Amon opened his eyes and saw a female face in front of him. His vision was blurry, and he couldn't see who it was. He tried to reach out to it, but the blurry figure hurried to the door, opened it, and shouted something to people on the outside.
"Per- ia Amon i- awake." Amon couldn't quite hear what the woman said. But he recognized who the voice belonged to.
"Bruna, what are you? Cought, cought!" Amon wanted to call out to her, but he coughed blood while he was trying to talk.
Buy now Amon managed to get up, step by step. He still couldn't see properly, but he could hear perfectly.
He saw a small, blurry thing running towards him.
"Dad, why do you have to do such reckless things all the time?", "Personia, what happened?"
Amon felt Personia throw herself into his arms and hug him. Amon did not refuse the hug and waited until she calmed down.
After a few minutes, Personia managed to control her; she still used the opportunity to be in Amon's arms but was calm by now.
"Personia, tell me what happened."
"The power feather you had in your hands was cursed. Bruna healed the damage you received from the curse, but the cure is still activated and is going to." Personia couldn't manage to get the last word out.
Bruna at first wondered why Amon didn't question her, but then received the answer that Amon had already been told that Roxanne brought her to their side.
"And you really can't do anything about the curse, Bruna?" Amon questioned. This curse would kill him if nothing happened.
"No, I am able to heal the damage you get from the curse, but I am not a specialist when it comes to curses, and this is something we would need now."
A curse could only be broken by the one who cast it, items, or a specialist who knew what to do when it came to curses.
Amon thought, and then the woman with the best knowledge of curses could be helping now. His wife, Roxanne.
"I assume that Roxanne still isn't healed. Am I right?
Everyone who could count one and one together was able to understand that if Roxanne had been cured by now, she would have been the first one to stand besides Amon while working on a method to disable the curse.
"Yes, Niles and Dorothea are awake by now and already on a good path of recovery. But Roxanne is another story. But I would have the option to cure her. But you will hate it."
Everybody looked at Bruna and hesitated at first, but then Amon spoke as the first and asked, "Then tell me. What method is that?"
"We will let her die, and I will bring her back to life. If I do that, her body gets healed 100 percent. Curses may still be active after I revived the person, but the damage to her body was completely repaired. Trust me, I've done that already many times."
Bruna was well aware that she was still not in a position where others would trust her. But she thought of it as the only way.
"First explain to me how this works, then I will decide."
Amon would either die from this curse or kill his wife without knowing what was going to happen or how it worked.
"Fine, I assume that you know simple math. I see above the heads of anybody a number. Every time you are in a situation where you are harmed psychologically or physically in a way that brings you nearer to death, the number increases.
"When I use my blessing and use the ability to revive someone, a number also appears above my hand. Then, when I use the ability, the number above my hand minus the number above the head of the person I want to revive. I did this multiple times, as I already said, so trust me. You already saw my abilities."
Amon thought, He already saw with his own eyes. That Bruna was able to revive someone, but he hesitated about his wife. After some thought, he agreed.
"Well, we do it."
Amon could slowly see again. He still needed someone to help him walk.
Amon turned to his wife and looked down at her one last time. Today his wife would die, and he would just watch without doing anything.
"Bruna, what do we do now?" Amon asked Bruna. She got closer to Roxanne, but before she could reach Roxanne, Amon blocked her way with his arm.
"Sorry. Just keep going."
Amon responded all by himself. His body stored Bruna as a person who wanted to kill his wife.
"Do you have poison? It would be the easiest way to revive her when she died from poison."
"The number over her head increases the most depending on the reason for death. If she dies from a spell or item, the number increases. If the number is negative, it is impossible to revive that person."
Which was also there. Today, her arm and a green ball appeared floating in the air. Which was as big as her fist.
She filled the green ball into a glass and wanted to give it to Bruna first. But Amon intervened and took the glass without asking.
"I'll do that, understood."
Amon walked closer to Roxanne, put his hand on her cheek, and looked into her eyes. It was as if he was newly in love and couldn't take his eyes off her.
"The day we got married. No, the day I saw you for the first time, I promised you. Never to harm you and to protect you, and now it's me who kills you."
"I'm sorry, I can't keep my promise."
Amon took another good breath, then lifted her head and let the poison slide into her body.
It was not long before she took her last breath.
"Bruna, I hope for your sake that this works. Otherwise, you will die here."
Isabella said these words. Since she herself could not know what Amon would do if it did not work. But it was certain that he would kill her. But how. Was something she didn't even want to think about?
"Oh, don't worry, it already worked. Just look over there."
Bruna pointed in a direction, and in that direction she saw Amon hugging his wife and kissing her as if he and Roxanne were alone in that room.
"Darling, everyone is watching us." Roxanne just wanted to mention that. But wouldn't turn it down.
"Wait, Amon, what happened? Why are you cursed?"
Roxanne's eyes snapped open as she realized this fact, and she jumped frantically and taught Amon.
As she was about to start undressing him to examine him better.
Amon stopped her and said, "It's all right; that's a topic for later."
