[ The ??? Bookstore - Branch 1869 - Third Pov ]
We can see the bald man in one of the rooms of the bookstore with an angry expression. One of his members then comes to his room.
"Have you found him?" the bald man asked the member who were standing in front of him.
The member shook his head and said, "Unfortunately, no, sir."
The bald man sighed, he then stood up and said, "Gather everyone."
The member nodded and exited the room. He then went from room to room, delivering his leader's message. The members who were in the room were startled by the sudden order because some of them were enjoying their meal, and others were playing with each other, such as playing cards, chess, and competing in throwing knives. But they immediately dropped everything that they were doing and exited the room.
A moment later, the Daggers and their leader, the bald man, can be seen on the second floor of the bookstore. They were in a spacious room where a round table with a map was placed in the middle. The bald man was seen crossing his arms near the table, wearing a frown on his face. Beside him was his assistant, a woman who always accompanied him, carrying either documents or her laptop. Surrounding them were the members of the Daggers, each wearing a serious expression.
"We'll split into two groups. I'll lead our priority mission."
The bald man then looked at the man in front of him, who wore a confused expression. The bald man then said, "And you, Josh, you have the best sense of smell among us. I want you to lead the rest of the Daggers to hunt Alistair. He won't be too far from the state of Washington. I doubt that he has already left the state."
"I'll take teams one to five, and you take the rest," the bald man said to Josh, who had brown hair, red eyes, pale skin, and was wearing all black clothing.
"When do we leave, sir?" Josh asked his leader.
"You and your teams leave immediately," the bald man said to Josh, who nodded in understanding. Then he left the room, followed by half of the members.
The bald man then nodded to his assistant. He closed his eyes as if he were contemplating something.
The woman, who was his assistant, nodded. She then looked around at the rest of the Daggers' members and said, "We have no information as to why Alistair suddenly decided to abandon his mission. The worst-case scenario is that we have been discovered by the Cullens or perhaps the shape shifters. But there's a little chance of that happening because earlier, we had a visitor from the Eyes who gave us information about the Cullens leaving the state, and they went in a different direction as well."
"So, our best guess is that something happened between them. And this is a good opportunity for us to execute the mission since they were separated. Also, the Eyes said that they didn't spot our target leaving with them. So it's highly likely that he is still in Forks."
The assistant then glances towards her leader and sees that he's still closing his eyes, so she continues, "So, we have made a plan. Some of you will stealthily go to Forks and try to gather as much information as possible, and if the target is still indeed in Forks, we'll head there immediately and execute the mission swiftly."
The members nodded in understanding, but then the bald man opened his eyes.
"No."
The assistant looked at him in confusion. He then glanced around at his members and said, "Alistair is always on the run from the Volturi..."
The assistant, who had a realization in her eyes, suddenly said, "It can't be! It doesn't make sense for them to be there just for Alistair."
The bald man shook his head and said, "Change of plans, we can't risk it. We're not powerful enough to handle the Volturi. And if, by chance, Jane and Alec are there, we'll have no chance of defeating them at all. Unless the Blades were here, then we have a high chance of defeating them."
"And if they are really here for Alistair, they won't take long to find out that Alistair has already left Forks. They have no reason to be there at all. So, we'll wait for them to go, and tonight at midnight, we'll acquire our target and complete the mission."
The assistant and the member of the Daggers nodded in understanding.

( The Cullen's house - MC Pov )
After the Cullens left a few hours ago, well, except for Alice and Edward who are still here, I have been collecting information from Carlisle's extensive years of research and study. There is some useful information, such as covens and shape shifters around the world, some of which are friendly and some of which are not.
Some of the covens were familiar to me because they were mentioned in the movies, such as the Denali's, the Egyptian coven, Irish coven, and the Amazon coven. Some of them were new to me, such as the Mexican coven, French coven, Hilda's coven, Monterrey coven, etc.
And to my surprise, I thought the shape shifters were only in Forks because it was shown that way in the movies. I remembered that I didn't read the book at all, so I don't know that there's also another packs of shape shifters in this world. And I've only known them until now.
But Carlisle didn't study them deeply and only scratched the surface. So, I don't know where they are, how many there are, and what history they possess in this world.
Because of the lack of information and history about the shape shifters, I decided to investigate the covens around the world. Then, I came across Carlisle's study that he wrote.
[ In the devastating conquest of the Volturi against the other covens, it left a bitter taste in our world. Some of us live in fear because of them, and some even committed suicide because they couldn't endure the torture of living in the shadow of the Volturi.
However, some covens managed to hold against them and even fought back. It left a deep wound on the Volturi's eternal reign in our world. The Volturi were forced to retreat to their fortress in Volterra, Italy. But the wound the Volturi left for some of us has never healed; we still live in fear of them, even though they were defeated.
We have no idea how these covens managed to hold back and fight against the Volturi; it still remains a mystery even to us. However, based on the rumors that have spread in our world, it is said that they consisted of only two covens: the Greek and the Nordic Coven... ]
