Chapter 60 - The end of this war

"But your blessing is to use the crystals that you inherit as your body trait; you can sharpen them, enlarge them, use them as protection or weapons—that's it! The king shouted with all his might, still under the effect of the adrenalin that numbed his pain.

"That is all I wanted guys like you to know about it. Let me teach you, dear student. I will give you the honor to be the first student of mine, and then by the end of the lesson, you will graduate with your death."

Leon walked around the cell with a mocking tone. The king was angry and wanted to stand up and punch Leon, even if it was the last punch he would ever hit in his life, but something hindered him from standing up. The numb feeling in his leg slowly faded, and he started to feel a kind of sting. Right now it did not hurt, but he was sure that whatever he felt right now was something like a warning signal that in a few minutes the pain would overwhelm him.

Leon cast a tier one spell called Light Ball into midair to light up the cell. Soon the crystal that was located in his right palm flowed out of his hand, and Leon held it with his thumb and index finger towards the light ball. The crystal had the shape of a prism, as all of the crystals that were located in his skin all over his body did.

If you hold a prism into the light, the refraction of the light at the prism causes the color components to be refracted to different degrees, and the white light is broken down into different colors."

The brilliant white light was refracted by the prism, and the colors of the rainbow showed their splendor.

"These crystals are a mirror to the world that originated in my head—my fantasy. Everyone has created, as a small child, a world in their imagination. As the light shines through these crystals shaped into the form of a prism, it reflects the image of the world that my imagination created and mixes it with reality. Which means that you have seen what I imagined."

"Isn't it funny that the genius king who came up with the grandiose idea of using such an item didn't even realize that he had been torturing air for ages? AHAHAHA!"

Leon's voice, which at first sounded professional, like that of a university professor, turned into a maniacal laugh within seconds, as if he were a demon laughing at the fact that his prey had fallen for him.

"Wait, but how did you then escape from the chains? They should have blocked your mana flow from your mana sight to your mana cour. Without help, that would be, Wait, you had help."

The king came to realize that the very fact that Leon was right with the two people who escaped them truly became his demise.

"You got it; the two people who escaped from here and later on brought me this little toy of mine, of course, freed me from my chains, and then I hid in one of the cells over there pretending to be one of the other prisoners, and now I will show you what I am capable of with my creativity".

On the outside, Amon fought with the help of the eleven from the twelve coats of arms and Bruna against all of the sodiers and guards that were inside the capital; they were on the main square directly in front of the church, which was only a few meters from the castle.

The soldiers fired everything they had and attacked with every single soldier they had, whether squire or general; everyone fought until either the king or the enemy died.

The situation was dire, even if Amon died. The rest were ready to avenge him, but as soon as the king fell, it was over. The symbol of this kingdom and its pride would be gone, and so would their kingdom.

They fought until they heard a loud bang and the sound of a falling object hitting the ground in the main square. Before everyone could even see what hit the ground, Amon shot a beam of air into the glock in the church.

Dong, Dong, Dong, Dong.

On the fourth chime, a general announced what he never wanted to experience in his life.

"The king is dead."

On that day, the king fell from the fourth chime of the bell triggered by the Spellbander guild, and a strange man stood in the place where the king once stood.

It was Leon Camber, the first coat of arms, who ended the war. With a murder.

All the soldiers who fought let their weapons fall and fell to their knees while praising their gods and goddesses.

Amon gathered all his Qi into his legs, jumped up next to Leon, and spread the news to the whole capital.

"Today this king fell, this war ended, and you lost by the hand of this man, Leon Camber, the first coat of arms. Your fate now lies not in the hands of this kingdom or mine, but in yours. Take everything you need, run away, and forget this kingdom and its king forever. Because from today onwards, this kingdom is erased from the existence of this world."

The Royal Guard, who protected Isabella, who was still damaged from the Unkowns attack, saw what real despair looked like as he saw the soldiers and generals lose their eyes. He realized that these eyes were the ones he would have made if he had heard the news that his kingdom had fallen.

He witnessed how the generals and soldiers did what he would have done too. They took their blades, spears, and knives and took their lives. With the king's death, this kingdom fell, and with the fall of the kingdom, they died too.

The capital was silent, and not a single breath was heard except from the dead who took their own lives and the living who walked out of the capital with a trail of tears. With tears in their eyes, they now had to find a way across the mountains that surrounded the capital.

Amon respected them; he knew that Silberwald would do to Verdan exactly what Verdan had done to them when they came here: enslave the people who survived and throw the bodies of the dead into the river.

Even though they were his enemies, they were people who had nothing to do with this war. He let them escape, burned the corpses as a last thought of honor, and went back to his guild, where finally all the coats of arms, no, all his friends, would be reunited.

Reunited at the cost of thousands of lives that died in this war.
