Sam slowly opened his eyes and found Rose sleeping while resting her head on his shoulder. Tucking her hair away from her face, Sam was mesmerised by her beauty.
"She looks so beautiful, so innocent".
He continued staring at her for a few moment when his attention was caught by a shadow behind the door. He slowly shook Rose to wake her up and focused on what was happening outside.
"They have caught an intruder", one soldier spoke. "Of course, breaking in and out of the palace while on our watch is impossible ", another soldier added. 'Who have they caught? Please God let it not be them'.
Rose slowly rubbed her eyes and saw Sam looking at her real close. Her face turned red and she immediately tried standing but her legs had fallen asleep causing her to lose balance and fall into Sam's embrace.
*Badum *Badum In the silent room, their hearts were beating faster and faster the longer they held to each other. Slowly they started to lean in closer and Sam found himself going in for a kiss but stopped himself and seperated from her.
Rose was also flustered and didn't knew how to behave so found herself fumbling with her hairs.
[Why did you stop you naughty boy. A real man goes in whenever he gets a chance]
'I couldn't do it when someone I know is peeping', Sam explained his frustration. He had no privacy which he now needed more than ever.
[Don't be sad. If you tell me in advance I will close my eyes before and you can enjoy yourself] Sei was enjoying teasing Sam. The reason he had been silent till now was this only.
'How can I believe you?', he was sure that Sei was just playing and is a peeper like how he had scanned his previous life memories.
[You break my heart partner. Remember all the hard times we both lived and overcame together and you still can't believe in me], emotional blackmailing Sam had always worked.
'Until you promise me', but Sam didn't budge and Sei had to give up and promised to give Sam privacy whenever he asked.
Turning his attention towards a shy Rose, "We should go and search other rooms. We can use the darkness as a cover". They both exited the room and continued their search for Haru and Melodia.
"I hope you are not caught", he was getting restless now. They entered a big hall which had a large table in the middle with lots of chairs around it. This must be the dining hall, Sam thought seeing the setup.
His stomach growled on the mention of food and was embarassed for a minute. "Let's see if we can find anything to eat", he told Rose and started looking for the kitchen.
A back door at the end of the hall lead to a small corridor which was connected to a big room.
The room was filled with many food items most likely from the last meal. Going around they scavenged for anything that can still be eaten. They found noodles, soup, chicken, bread, salad.
"Woah, I have never eaten noodles this tasty. Even this looks so good. Surely the palace food is one step above anything. So tasty", Sam greedily ate the delicacies.
{It's like we are having our own feast}, Rose enjoyed the food and also the sight of Sam eating.
"You are right, Rose", Sam wholeheartedly agreed to her.
"I guess I should become a King and live in a palace and eat delicious dishes like this everyday", he was in love with the food.
'Good idea, Sam. You become the king, I will support you and we will TOGETHER EAT DELICIOUS FOOD', Ryuu's excitement was also high after seeing the food.
{ What do we do now? We have searched for them so long but still not found them. }, Rose concern were right and the longer they remained here the greater their chances of getting caught and sent straight to the prison or even hanged.
"For now even I am not sure what to do", Sam replied. He was at a crossroad, keep searching or abandon his friends. 'Have you still not found any signs of them Sei'.
The holy barrier was put in order that no intruder can harm royal family by using energy searching. Even the palace was built like a maze to trap intruders with various traps in place. But Sam was unaware that Rose had been guiding him away from traps.
