Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Development

Kai gained consciousness two days later, feeling a sharp pain in his body. He opened his eyes and saw that he was lying on the ground in front of a damaged lighthouse.

He looked around and saw the signs of destruction and chaos. He saw the hole in the wall, the shattered windows, the glass shards, and the blood stains.

He then remembered his fight with Razor, the leader of the creators and the second strongest player of the game. He remembered how he challenged him to a duel, how he fought him with his Dragon Fist hatsu, how he was overpowered and defeated by his nen balls, and how he was spared and praised by him.

Kai felt a mix of emotions as he recalled his fight with Razor. He felt disappointed by his loss to Razor, as it was his first defeat of fourteen years being born into the Zoldyck family as the twin brother of Killua and as a martial arts and nen genius.

He felt ashamed that he failed to complete his hunter mission and to bring Razor to justice or eliminate him. He felt frustrated that he was not strong enough or skilled enough to match Razor in strength and skill.

But he also felt motivated to improve his skills and abilities, especially his nen mastery. He felt inspired by Razor's words and actions, by his challenge and friendship, by his respect and faith.

He felt determined to come back here someday, to face Razor again, to have a rematch with him. He felt hopeful that he would grow stronger and better, that he would surpass Razor and himself, that he would enjoy the game and have fun with him.

He decides to seek more training and guidance from someone who can help him develop his nen further. He remembers Bisky, the veteran hunter and the master of nen, who trained him and his friends in the basics of nen before. He thinks that she might be able to help him improve his Dragon Fist hatsu and teach him some advanced nen techniques. He also misses her and wants to see her again.

He takes out his contact card, which he got from Bisky before they parted ways. He activates it and sees Bisky's face on the card. She looks surprised and happy to see him.

"Kai! Is that you? How are you?" Bisky asks, smiling.

"Bisky! I'm fine. How are you?" Kai asks, smiling.

"I'm good. I'm still in Greed Island, playing the game and having fun. What about you? Where are you?" Bisky asks, curious.

"I'm in Soufrabi, at the lighthouse of challenge. I just had a fight with Razor, the leader of the creators." Kai says, serious.

"Razor? You fought Razor? Are you crazy? He's one of the strongest nen users in the world. He's also one of the creators of this game. He has some powerful cards and abilities. How did you do?" Bisky asks, shocked.

"I lost. He was too strong for me. He defeated me with his nen balls. But he spared me and praised me. He also challenged me to come back when I'm stronger. He said he wants to fight me again." Kai says, honest.

"Wow. That's amazing. You're very lucky and brave. You managed to survive and impress Razor. You also earned his respect and friendship. That's not something that many people can do." Bisky says, impressed.

"Thank you. But I'm not satisfied. I want to get stronger. I want to beat Razor. I want to complete my hunter mission and my personal goal." Kai says, determined.

"I see. And what is your hunter mission and your personal goal?" Bisky asks, interested.

"My hunter mission is to hunt down dangerous criminals and bring them to justice or eliminate them if necessary. And my personal goal is to test myself against the strongest nen users in the world and see how far I can go." Kai says, passionate.

"I see. And how do you plan to achieve them?" Bisky asks, curious.

"Well, that's why I contacted you. I need your help. I need your training and guidance. I need you to teach me how to develop my nen further." Kai says, sincere.

"Really? You want me to train you again? Are you sure?" Bisky asks, surprised.

"Yes, I do. You're the best teacher I've ever had. You taught me and my friends the basics of nen before. You helped us improve our skills and abilities a lot. You also became our friend and mentor." Kai says, grateful.

"Thank you for your kind words. But you know that my training is not easy or pleasant, right? It's hard and painful. It's also long and tedious." Bisky says, warning.

"I know that. But I don't mind that. I'm willing to endure anything if it means getting stronger and better." Kai says, brave.

"Are you sure? Because if I train you again, I won't go easy on you. I'll push you to your limits and beyond. I'll make you work harder than ever before." Bisky says, serious.

"I'm sure. I want you to push me to my limits and beyond. I want you to make me work harder than ever before." Kai says, serious.

"Okay then. If that's what you want, then I'll train you again." Bisky says, accepting.

"Thank you so much! When can we start?" Kai asks, excited.

"How about right now? Where are you exactly?" Bisky asks, ready.

"I'm at the lighthouse of challenge in Soufrabi." Kai says, eager.

"Okay then. Stay there and wait for me. I'll be there soon." Bisky says, leaving.

"Okay then. See you soon." Kai says, happy.

He then ends the call and waits for Bisky to arrive.

Two days later, Bisky finally made it to Kai's location, which was the lighthouse of challenge, a towering structure that tested the skills and courage of nen users. She was glad to see that he had healed from his injuries, thanks to his strong regeneration ability of his body.

However, she was also shocked by the aftermath of their fight when she arrived at the scene. The lighthouse was severely damaged, with cracks and holes on its walls and windows. The surrounding area was littered with debris and rubble, and the ground was stained with blood and scorch marks.

She could hardly believe that such a fierce and destructive battle had taken place there. She wondered what kind of power they had used, and how Kai had managed to survive.

The next day, He joins Bisky in her training camp, where he undergoes rigorous and intensive exercises and drills to enhance his physical and mental capabilities.

He does various activities such as running, jumping, climbing, lifting, swimming, fighting, meditating, studying, and solving puzzles. He also learns various skills such as martial arts, survival, stealth, tracking, and first aid.

He follows Bisky's instructions and schedules strictly and diligently, without complaining or slacking off. Some of the exercises and drills that he does are:

Running for 10 kilometers every morning and evening, carrying a heavy backpack.

Jumping over obstacles such as fences, walls, and pits, using his legs and nen.

Climbing up and down trees, rocks, and mountains, using his arms and nen.

Lifting heavy objects such as logs, rocks, and weights, using his strength and nen.

Swimming across rivers and lakes, using his stamina and nen.

Fighting against Bisky or other opponents, using his Dragon Fist hatsu and other nen techniques.

Meditating for an hour every day, using his breath and nen.

Studying various subjects such as history, geography, biology, and nen theory, using his memory and nen.

Solving puzzles such as riddles, mazes, codes, and chess problems, using his logic and nen.

Learning martial arts such as karate, judo, boxing, and tai chi, using his body and nen.

Learning survival skills such as hunting, fishing, cooking, and camping, using his senses and nen.

Learning stealth skills such as hiding, sneaking, disguising, and escaping, using his speed and nen.

Learning tracking skills such as following trails, footprints, scents, and sounds, using his eyes and nen.

Learning first aid skills such as treating wounds, infections, poisons, and diseases, using his hands and nen.

He does these exercises and drills every day for several months. He gradually improves his physical and mental capabilities. He becomes faster, stronger, tougher, smarter, and more skilled. He also becomes more confident, determined, and focused. He also develops a deeper and stronger bond with Bisky, who becomes his trainer, mentor, and friend.

He also keeps in touch with his twin brother Killua and his friend Gon, who are also training and playing the game in different locations.

One day, he calls them on his phone and starts a conversation.

"Hey, guys. How are you doing? How's the game going for you?"

"Hey, Kai. We're doing great. We're having a lot of fun and adventure in the game. We've collected a lot of cards and met a lot of interesting people." Gon replies enthusiastically.

"Yeah, the game is awesome. We've also learned a lot of new things and improved our skills. We've faced some tough challenges and enemies, but we've overcome them together." Killua adds confidently.

"That's awesome, guys. I'm happy for you. You sound like you're having a blast."

"What about you, Kai? How's your training and the game going for you?" Gon asks curiously.

"I'm doing well, too. I've been training hard and learning new things. I've also been playing the game and collecting cards. I've met some cool people and some not-so-cool people. I've also had some exciting battles and experiences." Kai answers honestly.

"Really? Like what?" Killua asks eagerly.

"Well, for example, I fought this guy who had a really powerful nen ability that could manipulate gravity. He was really strong and fast, and he almost crushed me with his gravity force. But I managed to beat him with my dragon fist and my speed." Kai recounts proudly.

"Wow, that sounds amazing. You fought someone who could manipulate gravity? That's so cool." Gon says admiringly.

"Yeah, that's impressive. You must have been really brave and smart to win against him." Killua says approvingly.

"Thanks, guys. You're too kind. But it wasn't easy. He was one of the toughest opponents I've ever faced. He also had a lot of cards and was after mine. He was very greedy and ruthless." Kai says modestly.

"What did you do with him after you beat him?" Gon asks innocently.

"I took his cards and left him there. He deserved it for being such a jerk." Kai says bluntly.

"Good for you, Kai. You taught him a lesson." Killua says supportively.

"Yeah, good job, Kai. You did the right thing." Gon says agreeably.

"Thanks, guys. You're the best." Kai says gratefully.

They continue to chat for a while, exchanging stories and tips about the game and their training. They also joke around and tease each other, making each other laugh and smile. They enjoy their conversation and their friendship, feeling closer than ever despite being apart. They end their call with words of encouragement and affection, promising to keep in touch and meet again soon.

He also makes some new friends and allies in the game, such as Melody, Hanzo, and Bisky's students. He also encounters some new enemies and rivals in the game, such as Genthru, Tsezguerra, and Abengane.

He becomes more respectful of life and death and more grateful for his friends and family. He becomes more passionate about his mission and goal. He becomes more ready for his rematch with Razor.

He also strengthens his basic and advanced techniques in nen and martial arts. He practices and masters the four basic principles of nen: Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and Hatsu. He also learns and applies the six advanced techniques of nen: Gyo, Ko, Ken, Ryu, En, and In. He also learns and uses the four basic applications of nen: Shu, Aura Burst, Aura Blast, and Nen Exorcism.

He also improves his own hatsu: Dragon Fist, which is a transmutation ability that allows him to shape his aura into a dragon's head that can bite his enemies. He also learns more about his own nen type (Transmutation) and its strengths and weaknesses, as well as the other nen types and their affinities and compatibilities with each other.

He learns that transmuters are whimsical and prone to deceit, that they can change the properties of their aura to mimic different substances or phenomena, that they have a 100% affinity with their own type, an 80% affinity with enhancement and conjuration, a 60% affinity with emission, and a 40% affinity with manipulation and specialization.

He also learns that his Dragon Fist hatsu is a powerful and versatile ability that can be used for offense, defense, mobility, and utility, but it also has some drawbacks and limitations, such as requiring a lot of aura and concentration, being vulnerable to certain types of attacks or abilities, and having a limited range and duration.

He also learns how to combine it with other nen techniques or martial arts moves, such as using In to conceal his dragon fist until the last moment, using En to sense the range and direction of his dragon fist, or using Ryu to adjust the amount of aura in his dragon fist according to the situation.

He also learns how to create variations or sub-abilities of his hatsu, such as using his dragon fist to create shockwaves or explosions, to control the shape or size of his dragon fist, or to imbue his dragon fist with different properties or effects.

He also learns how to overcome its weaknesses or enhance its strengths, such as using Ken to protect himself from the recoil or backlash of his dragon fist, using Zetsu to conserve his aura when not using his dragon fist, or using Ren to increase the power and speed of his dragon fist.

He also learns more about the other nen types and their users, such as how to recognize them by their aura color or shape, their personality or attitude, their fighting style or strategy, or their hatsu or abilities.

He also learns how to fight against them or cooperate with them, such as how to anticipate their moves or counter their attacks, how to communicate or coordinate with them, how to support or complement their skills, or how to challenge or motivate them.

He also learns how to exploit their weaknesses or avoid their strengths, such as how to find their blind spots or pressure points, how to use their emotions or habits against them, how to dodge or block their strongest attacks, or how to escape or survive their traps or threats.

He also learns how to respect their differences or appreciate their similarities, such as how to acknowledge their talents or achievements, how to understand their goals or values, how to admire their creativity or uniqueness, or how to share their passion or curiosity.

He also learns more about martial arts, such as karate, judo, boxing, and tai chi. He learns the history, philosophy, principles, techniques, forms, and styles of each martial art, such as how karate originated in Okinawa, how judo emphasizes throwing and grappling, how boxing focuses on punching and footwork, and how tai chi balances yin and yang.

He also learns how to use them effectively in combat, such as how to use karate to strike with power and precision, how to use judo to take down and immobilize opponents, how to use boxing to deliver fast and accurate blows, and how to use tai chi to deflect and redirect attacks.

He also learns how to combine them with his nen ability or other nen techniques, such as how to use his dragon fist with karate kicks or punches, how to use his Ryu with judo throws or holds, how to use Gyo or Ko with boxing jabs or hooks, and how to use Zetsu or In with tai chi movements or postures.

He also learns how to adapt them to different situations or opponents, such as how to use karate against multiple or armed enemies, how to use judo against larger or stronger enemies, how to use boxing against faster or agile enemies, and how to use tai chi against aggressive or hostile enemies.

He also learns how to create variations or sub-moves of them, such as how to use karate chops or elbows, how to use judo sweeps or locks, how to use boxing uppercuts or crosses, and how to use tai chi pushes or pulls.

He also learns how to overcome their weaknesses or enhance their strengths, such as how to use Ken or Ryu to protect himself from the impact of karate strikes, how to use En or Shu to sense the balance of judo opponents, how to use Ren or Hatsu to increase the force of boxing punches, and how to use Ten or Zetsu to control the flow of tai chi energy.

He also learns more about himself as a fighter and a person. He learns his strengths and weaknesses, such as his speed and agility, his creativity and adaptability, his endurance and resilience, but also his recklessness and impulsiveness, his pride and stubbornness, his inexperience and naivety.

He learns his preferences and tendencies, such as his love for adventure and challenge, his curiosity and eagerness to learn, his loyalty and compassion for his friends, but also his dislike for boredom and routine, his impatience and restlessness, his anger and resentment for his enemies.

He learns his goals and motivations, such as his desire to become a great hunter and nen user, his aspiration to find his true potential and purpose, his hope to reunite with his family and friends.

He also learns how to balance himself in every aspect: power and speed, offense and defense, attack and evasion, logic and intuition, courage and caution, passion and calmness. He also learns how to express himself in every aspect: through his words and actions, through his aura and hatsu, through his body and martial arts.

He also learns how to enjoy himself in every aspect: by having fun and thrill, by learning and growing, by making friends and allies, by playing the game and living his life.

He also undergoes a surprising revelation when he finds out that he possesses a secondary nen type (Specialization), a rare and mysterious category that defies the normal rules of nen.

He discovers this when he accidentally activates his dragon eye during a life-threatening situation, and realizes that his aura has changed color and shape. He feels a mix of shock, curiosity, and excitement, as he wonders what this means for his abilities and future.

To unlock his potential, he trains with various specialists and masters different nen techniques, such as In, En, Shu, Ko, and Gyo. Through rigorous training and experimentation, he develops a second hatsu called dragon eye, which allows him to see the aura flow and weak points of any target.

He spends six months training with Bisky, one of the most renowned nen teachers in the world. He bows respectfully to her and expresses his gratitude.

"Thank you so much, Bisky-sensei. You have taught me more than I could ever imagine. You have helped me discover my true potential and hone my skills. I owe you everything."

Bisky smiles warmly and ruffles his hair.

"You're welcome, Kai-kun. You have been a wonderful student. You have shown great talent, perseverance, and courage. You have impressed me with your progress and achievements. I'm proud of you."

She then gives him a serious look and says.

"But remember, this is not the end of your journey. This is only the beginning. There is still so much more to learn and explore in the world of nen. Don't ever stop challenging yourself and improving yourself. And don't ever forget the principles and values that I have taught you. Nen is a powerful tool, but also a dangerous one. Use it wisely and responsibly."

Kai nods solemnly and promises to follow her advice.

"I will, Bisky-sensei. I will never forget what you have done for me. And I will always honor your teachings."

Bisky hugs him and wishes him good luck.

"Good luck, Kai-kun. I hope you find what you're looking for in your adventure. And if you ever need me again, you know where to find me."

Kai hugs her back and thanks her again.

"Thank you, Bisky-sensei. You're the best teacher ever."
