Will you tell me your other stories?", Mia found Sam's stories amusing and wanted to hear more. "Sure, Let's see, one day my master and I took on a quest to clear a goblin's nest...", he continued telling her stories while adding spice to the mix. Mia's expression would light up and excitement could be seen on her face.
"Tell me Mia, do you know everything about the palace", Sam wanted to dug information regarding the voice Sei heard. "Of course! I live here", Mia said this with a proud expression. "Why do you ask?". Sam didn't know how to ask but he was sure he couldn't ask it directly so he started leading her, "like have you heard any voice, umm like calling you?".
Mia was puzzled at this question. "You know like I left the bath area but got lost and wandered to the second floor of that building and saw two soldiers in black armour. I wanted to ask them for direction and followed them but found myself in a dark corridor. That is when I heard a voice", he explained it to her.
After thinking for sometime Mia said, "The soldiers in black armour are special security forces. Do not wander here and there. If they catch you you will be put in prison and even I couldn't do anything". Aside from that I have nothing to tell you.
Hearing this Sam thought maybe she just didn't knew anything. "Maybe I was imagining. I must be an idiot, haha", Sam tried to act flustered and clumsy. Mia laughed at this and they continued talking for sometime.
"Sometimes I wish I can leave this place and roam freely", Mia said this while watching out the window. In the distance, light from burning torch and soldiers movement could be see. The moonlight trickle through the window and onto her. Sam saw her carefully and realizes that beneath her beauty it was just her and her loneliness.
"Do you want to leave that bad?", unknowingly Sam sympathized with her and the words just came out. Mia was caught of guard and couldn't reply but stare at him. "Hello, princess", Sam tired bringing her attention to himself and Mia got flustered.
"I am sorry to show this side of me. Please forget it. Have a good night", Mia got up and left the room. "I can't understand them", Sam said this and again laid on the bed.
The next morning when the sun was just rising and sky was red, Sam left his room and slowly made way to that place. 'What do you feel now', no soldier were present for which he was grateful. [It is weaker than yesterday but I can definitely feel something pulling me], Sei explained his position.
'Hmm, it doesn't seem there is a secret entrance or door', Sam searched the entire corridor for any clue. The corridor was 50m long and 4m wide and there was no room or any object or painting on the wall. Sam also felt that the corridor was odd for it was totally empty.
Sam was so busy that he didn't notice someone standing behind him. The person touched Sam's shoulder sending Sam jumping forward. Turning around he saw Mia standing. "Like I thought you were up to somthing when you asked that question", Mia asked for an explanation.
Sam didn't know what to say and tried acting like an idiot. "Your idiot acting is not working", Mia huffed and crossed her arms in angry pose. "Like I told you I am searching if there is any ghost behind this wall", Sam straightened and told her. "Hmm, ghost. This is the first time I heard anyone bringing that up", Mia closely inspected the wall. "There doesn't seem to be anything . What are you looking for?".
"A door or anything of the sort", Sam was also not sure wat to do now.
"O Great spirit of Thymes, show the power of blessing and reveal that is hidden from reality", Mia chanted a spell. Her hand formed a mark which glowed and the wall in front of them got cracked and destroyed in many pieces. "Like I thought an illusion. Let's go", Mia grabbed Sam's hand and pulled him before he could comprehend anything.
"What did you do?" Sam asked. Mia didn't bother replying and continued moving. [Hoh a spirit master], Sei commented. 'What is a spirit master', before he could get any answer they arrive din front of a door. It had lot of inscriptions written in an unknown language.
"Look there is handprint", Mia put her hands on the impression and the door started shaking and slowly opened. Too fast. Sam thought that everything was happening too fast. What luck this girl has.
"Let's go", they entered a room. It was covered in dust and spider webs. "Looks like it hasn't been opened for many years", looking around they found the room filled with books, strange apparatus made of glass, like the on that chemistry labs have, some weapons and other junk.
"It looks more like a trashroom", Sam commented after seeing the state of the room. at one corner there was a study desk. "First mage, Gran Firel", picking up the diary that was present on it Mia read the first page. "Looks like some mage's journal", Mia commented.
'What happened to you? Why are you silent now', Sam asked Sei. Sei was not silent but he was trying to read the magic flow in the room. It was spiraled like a ball of tangled yarns. Slowly and slowly unfolding it Sei reached to its depth.
Suddenly wind started blowing in the room and slowly the room was cleared of the dust and webs. [Go to that shelf. There is a crystal pendant there], Sam followed Sei's orders and found a pendant with a crystal filled with a liquid.
'What is this?', Sam saw the liquid freely moving inside the crystal and asked an explanation. [Tears of Nemori dragon. It is used to collect memories and allows the consumer to experience those memories. For now hide it], Mia approached Sam and asked what did he found. "Nothing but still these all look very valuable", pointing towards the journals kept on the shelf.
"Hmm, let's take them with us", they collected any valuables from the place they could and left.
When they reached the original corridor, the wall built itself again and everything was covered.
