Chapter 8 - Blood Control Powers

Ana followed from the side, trapping the beast in.

Loud vibrations could be felt on Kim's feet each time the Orc took a step, it maniacally rushing through trees and bushes with pure red eyes. Kim peeked at his remaining blood and cursed, 'After this, I won't have anymore.' Kim gritted his teeth and extended an arm behind him, unwavering determination in his eyes.

Slowly, a red liquid materialized in his hands, gradually forming into a three-foot blood spear. Kim wasn't an expert at throwing spears, but luckily, with his mind, he could throw them anywhere he wanted. 'Its skin is tough, I won't be able to fully pierce it...' Multiple thoughts sped throughout his head, sweat and nervousness accumulating with every step they neared the frightened Angelina. His eye's seemed to light up as he flipped the blood spear to his left hand. 'But luckily there's a soft spot I made!'

Like a star quarterback, he launched his arm forward, causing the spear to propel at unimaginable speeds toward the enraged beast. 'I don't have to pierce his skin if there's exposed flesh.' He thought with a snicker.

The spear traveled straight at the wound left by Kim on the beast's hip. It was undeniable that the beast would be torn apart, if not dead. "Bye bye bit-"

His mockery was stopped short as a similar arrow shot out from another bush, piercing into his blood spear and nearly ruining it entirely. With awestruck eyes, Kim glanced over and saw another hooded figure with dull green eyes and pointy ears that couldn't be hidden "GOBLINS!" He screamed.

Instantly, an uncountable number of goblins ran out of the trees, swarming Kim and Ana. Such an event was a recipe for disaster. Apollo's state was unknown, but Kim and Ana wouldn't be able to stop the beast with Goblins entering the fight.

'The Goblins aren't the problem, it's this fucking orc!' The speeding orc was now only 15 feet out from Angelina, and Kim was running out of dashes to use. He could see her drawing the arrow, and he hoped for the best. "SHOOT THE LEG!" Angelina briefly lifted her eyebrows but understood, releasing the grip on her arrow that whizzed through the air with a whistle, hitting the beast's leg. With profound success, the arrow penetrated through the leg, coming out the other side of it. "ARGH!" The beast collapsed to the floor and heaved, growls and saliva dribbling from its mouth.

The blood belonging to the beast slowly raised into the air, morphing into a spike shape before it launched at the head of the beast, easily piercing its brain.

[You have reached level 11!]

[2 Stat points rewarded]

'Hehe...' Kim inwardly giggled as he turned around, an army of nearly ten dozen goblins swarmed behind him. 'I think this is the first time I actually wanted stamina.'

Angelina climbed on top of a tree, even more frightened. "WE HAVE TO RETREAT!" She screamed out. Kim stared at the goblins who walked towards them full of lust, wielding a variety of weapons. From clubs to daggers, each one was equipped with light armor, just enough to cover their torso and shoulders. From the side, bright flashes of white slashed through small green creatures, trees sliced down in the aftermath of the attacks. "We're staying, look at Apollo. He's having a feast." He said with a happy smirk.

Angelina looked over and gasped in shock.

Alone, Apollo was massacring groups of goblins mercilessly. Green blood smeared on his body and armor, a crude and brutal ambiance emitting off his body, amplifying with each goblin slayed from his sword. The number of corpses scattered on the floor became an obstacle as their green brethren began stumbling and losing balance, allowing Apollo to secure an easy kill. "Ana, go help your brother. Me and Angelina got these." Ana nodded and dashed off, assisting her brother with swift and deadly attacks.

"You know I won't be able to do much, right?"

Kim smiled. "I know, I just wanted more to myself." He admitted with a bloodthirsty grin on his face.

[Bloodthirst, Stage 1, activated!]

A similar sequence of notifications popped up on his screen, but a very troubling fact arose. "Only 10% boosts? It got halved?"

Kim surely remembered that he gained 20% speed and strength, 15% life steal, and 10% magic stats, but now all of those were halved, besides the boost to his Slicing dash. He instantly blamed the reason for it not being night and made a mental note to remember this.

Nonetheless, the boost was more than enough to maintain his own. After putting both of his available stat points into stamina, he flew forward, meeting the goblins, his intent heavily focused on retaining his #1 spot on the kill's leaderboard. Without wasting time, he activated his skill instantly, claiming two lives of the closest goblins. Kim was slightly baffled as it was too easy to kill them. 'They're weak... Super weak.'

Compared to the Orc, they were merely ants. Kim assumed because they held an alliance, they would at least pose a small challenge, but they couldn't even raise their weapon. Kim loved this; despite the XP gain being super low. He would essentially need approximately 100 kills to level up once, he didn't even wanna know how much blood he would have to drink to get a single stat point. The goblins roared incomprehensible words at Kim, and they quickly went to encircle him. 'You'll think I'll just let it happen, dumbasses!'

Shaping the goblin blood akin to the Orc's, just slightly darker, into sharp pikes, he began launching them at the goblins encircling him, taking lives one by one. Green blood splurted onto the grassy floor, blending in nearly perfectly. Heads of the green, lascivious beasts rolled around, screams and cries resounding from the mouths of the mythological creatures.

Raising his hand, a small portion of the fallen blood rose up, changing into small sharp icicle-like shapes. Fear enveloped the faces of the remaining goblins. Some yelled and some rushed to run away back into the forest. Screams rang out from each direction, screams of pure dread with death following shortly after.

A cold glint shone off his eyes, an uncompromising face empty of emotions staring at the goblins. No words were spoken as he lowered his hand, the hundreds of blood spikes piercing into dozens of goblins instantly. Some died instantly, and others were impaled to the floor. Out of the corner of his eye, Apollo and Ana watched on as he massacred the goblins, assuring each one was sent to hell. Countless notifications appeared on his screen, each of which he disregarded.

The siblings gulped as Kim didn't let up his assault, decapitating or quickly dismembering any goblin in his sight. A few seconds later, he grew a pale complexion and the rain of blood spikes came to a halt. There were no more living goblins among the mass of bodies littered on the floor.

[Congratulations! You are the first to reach 100 kills!]

[Random rarity ticket rewarded!]

A golden ticket slowly came to life in his hand, golden motes wildly hovering around before coming into place. He lifted the ticket up and stared at it with a blank face.

Ana and Apollo watched from the side, confused at the random item to appear in his hands.

Ana peered up, looking at the leaderboard with a smile.

[1. Kim Yun - 105]

[2. Apollo Garol - 89]

[3. Ana Garol - 76]

[4. Angelina Vasquez - 55]

[5. Isaac Gray - 44]

Kim peered at the notification on his screen.

[Do you wish to use your ticket?]

He turned his head to the siblings, then to the leaderboard. After a few minutes without a smile, his lips barely crept up.

He turned back to the siblings and waved his ticket in the air before golden motes surrounded him, then disappeared into thin air.
