Kai then sets off on his solo adventure after separating with Killua in the mysterious game world of Greed Island. His goal is to track down and challenge Razor, the notorious leader of the Bomb Devils, who has been terrorizing the island for years.
Along the way, Kai hopes to collect rare and valuable cards that will help him unlock the secrets of the game and enhance his skills.
He travels to different regions of the island, such as the forest of Doyen, where he finds the card of the Guardian Tree, a giant tree that can heal any wound; the desert of Antokiba, where he obtains the card of the Sand Dragon, a mythical beast that can manipulate sand; and the city of Soufrabi, where he acquires the card of the Rainbow Diamond, a precious gem that can change its color according to its owner's mood.
His most powerful weapon is his unique nen ability, which he calls Dragon Fist. With this technique, he can transmute his aura into a fearsome dragon's head that can clamp down on his foes with its razor-sharp teeth. Kai trains his Dragon Fist by fighting against various opponents and monsters in the game.
He would as well use different nen-enhancing cards such as the card of the Aura Amplifier, a device that can boost his aura output; the card of the Nen Master, a book that can teach him advanced nen techniques; and the card of the Dragon's Heart, a pendant that can increase his affinity with dragons. Kai is determined to prove himself as a worthy hunter and a master of nen.
He travels across the island, exploring its various locations and landmarks, such as Masadora, the city of magic, where he marvels at the wonders of spells and potions; Soufrabi, the city of love, where he meets a charming girl who turns out to be a card; Aiai, the city of lies, where he learns to be wary of deception and trickery; Antokiba, the city of prizes, where he participates in a thrilling rock-paper-scissors tournament; Dorias, the city of games, where he tests his luck and strategy in various board games; Limeiro, the city of flavors, where he savors the delicious cuisines and drinks of the island; and Kazsule's Tower, the tower of trials, where he faces many challenges and dangers to reach the top.
He faces various challenges and dangers in his journey, such as monsters, traps, puzzles and other players who are competing for the cards or trying to kill him. He encounters fierce creatures such as giant spiders, fire-breathing dragons, electric eels and carnivorous plants; he avoids deadly traps such as spikes, pits, lasers and bombs; he solves complex puzzles such as riddles, mazes, codes and chess problems; and he fights against other players who have different motives and abilities.
Some of them are friendly and helpful, such as Biscuit, a veteran hunter who becomes his mentor; some of them are neutral and indifferent, such as Goreinu, a beast hunter who joins his team temporarily; and some of them are hostile and malicious, such as Genthru, a bomber who wants to collect all the cards by any means necessary.
He also makes some friends and allies along the way, such as Melody, a Single-Star Hunter and a Music Hunter, who can use her flute to calm or manipulate people's emotions. She helps him by soothing his nerves, healing his wounds, and detecting any danger with her keen hearing. Hanzo, a Rookie Hunter and a Ninja Hunter, who can use his stealth and ninjutsu skills to infiltrate or escape any situation. He helps him by scouting the area, gathering information, and creating diversions. And Bisky's students (Gon's friends), who are also playing the game.
He also encounters some of the other creators of the game, who are also playing the game and who have their own cards and abilities.
Dwun, a Triple-Star Hunter and a Game Hunter, who can create and manipulate dice that can alter the outcome of any situation. Kai met Dwun in the city of Dorias, the city of games, where he is testing his luck and strategy in various board games. He sees Dwun playing a dice game with some other players, and he is intrigued by his skill and charisma.
"Hey, kid. You look like you're new here. Do you need some help?" Dwun asks Kai, who is wandering around the game world, looking for clues and cards.
"Uh, yeah. I'm Kai. I'm a Combat Hunter. I'm trying to find Razor and challenge him." Kai replies, feeling a bit nervous.
"Razor? You mean the boss of the Bomb Devils? That's a tough one. He's one of the creators of the game, you know. He has some powerful cards and abilities. You'll need a lot of luck and skill to beat him." Dwun says, shaking his head.
"I know. But I have a mission to complete. And I have my own ability too. It's called Dragon Fist. I can transmute my aura into a dragon's head that can bite my enemies." Kai says, showing his confidence.
"Dragon Fist? That sounds cool. But you'll need more than that to win in this game. You'll need some dice too." Dwun says, smiling.
"Dice? What do you mean?" Kai asks, curious.
"Dice are special cards that can change the game in your favor. They can give you bonuses, penalties, rewards, or punishments depending on how you roll them. They can also affect other players and the environment. They're very useful and fun to use." Dwun explains, taking out a dice card from his pocket.
"Wow. That sounds amazing. How do you get them?" Kai asks, impressed.
"Well, you can find them in some places, trade them with other players, or create them yourself if you have the right skills. I'm a Game Hunter, so I can create and manipulate dice with my nen ability. It's called Dice Master. I can make any kind of dice I want with different effects and probabilities." Dwun says, showing off his talent.
"That's awesome. Can you teach me how to use them?" Kai asks, eager to learn.
"Sure, kid. I like your spirit. Come with me. I'll show you some of the basics of dice and how to use them in the game." Dwun says, leading Kai to a nearby field.
"Thank you, sir. You're very kind." Kai says, following Dwun.
"Don't mention it, kid. Just call me Dwun. And don't forget to have fun in the game." Dwun says, laughing.
"Okay, Dwun. And don't forget to call me Kai." Kai says, smiling.
List, a Double-Star Hunter and a List Hunter, who can create and manipulate lists that can contain any information or item. Kai met List in the city of Soufrabi, the city of love, where he is looking for a card that can help him win the heart of a girl he likes. He sees List sitting in a cafe, writing something on a notebook. He approaches him and asks him what he is doing.
"Hi, I'm Kai. I'm a Combat Hunter. What are you writing?" Kai asks List, who looks up from his notebook.
"Hi, I'm List. I'm a List Hunter. I'm writing a list." List answers, showing his notebook.
"A list? Of what?" Kai asks, curious.
"A list of anything. I can write lists of anything I want. Names, numbers, facts, opinions, questions, answers, cards, items, anything. And I can manipulate them with my nen ability. It's called List Maker. I can make any list I want with different effects and functions." List explains, showing his talent.
"Wow. That sounds amazing. How do you use them?" Kai asks, impressed.
"Well, I can use them for many purposes. I can use them to store information, to organize data, to analyze situations, to plan strategies, to communicate with others, to trade with others, to influence others, to control others, and so on. They're very useful and fun to use." List says, smiling.
"That sounds awesome. Can you teach me how to use them?" Kai asks, eager to learn.
"Sure, kid. I like your curiosity. Come with me. I'll show you some of the basics of lists and how to use them in the game." List says, leading Kai to his car.
"Thank you, sir. You're very generous." Kai says, following List.
"Don't mention it, kid. Just call me List. And don't forget to enjoy the game." List says, driving away.
"Okay, List. And don't forget to call me Kai." Kai says, buckling up.
Lastly Wdwune, a Single-Star Hunter and a Wdwune Hunter, who can create and manipulate wdwunes, which are creatures that can mimic anything they see or hear. Kai met Wdwune in the forest of Doyen, the forest of life, where he is looking for a card that can heal his injuries. He sees Wdwune playing with some wdwunes, which are small, furry creatures that can change their appearance and voice. He decides to join him and introduce himself to Wdwune.
"Hi, I'm Kai. I'm a Combat Hunter. What are those things?" Kai asks Wdwune, who looks up from his wdwunes.
"Hi, I'm Wdwune. I'm a Wdwune Hunter. These are wdwunes." Wdwune answers, showing his wdwunes.
"Wdwunes? What are they?" Kai asks, curious.
"Wdwunes are special creatures that can mimic anything they see or hear. They can look like anything, sound like anything, act like anything. And I can create and manipulate them with my nen ability. It's called Wdwune Maker. I can make any wdwune I want with different effects and abilities." Wdwune explains, showing his talent.

"Okay, Wdwune. And don't forget to call me Kai." Kai says, entering the hut.
