Yawning and stretching the monster baby opened his eyes slowly and curiously looked around. In front of him Carl, to his side Sam and his team mates stood. Seeing them the monster let out a small coo and with a playful smile swiped his hand's. Carl felt uneven feeling in his guts and immediately jumped very far away.
The place in front of the monster was carved clean as if shaved away by a giant blade. The destruction was too big and fear filled in the heart's of everyone present there. Carl was saved due to his countless battle experiences. But this monster was a very bad news and Carl immediately fired warning shots in the air drawing everyone's attention.
"All A rank adventurers follow the signal, all B-rank adventurers must form a defensive circle with others in center and wait here", saying this Leon moved in the direction of signal.
Sam who was feeling pain in his chest was suddenly cured dared not to move from the place in fear that the monster's attention be brought towards them. Melodia had already drawn her bow and Haru also had opened his grimoire. Carl signaled them not to move or make any rash decision. Complete silence filled the place and every one who reached the place hid their presence and waited in shadow.
[Wolf of the Phantom World], Sei couldn't help but say this after seeing the attack.
'Ryuu, explain yourself', Sam asked why Ryuu warned him.
'Humans call it wolf of the phantom world. Only handful of them have fought him and won to tell its tale. That much deadly it is. As you stand now you have no chance of defeating him so it is better you turn away and run as fast as you can without looking back no matter what', Ryuu's voice had an uneven seriousness.
Sam gulped in fear. All the A rank adventurers had arrived by now and everyone could felt the chilling aura coming from the monster. Even though it was a baby but their experience were telling that it was capable of wide scale slaughter. Just that much deadly it was.
The monster now stood on its feet and let out a loud howling which sent terror in the hearts of all the dungeon monsters and they all stopped everything, even their breathing for a second.
Leon knew what kind of trouble they were in now and they have to fight for their lives. Secretly sending signal for everyone to get ready for fighting and to watch the next move of the monster, Leon now only concentrated on the monster.
Carl who was in direct line of sight had already drawn tons of battle plans from all his experience. His tails raised directly up and with small kick he jumped in the sky getting a bird's view of the battlefield. Seeing so many people releasing bloodlust the monster grew ecstatic and his heart started beating faster.
Landing the wolf howled once again this time ringing the sound of battle and attacked Carl. Carl had already figured that he will be the first one to be attacked and thus had done his preparation. Carl's element was ' Lightning'. He used it to accelerate and attack at the speed of 30 m/s. The speed of strike created two pressure waves which collapsed to release a large burst of energy capable of vaporizing the enemy.
With lightning acceleration Carl took the wolf's attack head on and nullified it. Knowing there is no second chance he threw a light bomb and escaped outside of calculated attack range of the wolf. This only pissed the wolf child more and he used his blood magic.
There was a reason they were called phantom monster because their bloodline allowed them to mix with the darkness of the night. All the presence would be erased and they can attack freely. An ability that allowed it to hunt preys while increasing its fear which made hunting for them all the more better.
Slowly the monster disappeared in the night which made everyone more nervous and fear now gripped their hearts more tightly.
For the child wolf the fun was only beginning.
