Chapter 32 - Hurry

Mystic

Today was another exhausting one, especially after both I and Myst had to drag both Kylan and Holden out of the queen's quarters.

I shake my head in amusement, recalling the funny incidents. I turn my head to my side to glance at Myst, whose face had a neutral expression as usual. Before I could help it, I had already begun making comparisons between her stern and strict attitude to Kylan's carefree and lousy character.

They are so different from one another, which makes me wonder how they both ended up as a couple.

I'm still lost in my thoughts when I hear her say, "have a question to ask me?"

I blink, immediately turning away before clearing my throat, cheeks burning in embarrassment.

She caught me staring.

After much thought, I finally give it a shot. Curious, I finally open my mouth to ask her the question which had been bugging me.

With deliberate steps as we walked towards my Chambers, I finally asked.

"When did you both get married?" I ask.

She pauses for a few seconds, but then carries on walking again like as though she hadn't heard me.

Perhaps I should drop this question, this wasn't the right time to ask this question. I open my mouth to apologise for asking her such a question in the first place, but she beats me to it.

"We're not married yet." Came her calm yet simple reply.

I stop walking, my head goes blank.

"What... but then..." I couldn't even form a proper sentence at the moment.

"The right word to address him as is soulmate, but I prefer to address him as my husband." She answers, refusing to turn over a shoulder to look at me.

I take deep breaths, before walking ahead of her, leading the way temporarily.

I turn to her with a small smile, eyes merry. "When do you plan to take things to the next level?" I ask her, stopping in front of my Chambers.

She stares down at her hands, cheeks red. For the first time, I'm seeing Myst blush, was this real?

"When all of this is over, it's not compulsory though, but Kylan wanted this so.."

I smile, "goodluck." She nods, taking her leave.

I turn towards the entrance of my Chambers, and then proceed to go in.

Once I'm in, I proceed to move towards my shell like designed bed.

With a deep intake of breath, I sit on it.

Everything is happening so fast, I'm not sure I can keep track of it.

I shut my eyes closed, trying to clear my mind.

Slowly, the air in the room shifts. I feel another presence apart from mine. Shooting my eyes open as quick as I had mustered, before drawing my dagger from the sheath at my right hip. Pointing it at the source of the presence.

"Woah! Hey! Hey!!" A familiar frightened voice cries out, as I hold my dagger at its throat.

I blink, "Jax?"

Talk about surprised, I was still in shock.

Jax had been away for a week now. He had gone to his spirit realm to train strong enough to be able to fight in a war.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, slowly redrawing my dagger from his neck. He releases a heavy sigh of relief, before falling to my bed.

His aura had changed greatly, compared to how they were when we first arrived.

"Answer the question." I say, sheathing the dagger.

He looks up at me, "yeah, that. I nearly forgot." He says, his tiger eyes perking up. I roll my eyes, he hasn't changed a bit.

"What is it? Tell me, or I'll slit your throat." I threatened, making his eyes bulge out.

He immediately begins to float away from me, fear dancing in his eyes while I smirked.

He clears his throat, "on second thought, I'll just get to the point here." He says, shifting uncomfortably.

"You better." I say, getting comfortable on a stool by my mirror.

His facial expression suddenly gets serious, "I got to find out Trigon plans to attack the center of the kingdom by the end of this week."

My eyes widen.

With my survey as queen for the past few days, I had learnt that the centre of the kingdom. The most important state, was Lone Caves, and it contained the strongest magicians among the states who help to keep the protective shield up and impenetrable.

So, if Trigon planned to attack, Lone Caves, then he wants to get rid of the protective shield around the kingdom first.

"How much time do we have left?" I ask, getting to my feet.

"Two days at most." He replies, "we don't have much time, we need to inform the head of the states about this before hand." I say pacing forth and back while Jax, my spirit animal watched me.

Then, I abruptly stopped, "we need to get there to help. Who is the Head of the state?" I ask turning to face Jax.

"Lady Caitlin." He said, and I stiffen.

She was the one who had sent Guest to protect me from Trigon.

Jax seemed to realize that I had already put the pieces together, because he was giving me a knowing look.
