Chapter 49 - CHAPTED 49

"Besides, I want you to go to Scotland first," Mikael said, while trying to calm Alice.

"What do you mean?" Alice asked, her tone confused.

"I want you to look for information about my uncle, the Duke, and everything surrounding him. Find everything about him, but you have to always stay low and not be too obvious while doing it."

Alice, who grew more confused, asked again, "Shouldn't it be better if we do it together?"

Mikael shook his head and replied, "No, by the time I arrived there, my uncle would definitely send his men to escort us. And if that were to happen, we wouldn't have enough information regarding everything that happens surrounding my uncle."

"I see..." Alice nodded, realizing that the idea was not bad and she could easily do it.

Alice then stared at Mikael with a determined look and said, "Alright, I'll do it. But promise me you'll be careful."

Mikael smiled and nodded at her, "Of course, come, let's pack your belongings."

With their inhuman speed, they were able to pack her belongings in just a few minutes. Alice prepared herself by putting on casual clothes and glasses. As she got ready, Mikael glanced at the storage ring on his right hand and closed his eyes.

After a few seconds, Mikael opened his eyes and saw a pair of earrings in his right hand. The earrings were not eye-catching; they looked very simple and boring. However, these earrings were not ordinary earrings.

"The Blissful Palace's Divine earrings."

Mikael said with a nostalgic look on his face. These earrings were once used by the matriarch of the Blissful Palace, who was a breathtaking beauty in Murim. Mikael encountered her when he was traveling and almost became trapped within the Palace because her enchanting spell was extraordinary. Fortunately, he managed to break the spell and had to flee from there.

When he first traveled to the world of Murim, he was reckless, naive, and curious. With only a few words from a beauty, he was enchanted and almost led to his demise. Fortunately, he escaped in time. Ever since then, he promised revenge on her. During the war between the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult and the Murim Alliance, he managed to get his revenge on her. Surprisingly, the sinful and weak Blissful Palace hides such treasure.

The Blissful Palace's Divine Earrings. At that time, Mikael didn't know the name of this heavenly treasure, and he still doesn't know it until now. Therefore, he simply named them based on the place where he found them.

As you may have suggested, this pair of earrings is indeed a heavenly treasure. Mikael discovered that these earrings could withstand his attacks, even when he was a stage nine martial artist, the highest stage in Murim. In simple terms, they could withstand the force of a meteor.

"Mikael, I'm ready."

When he heard Alice, Mikael snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her with a serious expression.

"I have a gift for you, my love."

Alice was surprised by the sudden gift from Mikael and couldn't help but jump at him with a happy face. Mikael then presented the earrings to her and said, "Here."

Alice then tried to put on the earrings, but she had difficulty doing so. So Mikael helped her and said in a serious tone, "Always wear these earrings, never let them go from your body."

Alice nodded in understanding, and after a few kisses and goodbyes, she took Mikael's car and went to the airport.

Watching her go, Mikael entered his house and, a moment later, couldn't help but feel a little lonely. He sighed and reassured himself, "Don't worry, I can sense her presence wherever and whenever. If something were to happen to her, I would immediately go to her."

"Now, I can't fight in Forks because of the people here. I'll have to find a nice open space and lure them out."

After a few moments of thinking, Mikael went to his room and took a bunch of his clothes.

"This should be enough."

Mikael then went to the Cullens' house. After he arrived there, he placed his clothes in the middle of the living room and a few strands of his hair on top of them. Mikael nodded in satisfaction and said, "I hope this will work."

After that, he left the Cullens' house and headed in a specific direction.

[ The ??? Bookstore - Branch 1869 ]

Meanwhile, in the bookstore, the bald man known as Shadow and his assistant can be seen in one of the rooms with soundproof walls.

"Let me go with you," his assistant said, staring at him.

Shadow shook his head and said, "You can't, my love. I want you to keep these coins safe."

His assistant, or should I say, his mate, nodded, lowering her head. Shadow chuckled and said, "I promise, after all of this is done, we'll take a break and go on vacation. With all these coins, it will be enough for a year."

When he said that to her, her face seemed to light up, and she nodded happily.

...

It was in the middle of the night when the Daggers could be seen running through buildings and trees. They were about to arrive in Forks.

"Sir, we're about to arrive in Forks. Should we stick together or split up and search for our target in separate groups?" Josh said as he ran behind his leader, Shadow.

Shadow remains silent, seemingly deep in thought. When they reach the welcoming board of Forks, they abruptly halt. "We'll go together," Shadow declares. "I'll use my ability to cloak all of us, ensuring that the wolves won't be able to detect our scent."

A few moments later, the Daggers can be seen arriving at the Cullens' house. Shadow gestured to his members to check the surroundings and see if there were any traps or something similar. After a few minutes, one of them approached him and shook his head, indicating that there were no traps around them.

Shadow nodded and gestured for Josh and the woman wearing the crow mask from the Eyes to come with him and enter the house. They nodded and followed him, taking careful steps. The woman wearing the crow mask, of course, didn't forget her assignment to record everything live on her device.

Shadow gestured for Josh to search the house, and after only a few seconds, Josh shouted, "Sir, I found something!"
