Chapter 45 - CHAPTER 45

Sigh... I can't believe she is this dumb. Is it because of her current emotions? Or is she just pretending she doesn't know anything? Either way, I have no idea.

"You have to understand, Bella. Once a vampire meets their soulmate, the thought of a single moment without each other becomes unbearable."

Bella went silent for a moment, seemingly absorbing what I had just said, so I continued.

"Same goes for Edward; he never had a thought of leaving your side. But imagine if you were in his position, what would you do? Not only does he want to protect you, but also the people around you. What if Charlie gets hurt? What if something happened to your friends because of you? Have you ever thought about that?"

After hearing what I had just said, Bella slumped to the ground and stared blankly at the dirt. She then looked towards me with a pained expression and said,

"How long do I have to wait? How many days? Hours? I can't live without him... When he left, it feels as if something inside me was taken away and now it's empty..."

I just smiled, then turned my head towards my house and said, "There's a saying: Loving someone without seeing them every day is proof that love does not come from the eyes, but from the heart."

"Do you know how long Alice has been waiting for me? Do you know how it felt waiting for someone for dozens of years? Do you know how her feelings were?"

I asked Bella, but she just stayed silent and looked down at the dirt again. I just smiled and shook my head.

"The same goes for Edward, he has been waiting for you his whole life. Do you even realize how his feelings were when he finally met you? When he finally embraced you? And all of a sudden, he had to leave in order to protect you? Are your feelings for him even genuine?"

Bella looked at me again with widened eyes, "I-I..."

"Someone once said, the longer you wait for something, the more you appreciate it when you get it. Because anything worth having is always worth the wait."

"And the most beautiful form of love is waiting, the deeper the wait, the deeper the love. I hope you understand what I meant, Bella."

"Then, what am I going to do while I await his return? I am nothing without him, without all of you around me to keep me company."

I summoned two items out of nowhere, which startled her, and offered them to her. Then, I said with a serious tone,

"I have prepared these two items for you."

"How did you- never mind, is that Edward's wristband? And some type of medieval sword? What am I supposed to do with these?"

"Indeed, this wristband is quite special. It can display Edward's illusion, but you can only use it twice a week," I said, while showing her the illusion of Edward standing still in front of us and remaining silent.

As you may have guessed, this wristband is not ordinary. This wristband is something I personally created using Edward's wristband and his hair. However, it's a pity that this item is not perfect. If Edward were human, I could make the illusion even more lively and longer with his blood. But since Edward is a vampire, he no longer has blood. Therefore, I used just a few strands of his hair, resulting in the item not being that remarkable.

"Wow, it looks so much like Edward," Bella exclaimed, surprised.

I then stopped the illusion and said, "You can use it at the expense of your mental power. What I mean is that every time you use it, you'll feel dizzy and there's a possibility of getting a nosebleed."

After I said that, I thought Bella would be disappointed. But instead, I saw her eyes filled with excitement and sparkle. I even saw her expression full of hope.

Sigh... what a stupid girl. I gestured for her to look at the sword and said, "You've been mentioning that you wanted to be strong."

Bella suddenly wore a serious expression and nodded, "Yes... but how do I become strong with that sword? I've never handled one before. It's impossible."

I just shook my head at her and said, "Watch."

I then stepped a couple of feet away from her. I held the sword and stared at the tree in front of me. I casually slashed the tree horizontally.

*Slash*

*Creek*

*Boom*

The tree was slashed and fell to the ground with just one swing from me. I then glanced at Bella, who had a shocked expression, and approached her.

"Nothing is impossible."

"W-With just a slash, the tree..." Bella said, closing her mouth with her hand.

"Now, it's time for you to choose between these two: Edward's wristband, which can project an illusion of him so that you can stare at him doing nothing. This may be good for you if you intend to do nothing with your life."

Bella gazed at the wristband with a complex expression.

"Or, you can choose this sword. Train with this sword until he comes back and surprise him with your accomplishments. And become strong so that you can protect him when the time comes, not only protecting him, but also protecting Charlie and your friends. Do you desire to be strong, right? Or is it just wishful thinking?"

"I-I..."

I'm just smiling while watching her struggle to choose. It is between her greed or desire. Which one will win?

Then, after what felt like an eternity for her, she finally breathed calmly and stared at me with determined eyes.

She approached me and then took the sword from my right hand. I smiled at her and said,

"When you're about to give up, remember this: Within the realm of challenge lies the crucible of resilience. Surrender not to the tempest of adversity, for in the forge of persistence, the spirit refines itself with the mettle of tenacity."
