"Gentelman, depart for war!"
At Amon's order, all the members of Group B departed; they separated themselves the moment they stepped forward. In their opinion, it would attract too much attention if six individuals covered their bodies and faces with cloaks.
In their opinion, it was far safer if all of them went their separate ways and then met up at a place. All of them, except for Amon, used items that erased their mana signatures; they wanted to move in silence and unnoticed.
Spells or blessings that allowed the user to hide their presence were useless if that magican wouldn't use an item that would block their magical signature. To his luck, Amon did not need something similar to this, and because of this, he only used the shadow step to move, not fast but silent.
Amon gazed around the whole area he was walking in; everywhere he looked were soldiers and magicans from hired guilds, hideouts, and camps. He had an urge to get to them, rip their guts out, and then proceed on his way. But this was something he right now must not do; if the information of a person that roams around and destroys everything that is related to Verdan was true, he would risk too much.
On the route he followed, he had to get through a village; the village was taken over by Verdan, and he took this route not by accident; he planned this. He wanted to walk through the village to get more motivation to kill Verdan.
Right now, he is not interested in seeing things with logic; right now, he only wants everything to be black and white. He knew himself well, and the things he discovered about himself in these last four years were that he performed the best and reached new realms of power whenever he was filled with rage.
He walked inside the village, and the sight was exactly how he imagined it to be; he saw guts, limbs, bones, and dead bodies everywhere. He saw Verdan soldiers who discriminated against the people who lived in the village. He saw how a mother did everything she could to get something to eat for her child.
He saw a young woman who cried over the loss of a person who appeared to be her grandfather. Children without parents His imagination did not create things; he saw them with his own eyes. But what his imagination did was create the image of his guild and the people. He saw the villagers and guild members. This method worked perfectly; he was filled with rage the way he wanted it. He walked with a grin out of the village.
In the past, whenever he showed this smile, his enemies died. The reason why the information that he had powers did not spread three years ago was because he killed nearly everyone who fought with him.
The only people who saw his abilities back then and survived were the twelve coats of arms and a few people he couldn't kill back then. Everything that was not in his power was handled by Leon.
He was filled with bloodlust and the urge to kill. He picked up the pace and moved faster. When he was at the gathering point for Group B, he noticed that he was the last one who came. All the other five were already present and waited for him.
At first, they wanted to greet him, but as they saw the grin on his face, they shut up and said nothing. The Royal Guard in particular did not understand anything. As soon as he saw this smile, he froze. Nobody here could feel Qi, but everybody could feel how serious Amon was.
Cedric grinned, and to an extent, that was similar to Amon's but not that creapy; it was a smile filled with anticipation. This was after all the smile he saw when he was defeated by Amon the very first time.
"Good, Amon, what are we going to do next?" Vlad was shocked by what he saw but calmed himself down when he realized that Amon had not shown this grin to harm them. But to kill Verdan.
The smile disappeared from his face, but his eyes still showed his anger and gave it a similar energy.
"From now on, we will do something reckless and dangerous that could kill us. Look at the river over there."
Amon pointed to a river that was lashing the rocks and mountain walls with a strong current. The current in this river was strong and deadly.
"This river is the only direct connection between Silverwood and the Bloody Mountains. If you jump into it, you'll eventually come out right under the Santalia Bridge, and that's what we're going to do."
The five of them looked at Amon, waiting for him to reveal that this was a joke, but as time passed and he said nothing more, Cedric was the first to move.
"This is going to get funny, and how are we going to survive this? If I am informed correctly, this is the river that is known to have drowned an S-rank magician not too long ago."
This story spread like wildfire for about four months. An S-rank mage drowned in this river after trying to swim from it to this very spot and throwing it to the other side.
"We would drown in it if these two conditions would not apply to us: number one, our hands and legs are tied to the ground, and number two, we don't have these here."
Amon pulled leather bands out of his pocket and explained that it was an item he requested Personia to make when he came up with the idea to throw the river to the Santaria Bridge.
"Leon found not too long ago that this S-Rank mage was tied by his legs and hands and murdered. You only have to think about it: he wanted to swim from here to the other side of the river over there. Cedric, Vlad, or Meng, do you really think that you guys wouldn't be able to swim from here to the tree trunk over there?"
The three of them turned around and looked at the direction, and now that they thought about it, with their blessings or the right spell, they would be able to swim through this river with ease.
"It is not known up to this point, but you three are currently at the level of a weak S-Rank mage. Leon found out that this mage had messed with a powerful noble, who then killed him. But with this item that allows us to breathe under water, all of us should be able to do this. Well, I don't know about the abilities of the Royal Guard, of course, but for me and the three of them and Victor, this should be possible."
Victor was not to be underestimated; his physical abilities were on the same level as Amon's, and he had to train his body every day to not get crushed by the Qi that was circulating around in his body. He also knew many practical spells that would help him in situations like this, and his blessing could also be more practical for a variety of situations.
The Royal Guard looked at the river, and his disposition was clear: 'If I am not even able to survive something like this, I am unworthy of naming myself the Royal Guard of the King.'
The Royal Guard looked with determined eyes at Amon and took the leather band as the first one. Cedric and Vlad took one at the same time. Then Meng, Victor, and Amon took the one that was left. All of them tied the ribbons around their wrists, and one by one, they rode up the river.
"Three." Amon started to count. They made the agreement that Amon would count down from three to zero, and then all of them would jump in at the same time.
"Two, one, zero."
At the moment he said the wordzero, all of them jumped into the water and began to swim, using blessings and spells to not die.
