After breakfast that morning…
"Calla sit, we have a discussion." He said in his usual cold tone.
She was surprised, wasn't he nice to her yesterday, so why was he back to his cold self now?.
She slowly sat down on her seat beside him.
She remembered he told her last night that he was going to tell her the rules today, and since then she couldn't stop thinking about what the rules were. But one thing was certain, if she didn't like the rules, then she wouldn't adhere to them.
"I want to tell about the rules in this house. Yes, this house has some rules."
Davis cleared his throat before continuing, "one, breakfast at 7 AM and dinner at 7 PM. No matter what you're doing at work, you must be home before dinner time."
She nodded and she agreed. At least that was understandable.
"Second, you can't bring anyone into this house, so I would appoint you a personal driver. I was thinking of giving Garcia to you, but from the look of things you seem to like him." He said the last part with clenched teeth.
She was embarrassed by what he said about her liking Garcia, but that wasn't what bothered her.
"You said I can't bring anyone into your house, but what about my assistant. We would need to work at home sometimes, since you said I can't stay at work past dinner time." She sounded annoyed.
He was unhappy about the fact that she referred to their house as, his house, but he didn't tell her.
"Marcus, would be your assistant when you are at home." He said calmly.
"What! No way, and how are you sure that Marcus guy of yours would be able to handle the kind of stuff related to my work?." She was beginning to get irritated by him.
"He has been trained in all aspects of human life, am sure he would be very useful to you." He didn't sound like he was going to let her have a way.
"The kind of work I do is pretty confidential, not everyone is allowed to know what's going on in my office." She was trying really hard to hide her anger, but this man was excellent at getting on her nerves.
He looked at her with a smirk.
"And what kind of work do you do Mrs Williams, that is so confidential?." He asked with a raised brow.
Calla "…"
She had mistakenly said something she shouldn't have.
"I own a dance studio." One thing she had learned from her life coach was the ability to maintain her confidence even in a difficult situation.
He laughed loudly. The maids were shocked to hear their boss laugh, it sounded like a melody floating around the room.
He knew fully well that she was going to say that, since he has done a private investigation of her. He found nothing suspicious about her. The information found on the internet showed that she owned a dance studio, with over hundred students attending her classes.
Her net worth was around a million dollars and that wasn't even close to what he made in a minute from his companies.
"So what's so confidential about a dance studio, new dance steps?." He teased her, she could only clench her fist tightly.
"Yes, new dance steps. I don't want other dance studios coping our moves." She said in a serious tone.
He nodded. "I see."
She heaved a sigh of relief.
"Marcus would be your driver and your personal assistant when Stacy isn't around, he would drive you to work and wait until it's time for you to come home. Stacy is allowed here only when it's important." He started texting on his phone, when he was done he looked up at her.
She was texting on her phone, and smiling at the phone.
His face darkened, he wondered who she was texting.
"Who were you texting?." He asked in a cold tone after she was done.
She was surprised by his question.
"No one." She responded indifferently.
He wasn't satisfied with her response.
"No one?, but I saw you texting on the phone."
She let her a sigh. "It was Stacy."
"So what was so funny that you were smiling."
Calla "…"
Her face turned red from blushing so hard.
How could she tell this man that her best friend and assistant was asking how about their wedding night.
Seeing the color of her face, and being a very smart man, Davis already knew what the two ladies had talked about.
"So, what did you tell her about last night?." He asked with a teasing smile on his lips.
Calla was shocked, how did he know about her discussion with her assistant?.
"Don't have any other rules to enforce?." She asked, trying to change the topic.
He suddenly realized he hadn't finished giving her all the rules.
"You aren't expected to be seen with another man during our marriage."
Calla looked at him. She knew that rule was logical, but she wouldn't be able to keep to it.
"What happens if I break that particular rule?." She wanted to know her punishment, because she knew she was going to break that rule due to the kind of work she was involved with.
Something flashed across his face. He wasn't expecting her to ask him that. Was she planning to break that particular rule?, he wondered.
"You would be grounded for two weeks." His voice was as cold as ice, sending chills down her spine.
She swallowed hard, "what about my work, how would I work if am grounded for two weeks?." She thought the punishment was illogical.
"Are you planning on breaking the rule?." He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I will have to, due to the nature of my job, I train males too."
"I understand, but you can't meet them outside the studio, but if you would have to, then you would go along with Marcus."
He didn't let her say anything, he stood up and walked towards the door. "Am off to work, see you when am back."
Garcia was already waiting for him in the car.
"I don't want to see you anywhere near my wife." He said in a cold voice.
Garcia swallowed. "Yes, boss."
The car zoomed off.
