Kim's eyes practically shone at hearing his cards.
"E-Emerald? That's so fucking good! Pick it up now!" Kim practically screamed.
Apollo instantly chose the card, examining the card in awe. "That's almost a 50% stat boost! But I can only use it for thirty seconds..."
Kim comically stared at him in surprise. "W-What's your mana stat?"
Apollo almost didn't answer, but did it at Kim's nudging. "It's only two." Kim sighed. "Well, at least we know every stat in mana is worth 5 MP. Use your two stat points on mana, now you can use it for an entire minute. You won't need to upgrade stats with such a skill, although save some mana in case it makes you exhausted." Apollo nodded, although he was already aware of mana exhaustion.
"Ana, your turn."
Ana shared her skill cards, but unlike the other two, she was only given two.

Apollo and Kim were bummed but didn't say anything about it.
"Maybe it's only two cards and low rarity because she's only a gold class?" Apollo spoke out. Kim nodded. "But you somehow got a skill the same rarity as your class, while I only got golds. I think there are some other factors in deciding on skills." He conveyed his thoughts which did make sense.
Unbeknownst to them, one of the main factors in determining the type of skills they get is based on their mana nature, which is between 6 elements.
Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Sun, and Moon.
Because Apollo's magic attribute is Sun, he was allotted skill cards such as Holy Sword and Blinding Strike. But, why the rarity was so high; That is not something that can be told for now.
"Honestly, I say go with what you think will be most useful, Ana. it's a tie for me and Apollo."
Ana stared at her cards before selecting the bottom one, Climb.
"I can climb into trees and traverse on them and probably be able to ambush a Wolf, giving me a head-start. My class isn't very out-right assault based so this will help a lot."
The two males nodded in unison and began walking.
A few seconds later, a prudent odor entered Kim's nose, forcing him to scrunch his nose and cough in revulsion. "Kim? What's wrong?" Apollo asked, lightly patting his back.
"I smell... Blood... A lot of it." He spine-chillingly said, staring to his left, his crimson eyes piercing into the distance. "H-how new?" Ana asked from behind, flicking her head around, wary of any Wolves approaching their flank. "Probably two hours old but... It's human blood." Sweat dripped from his hairline as he stood up, his eyes faltering as he stood into the distance. "Whatever it was managed to kill a lot of players, it must be strong.
Apollo grew worried and pulled out his sword. "I'm sure we're the strongest in the tutorial, we should go fight it. Whatever it is will give us a lot of XP, and it'll stop other players from getting killed."
Kim was the first to step in the direction of the blood, quickly followed by the siblings. 'He's brave.' Apollo admired Kim from behind as he stepped towards the bloodbath without wavering.
As he neared, the stench grew more potent, until he eventually made it there.
In a radius of a few dozen meters, multiple dismembered bodies with exposed innards and a pool of blood surrounding them were scattered throughout, many limbs belonging to different bodies crushed or ripped off, some even had crushed brains or caved-in chests.
Kim gulped as he lowered to his knee and dipped his finger into the blood, licking it. As he thought, it tasted wonderful. "This is dehumanizing for me but I'm going to drink some of their blood. Whatever this beast is, it's fucking strong."
Apollo nodded, covering his eyes as he walked back a few feet to get it out of his eyes. Ana was already barfing on the side, tearing up at such a brutal sight.
Kim stepped right in the middle, grabbing a body of a man whose torso was cut from his legs. He easily remembered this face as the old man he saw woke up next to him.
[Magic +2, Mana +1]
Mana and magic needed to be upgraded. Kim didn't want to spend any stat points on the two stats because he desperately hoped he would drink the blood of monsters that use magic or any humans who tried to kill him were a mage of sorts.
Moving onto the body of someone who had a broken iron sword in hand, he began drinking.
[Dexterity +1]
Unfortunately, the stats he acquired from drinking blood lessened over time, but despite this, he still had a significant strength boost. He attained 5 strengths, 3 dexterity, 2 stamina, 4 magic, and 3 mana points from the dozen bodies.
[Strength - 25 (Mid-F) | Dexterity - 25 (Mid-F) | Stamina - 14 (Mid-F) | Magic - 13 (Mid-F) | Mana - 11 (Mid-F)]
'It seems like I can't leech off and expect the same results. I need to drink blood belonging to higher-level players or stronger monsters to get better results.' He quickly conducted in his head. To him, it did suck that its effects were already diminishing, but he would've never been anywhere near where he was currently without the ability to gain stats from drinking blood.
He peered behind at Apollo and Ana who had pale complexions, gulping as their eyes wandered to the corpses. They were surprised that Kim was barfing, hell he didn't even seem shaken at the sight but they disregarded it as a feature of vampires. "C'mon, we got a monster to hunt," Kim spoke, trailing the faded scent that lingered in the air.
As Kim followed the scent that gradually became stronger, the sun also set, an unfamiliar energy churning within his stomach.
[It's the night!]
