Author's note: If you are opportune to pick up this novel please bear with me because the story is a slow-burn romance and it doesn't start with a badass FL getting revenge against her bully but she isn't also weak. The novel entails a lot of twists so get your heart ready and popcorn too because it's going to be a long ride.
******************************************
The pale present moon shone brightly like a silvery claw in the night sky. The night glow was also accompanied by the city lights.
A luxurious Rolls-Royce phantom screeched to a halt in front of a luxurious hotel, and the car door was opened, revealing a pale leg and a lady stepping out.
The lady was clad in a red long dinner gown that complimented her pale skin.
Her long Auburn hair cascaded down to her back and her beautiful hazel eyes could compel you to your knees if you stares into them for too long.
Her straight long legs were accompanied by her big hips and she adorned herself with fine pieces of jewelry that you will think she was a bride-to-be but no she was different.
She wasn't a bride-to-be or someone to get proposed to but she is someone that wanted to let go of everything.
"What a night to end things," she says with a sad smirk looking at the restaurant.
The beautiful lady is none other than Sandra Brown, one of the most successful actresses in the showbiz world.
She overtook the industry by storm 6 years ago with a movie that broke the box office and also gave her a big break.
She had dominated the show biz ever since, and she was referred to as the nation's goddess.
She took brisk steps towards the restaurant and different thoughts ran through her mind.
Sandra had never felt so vulnerable in her life before but at that particular moment she was torn she had already made up her mind not after what she saw.
Not after the display of love, she felt between them.
She walked into the restaurant and looked around the hotel looking for that familiar face that was founded to be unfamiliar soon.
"Please this way, ma'am," a waiter approached her leading her to a place and Sandra smiled despite the series of questions she had.
She furrowed her eyebrow in confusion wondering what was going on.
What's with the setting aren't they just having dinner just like every other day, Sandra thought but she followed the man regardless.
After the waiter led her to a terrace he left her alone and she was tempted to ask him a question but she bite her tongue down not letting her curiousity shows.
The terrace was dim with nothing in sight and her brazen side was starting to lose out but immediately the terrace was lit with a different glow that blinded her sight momentarily.
She looked at the sudden change in shock and disbelief but her worries were cut short when she saw that haunting grey eyes.
Those haunting grey eyes had always gets her stucked but Sandra looked away immediately not wanting to get trapped like always.
"Hi, "A deep baritone voice rang out beside and she just nodded her head not looking but what she didn't notice was that the voice was laced with worry.
"Let's go sit down," he says and she wondered where they were supposed to sit.
"Where are we suppose to sit on empty ...," she was saying but her voice trailed off when she saw the decorated terrace.
The once-dark and vacant terrace was decorated with shimmering light and lighted candles were scattered on the floors with rose petals.
There was a two-person table designed with flowers and some candles were placed nicely on it.
Is there a proposal going on here? Do we enter the wrong place?
Sandra was shocked but she held to her surprise because as an actress it was a skill she picked up and wore like her second mask.
"Why are we doing this Mr. Brooke," Sandra asked with a cold voice that show distance in it and the man in front of her knitted his eyebrows in confusion not understanding what her distance was for.
The man in front of Sandra was no other than Dylan Brooke one of the most influential men in the country, the current CEO of Brooke group, and the only direct heir to the successor of the group.
The man was in a three-piece suit that didn't do justice to his well-defined masculine body and his brow which was knitted in amusement makes him handsome.
He was already feared by men not because he was the heir to the Brooke group but became he was Dylan, he already make a name for himself.
But despite his infamous reputation he was an adonis, he was every woman's dream.
Dylan was breathtakingly handsome the look some of the people had thought messing with him will be okay.
His grey eyes could compel you to your knees while just staring at them, his luscious bloody red lips that would invite you for a bite, and his masculine body frame that his suit can't hide will make you want to hide in his embrace but that person will be courting death.
"Why are you in a hurry let's eat first," Dylan says looking into Sandra's eyes but she looked away walking toward the table.
"Why is she so cold? What's wrong with her mood? Dylan thought but he followed her with steady steps and he pulled the chair for her like a gentleman.
Immediately they sat down the musical band that Sandra didn't notice started playing a classical tune and Sandra's gut feeling kept telling her that something was wrong.
The terrace atmosphere was tense and the only sound they could hear was the instrumental tune and also the clanking of cutleries.
Sandra kept breathing unsteadily and the man in front of her mood was no different. They were both tensed for the reason know to them.
Sandra kept stealing glances at the man in front of her looking for closure in her decision but when she saw that on him, she let out a sad smile.
"You must be crazy for trying to hold in," Sandra thought to herself.
"I had something to say, "Sandra's voice rang out and her voice doesn't show any holes not portraying her troubling mind.
There was always a golden moment in everyone's lives, when they acquired something and when they are letting go of something and Sandra's golden moment was now.
"What's it?"Dylan asked but his voice came out a snap and the woman mocked herself in her mind.
She studied the expression of the man in her front and his expression looked grave it looks like he was in the board room where he was studying the stock slope and that was it between them.
Business!!!
"Today marked the end of our deal, Mr. Brooke," Sandra says with little to no emotions on her face.
The atmosphere grows cold that anyone could drop dead. The different emotions flashed through the cold man's face and his aura grow colder.
He looked at the woman in front of him that maintained a neutral face and all of his facial muscles ached in anger.
The only question running through his mind was WHY?
Why does she bring up that dreadful deal he was trying to rectify?
Why does she want to pierce his heart and wanted to dump his feelings like it was nothing?
"What do you mean?" that was the only words he could slip out of his mouth despite the different question running through his mind.
"The contract is over, Mr. Brooke, it is exactly 6 years today and our deal is over, "the woman says battling her eyelashes bashfully.
Yeah, 6 years of being bedmates to each other.
6 years of reaping benefits from him by just warming his bed.
That horrible 6 years that was blissful to both but at that time they also got addicted to something dangerous and surreal.
Dylan had grown quiet for some time not saying anything and his facial expression was still neutral but with that look series of questions and deliberation was flowing through his mind which the lady was oblivious to.
Despite the nonchalant attitude she put on one corner of her mind wishing that he would put up a fight, he won't let her go even if she doesn't mean anything to him but the man didn't show any reaction and that broke her last fragment of hope.
"Then I will consider this a done deal, Mr. Brooke," Sandra says with a meek voice her emotions betraying her.
She stoop up from the chair with a little bit of resistance and she walked towards the terrace entrance but a large arms grab onto her waist suddenly and she gasps in shock.
They both stared into each other's eyes with unsaid words which neither of them are ready to say.
"Who says it is over, "Dylan's cold voice rang out and Sandra arched her brows in confusion.
"I think you are forgetting something kitten, "His deep voice rang out and he rubbed his cold fingers on her lips.
"I call the shot, "he declared pressing his lips on her.....
