A bright billow consisting of a variety of different vibrant colors rushed through Kim's vision, locking him in a state of confusion and bewilderment. The speed at which he progressed through the realm of colors that moved like pudding made it seem like he was traveling at the speed of light. Any words he tried to utter were noiseless, the vacuum of this space sucking any noise that was conjured. His sight grew dim, an ominous black slowly seeping into his sight, what felt like boulders resting upon his eyelids.
'Only if I could sleep I would've already.' He nonchalantly thought as he neared closer to the end of the tube of colors. From eating food to suddenly being sucked into thin air, it was nearly incomprehensible to Kim Mo.
Finally, after seconds that felt like years, the black fog engulfed his body, rendering him unconscious as his body spun in wild circles.
DING DING!
Startled, Kim clumsily sat up from his slumber, surrounded by a pale green forest and other people who were just awakening. A faint ringing resounded throughout his head but he dismissed it, lightly rubbing his eyes as they adjusted to the light. Deep, but quick breaths were exhaled from Kim as he calmed himself down, frantically looking around him. 'D-Did they also get sucked here?' He asked himself in his head. He stared at a man who was waking up, wearing a blue suit with a patterned tie. His eyes were sunken, seemingly sleep-deprived.
Kim wobbled to his knees, then his feet. It took a second to recover his balance, but once he did he quickly stretched his limbs. "I feel so stiff..." He mumbled to himself as he stretched his arm.
Suddenly a holographic blue screen materialized in front of the few dozen confused people who just awoke.
Thick, white letters appeared on the screen, sending everyone into a deeper spiral of confusion, some even convinced that they were losing their mind. Kim himself couldn't believe it. He was plunged into an unknown area, then a screen just like in the novels he read suddenly appeared. 'M-My dreams must be getting out of hand.' He inwardly said to himself, a light chuckle escaping his lips.
[You have 15 Minutes to prepare for the tutorial. Please select a class and prepare yourself.]
Just as it appeared, it disappeared. "Select a class?" One of the women near Kim spoke aloud. He too, was confused, but he knew exactly what was occurring. 'I don't want to accept it but I think it's happening... I got transported into some world or universe where people get a game system... just like RPGs... and novels."
Kim knew his thinking was simply bizarre. Such a thing was pure fiction, only found in manga, manhwa, or novels. Yet, here he was. Living a dream he always wished for. Yet, he would soon find out that this life was not something someone should yearn for.
Before more thoughts could run through his head, sleek cards of differing colors appeared in his vision. They all had weird art drawn on them, from knights to archers and other typical classes you'd see in a game. Yet, as the cards appeared, their colors changed. From copper to ruby, all display different drawings. Kim instantly analyzed the color changes as rarities, typically the highest the best. But unlike video games, two cards attained a red hue. "I can obviously tell that these are copper, bronze, silver, and gold... But what is this? It's red." He spoke out loud. And from the drawing of it, he could either pick between a vampire or some humanoid figure with horns protruding out their head. 'A devil or a vampire. Since these are the same rarity they should perform the same, but most of it is up to the user.' Without a second thought, he selected the vampire card. 'I always wanted to be a vampire.' He said with a grin. Upon selecting the vampire card, another screen appeared in his vision, unique to him only.
[Class: Vampire]
[Rarity: Ruby]
[State: Copper]
[Description?]
As Kim thought, he was now a vampire it seemed. 'It says the rarity is Ruby but my state is Copper... What the hell does that mean?' He asked himself. Unfortunately, he was half-expecting the system to answer that for him, but it didn't.
He didn't mind it, he simply sat near a tree and crossed his arms. 'Aren't I supposed to be burning...? I thought vampires were allergic to the sunlight or something.' He confusingly said. Luckily, that trait about them was not true or he would be burning where he stood. Burning time, he read throughout the description.
[Vampires, mythological creatures who drink blood and have a seemingly insatiable thirst. Red eyes, burn at the touch of sunlight, sharp fangs, and many other things. They're an ancient race, with a life span that could reach multiple millennia. Compared to normal humans, they have high physical prowess and high-magic compatibility, even being able to grow stronger by drinking blood. Yet, such good traits can't come without negatives. Per the books you read on Earth, they are weak in the sun; at least for ranks above half-ling (Copper State), and below the rank of Lord (Amythest State). Because half-lings are entirely vampires yet, they don't burn in sunlight or are weak to fires, but they don't acquire the same amount of strength or magic as the next rank yet.]
[Strengths: Physical Prowess; Magic; Senses; hypnosis]
[Weaknesses; Holy Magic; Sunlight; Fire]
'As I thought. They're vulnerable to sunlight and fire but im not the next rank yet.' He said with a sigh of relief. Although it would be a problem to deal with later, as of now he'll be fine.
[Five minutes!]
[Free stat point's rewarded; 3.]
'I almost forgot!' He said in surprise.
A screen displaying information such as his stats and so on appeared.
[Name: Kim Yun]
[Class: Vampire]
[State: Copper (Half-ling)]
[Level: 1]
[Strength - 13 (Mid-F) | Dexterity - 11 (Low-F) | Stamina - 12 (Low-F) | Magic - 9 (Low-F)| Mana - 8 (Low-F)]
'My stat and the grade... I'm pretty fucking weak.' He said with a sigh. However, he did have a small smile as he realized he would be better off compared to his peers. Without a second thought, he dumped all three stat points into dexterity. 'My strength seems to be fine. My dexterity should be Mid-F now.' He said with a nod. He checked and he was correct, his dexterity is now 14. Without realizing it, he felt a faint surge of power flow throughout his body, an energizing and pleasurable feeling. 'Good to know it's during its job.'
He finally closed the system menu and peered over to the other people who teleported with him. Nearly everyone was shocked, confused, or scared. Some were curled into balls and weeping, some were hyperventilating and some stared into the distance with hollow eyes.
The atmosphere was undoubtedly gloomy. Most probably thought they were crazy, Kim wouldn't blame them though. He did have a few worries. Such as; Did they pick a card? Did they know what the good rarities are? Looking around, nearly half of the population were people who seemed to be in their thirties or above, most of them probably never played an RPG game. 'Shit...' He's never been fond of speaking out to a group, especially in times like this. But how could he let his future teammates possibly die?
With a gulp, he began yelling, "Everyone! I found out the rarities of the cards! It goes from Copper to a Bronze color, Silver to Gold then Ruby!" Kim suddenly yelled out. Some snapped their necks toward him, confused, then a look of dissatisfaction appeared on their faces. For some, their lips slightly curled up as they hadn't picked their classes yet, awaiting guidance or instructions like just now.
"W-What about green?" A teenager spoke. He had fluffy brown hair and glistening green eyes. Everyone stared daggers at the kid, which caused him to chuckle nervously. "Pick it, I'm pretty sure it's better than my class which was Ruby." The teenager nodded and followed his order without hesitation.
Kim knew to stick close to this teenager. Did he like leeching off someone else? No, of course not. But he knew green was better than gold, as for ruby, he was unsure. But he knew this teenager would be strong and worth teaming up with. "What's your name?" Kim asked with a comforting smile. He knew people wouldn't accept this until they saw it first-hand, so he wanted to make the boy as calm as possible and explain it to him. "Apollo, I'm from America. And it seems you are from Korea." He stated.
Kim didn't respond, pondering his thoughts. 'He's American and knows perfect Korean? That's cool.' He said. 'But it seems like they don't discriminate by country, so why exactly were we selected?' He questioned himself. He pushed it back to his head as he didn't have time. "I do have to know, where did you learn Korean?" Kim curiously asked, shooting a friendly gaze at the boy.
He could see an eyebrow raise from Apollo, "I don't? I'm speaking English. How do you know English?" The two stared at each other for a second before they came to the same realization. "Our words are being translated somehow..." Kim uttered, itching his hair. "How is that even possible," Apollo asked but dismissed it. "But anyway, this is exactly like-" Kim cut him off.
"I know, I know exactly what this is and you seem to know also. So don't hesitate, I know we're going have to fight something." Kim casually stated. Apollo nodded. "I'm afraid, sure, but I will fight until I die, my class made my strength and dexterity jump to 15, although my magic is nearly non-existent." A shocked expression covered Kim's face. '15? That's amazing!'
"Why the face?" Apollo asked. Kim coughed and answered. "My class which is supposed to give me high strength and speed, and magic is still lower than yours, although my magic is nearing the double digits."
"What's your class? Mine is Berserk Knight, focused on physicality." Kim nodded. "My class is Vampire, It focuses on physical stats and Magic." Apollo whistled in response. "A fuckin' vampire? That's cool! But... How are you not burning?" He said with a light tap on Kim's hand. "I'm not a full vampire so I don't burn in sunlight yet, but because of that my stat's aren't as great as they would be in other tiers." He said with a nervous chuckle. "That's n-"
Suddenly, another brunette ran up from behind, hugging Apollo. "I'm so happy you're here!" She exclaimed. "A-Ana?" He said in shock. Quickly, he turned around and hugged her back, a tear slipping out of the corner of his eyes. "W-Who's that?" Kim asked, pointing at the girl. "It's my sister!" He joyfully said. "She's 14 and I'm 16. Oh yeah! What's your class? If you didn't choose what are all the colors!" He hurriedly asked, grabbing her by the shoulders and comically jerking her. "I picked some gold color card, it was an assassin-like figure!" She quickly said.
"Thank god." He said with a sigh of relief. "D-Do you guys want to band together? I think we'll be strong together." Kim asked. Apollo shot a gaze at him, then his sister. His mouth moved but no words came out, his sister eyeing down Kim at the same time. "Sure." Apollo agreed. His sister seemed to agree as she nodded. "Well, we have around three minutes to prepare. My name is Kim Yun." He said to the girl. "Ana Goral and this is Apollo Goral." Kim nodded. The siblings chit-chatted for a couple of minutes before another notification appeared on the big, aqua holographic screen. [One minute left! Appropriate weapons were handed out.]
Suddenly, swords, axes, and many other types of weapons materialized in everyone's hands. Some possessed dual axes, some spears or bows. For the siblings, however, Ana received two daggers, and Apollo received an iron two-handed iron sword, akin to the Zweihander back in the old times.
Kim however received a skill that would act as his weapon for the tutorial and farther deep down the line.
[Skill received: Nails]
[Description: The basic weapon of a Vampire. They can extend their nails up to three inches and can do it as freely as they want without restrictions. This attack has a 1% Lifesteal effect which makes up for its range.]
Kim was baffled, but lucky. A 1% life steal was extremely helpful as he could gain some health back, although barely. Testing it out, he simply thought of extending his nails just like he would with stretching his arm or legs, and as it said, they elongated just to the three-inch mark. "This is amazing!" Kim said out loud.
This caught the attention of Ana and Apollo who glanced over just to see him weaponless. "What's his class?" Ana curiously asked, examining his fingernails. "Vampire, it seems he got his nails as a weapon, not an actual weapon like us." He said, raising his sword slightly.
"It's supposedly a skill, so I can do it whenever I want, it even has a 1% life steal effect." Ana trembled slightly "V-Vampire?" She muttered, taking a slight step back.
