Explaining things to Holden wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
After I had told him all I had managed to find out in all these few days about my father and my history.
Once I was done, I found Holden staring at me with wide eyes. He stared at me, then stared at Jax.
Me, then Jax....
After what seemed like forever, he finally speaks up.
"you mean.... he's not a... ghost?" He asks, throwing a wary glance at Jax this time.
Jax replies him with a glare. "I wouldn't say that if I were you." I say, with a knowing look and he nods.
"I'm not a ghost, I'm her spirit animal. I'm here to guide her." he says, eyes still shooting daggers at Holden.
I tense up a bit, "I apologize." Holden says. Jax seems shocked by it, but accepts it anyway.
I sigh in relief.
Holden looks up at me, with surprise in his eyes.
I realize I had worn a white shirt on a white bomshot. My hair was laid down and I was on my white fluffy slippers.
"do you always dress like this?" He asks with arced eyebrows, and I incline my head at his question.
"and what's wrong with what she's wearing?" Jax asks, defensively.
"No...Nothing. It's just... she looks different." he says.
"I only wear this when I'm home." I say calmly, aiming for the couch.
Once seated, I grab a pillow and place it on my folded legs. Staring expectantly at the TV.
"so, shall we watch something or will you both glare at each other all day?" I ask, my eyes still on the TV, as I grab a remote and begin scanning some channels.
They stare at each other, before they turn to me. With a sigh, Jax retreats to the couch.
Sitting in between both I and Holden.
Some time later, I turn off the TV soon after we've finished watching an interesting movie.
By interesting, I mean action thriller and suspence. Fantasy included.
I place the remote on the table, and soon after silence follows.
Without looking up, I could tell it felt awkward. Holden clears his throat and it echoes,
"ummm... I should get going." He says, I turn to find him already on his feet.
"yeah." I say, placing the pillow aside before getting to my feet.
"should I walk you to the door?" I ask, a hand directed at the door.
"no... I can manage, my mother must be worried about me." He says, with a forced smile.
"Alright then, get going." Jax says, folding his paws and resting his head in it. We both turn to him, but he seemed to be far too busy enjoying his little nap.
"By the way, who is your mother? I've never seen her before." I ask, curiosity taking the better of me.
"well..." Holden says, rubbing his neck.
I arc an eyebrow. "She's a single mother. She raised me alone." He says calmly.
"oh." I say, short of words. "you've never seen your father?" I ask, I really wanted to know who he looked like.
Could it be the mother or the father?
"well... no, my mom has never said anything about him. I don't... even know what he looks like." He says, his hands in his pockets as he stares down at his shoes.
"I'm sorry if..." I begin, but he interrupts.
"no, it's okay." he says, and soon after there's an awkward silence.
"I should leave..." he says, a hand pointing at the door.
"yes... I'll see you off." I say, and I make my way to the door right behind Him.
He opens the door and steps out, he attempts leaving but halts instantly then turns to me.
I blink, "goodbye.." he says, with a small smile and a slight wave of his hand.
I wave back, still surprised at his action.
"bye." I say, and he turns around making his way back through the way he came. Until I couldn't see his back anymore.
I shut the door with a sigh making sure to lock it before retreating to the stairs.
"Is your friend gone?" I hear Jax ask, from the couch where he is still curled up.
"yes, he has." I say with a smile, before running up the stairs and into my room.

The next day, the walk to school was unsually short. Jax had insisted on coming with me, which I reluctantly agreed to.
I walk into the school, still holding unto my bag pack. With a deep breath, I walk in. The sounds of my shoes echo in the hall way, ignoring it I aim for my class.
I lower my eyes to the floor, all while making my way to my seat. I place my bag aside as soon as I have my seat and begin preparing for classes.
Not long afterwards, classes begin.
Lectures today was unusually slower than usual.
Did the day get longer or am I eager to leave?
As soon as classes come to an end, I can't stop the relief that washes over me. I pack up my things, and grab my bag. Honestly, I was surprised Jax had stayed quiet for this long.
Walking out of the class and into the hall, I bump into something... or someone.
I grimace at the force which pulls me back, I also get a muffled 'ouch'.
Good, Jax also felt it too.
I rub my head, and look up. Only to find a set of black eyes staring down at me. Coal black.
It was a man, and he didn't look like he was a staff in the school.
"umm... who are you?" I ask, my words partly muffled due to the hand partially over my mouth.
He just stares down at me, his reddish hair falling to his face like flames. But he doesn't answer.
I feel a sudden chill in my body, I stare at him a while longer. He opens his mouth to speak, but a hand pulls me away from the side.
I gasp, looking up I find a set of golden eyes staring at me wide eyed.
"What were you doing?" Holden asks me, his grip on my hand tightens.
I stare at my hand, and his gaze follows. Ever so slowly he lets go of my hand.
I look around, assessing my environment and realize he had brought me to a secluded part of the school.
This place had to be the hall, in which the school basement was located.
"you can come out now." I say, Holden looks confused at first. But when Jax emerges
from my bag pack, his confusion disappears.
"they're here." Jax says.
"who is here?" I ask confused. Holden freezes, could he sense them too?
"You have to leave this place now, before they surround the place." Jax says panicking.I become frantic. "but, what are they? What are we running from?" I ask, looking in between Holden and Jax.
"demons." Holden says, and great silence follows.
Demons?
