Chapter 17 - Seventeen

D E A M O N

Leaving Soleil behind, I left the room and went to see how the rare visitor was doing.

I was asking one of her sons to pick her up at her base, give her a dress to wear, and bring her home. Normally, I wouldn't trust these people, but since Zarde wasn't available, I had no choice but to let them do it.

I opened the study door and went inside and saw a girl looking at me like a wild animal. She was sitting on one of my sofas with her hands on her lap. Luke loves wild girls.

"Demon, right?" she asked.

"My name doesn't matter to you. Actually, it shouldn't be your concern," I retorted.

"You really are Luke's friend," she laughed. "Thank you for saving me"

"I didn't save you, miss. Vizio isn't there right now, and I need to get you out before he comes back, so I just got you out of there. That's why I has a job for you."

"So my survival out of this hell hole depends on the outcome of the deal you make with me here tonight," I applauded her.

I pointed her finger at her and said, "You are smart."

"As long as you promise to help me and Soleil get out of here safely, I'll do anything. She's still alive. Can you say Soleil? "

I turned my hand into a ball. Her request made me angry.

"Remove Soleil from her prison term, and we'll reach an agreement."

"What do you think?"

"Soleil will stay. She won't go with you," I explained.

"Impossible, Damon."

"Don't do that!" I growl. "Soleil will stay and this will be the final decision. Please don't talk about it anymore. The main reason you're here is because it's an easy job. All you have to do is…" I told her I kept explaining what I wanted to do.

He knew that the small promise he had made with Soleil could easily be redeemed. She can lock the woman up until she leaves and keep her from seeing her wife, but I don't think she can stand Soleil's disappointed look on her face then. "What if I don't want to?"

"Then we'll discuss how to send your body back to Luke. How about that?" He spat and angrily left the room.

I instructed May to arrange for the girl to be taken to her room.

She returned to her room to find Soleil curled up on the bed, sound asleep. She was shivering with cold. I hurriedly closed the window and searched the room, but could not find the cover.

"Fuck! I might kill someone tomorrow," I muttered, not loud enough to wake her up.

I crawled into bed with her and took off her sweatshirt. I lightly touched her to wake her from her deep sleep. She opened her eyes slightly and flicked her eyelashes In confusion. This action alone sent false signals to my mind. I hate this feeling!

"It's okay, Kitty." She was wearing a sleeveless shirt, so I put my hand over her hand. I put her in a sweatshirt.

I held her close to her body so my body temperature could actually alert her. She leaned against my body, put her head on my arm and I wrapped her with my other hand. "Thank you," she muttered in her sleep.

In response, I kissed her on the forehead.

"I will never let you go, my love. For nothing or anyone."
