Chapter 32 - A surprising twist

The forest was completely clean by now, and Niles made sure that no one was left.

Niles sat down on a small wooden stool. It was neither comfortable nor uncomfortable; it was somewhere in between. He could sit on it for a while, but when he did, his ass hurt. But right now, he had to sit down for a moment. It was his mission to stay on guard in this tower and watch every single step their enemies took. He was not angry about that; if it had to be, he would sit there until he died. It was just boring up until now; he was not forced to even use his blessing or any kind of magic. All he has done so far is demonstrate his physical ability. His skill with the bow was beyond anyone's imagination. He could cling a fly to a tree from that distance without killing it, and for this ability, he was feared.

Niles reached into his pocket and pulled out a few pieces of dried meat. He always had some with him. It was a habit of his; he never knew when he would lie in wait for days.

And so he waited there for two days.

---

Amon, Leon, Roxanne, Personia, Isabelle, and Aiko were now gathered in Amon's office. They wanted to discuss a few things that were not for everybody's ears.

"Something is off; nothing makes sense." Isabelle said the front line has not moved a single bit in two days. The Verdan kingdom attacked one of two times a day, but nothing changed. There were men wiped out again and again.

"You are right. The Verdan King may be a scaredy cat. But he is not dump." Leon replied. He was sure that he had planned something, but figuring out what it was turned out to be difficult.

"I and the maid squad checked it; they don't try to find another way towards the capital, and Niles also saw nothing, and if that would be okay, we should find someone to assist Niles. I am afraid that he will burn out if that continues. I don't have to mention how he is when he is working." Aiko was concerned about him; she knew that every time he got to attend a quest or had to do something else for the guild, he would always work himself to death and wouldn't even notice it.

Amon nodded and said that she should personally pick someone to do that or do it herself. She was the most skilled maid when it came to everything, but she made sure to educate them so that they were able to manage every situation with ease.

Aiko bowed down and opened the door, but before she went, she turned around and added, "Before I forget it, this Bruna did nothing suspicious; it looks like she is more concerned about the war than spying on us."

When she said what she said, she turned into a shadow and disappeared so fast that it looked as if she had never been here in the first place.

Everyone in the room was relieved that they had one less thing to worry about.

"Good, then let's try this; I need the help of every single one of you, so come." Nobody knew what Personia wanted, but one thing was sure: If she said something like this, refusing would be the dumbest thing that happened in this century.

Personia slammed open the door and left the room. Everyone came after her; they all didn't waste any time. When everyone was outside, Personia took the glowing white crystal out of the pocket she sewed onto her dress and teleported everyone to her lab. But it wasn't a normal laboratory; it was her personal laboratory. No one but her was allowed to enter, not even her right hand.

"So this is your personal lab. I would have never imagined seeing it with my own eyes."

In the lab stood various things. There was a glowing green rock lying on a table. A golden-colored cube on a bed that had many symbols engraved into it, and in the left corner of the room stood a huge glass tank filled with water. Nobody knew what it was or what any of the things in this room were; the rest looked like tools used to make these things.

Persoia lay on her stomach on the floor and reached under her bed. After struggling to catch what she wanted, she pulled a silver goblet from under her bed and placed it on the large lab table that stood in the middle of the room. She grabbed a small lab coat that fit her perfectly and began to explain what this was all about.

"This is an information-corrupting item; it is not done, and I need your help with it. Amon is behind you!" Personia shouted in fear. Amon turned around and saw a soldier attack him with a spear. Amon grabbed the spear, pulled the man towards him, and punched towards his chest. The punch was powerful enough to stop the man's heartbeat, and he died.

"What the fuck was that?" Amon asked; he had no idea what that was.

"Amon, the enemy, is inside the castle; they ported themselves."

"What the fuck was that?" Amon asked; he had no idea what that was.

"Amon, the enemy, is inside the castle; they ported themselves."

"What, Arthur? That makes no sense." Amon shouted; he heard Arthur's voice clearly, but his did not come back to Arthur; he had no communication item.

"Amon, various soldiers spawned in the forest; they are many. Dorothea and the others are fighting right now. I will take out everything that I can." Niles said before sniping a few soldiers.

The soldiers spawned everywhere in the guild building. The guild members who could fight did everything they could to defend the guild. But the soldiers were strong; they fought their way through the guild building. They fought their way through and headed towards Amon's office until they were stopped by a line of maids. With Aiko at the front, she ran back as soon as she heard what happened.

Aiko stepped forward, bowed down gracefully, and said, "The young master is not present today. So I have to tell you that you are not allowed to go any further, and if you do so, we will have to stop you." Aiko's face became so dark that only her eyes and her mouth were visible. She pulled a black dagger out of her shadow and pointed it towards her enemies. The maids behind her did similar things. They brought out spears, axes, swords, daggers, whips, chains, bows, and every weapon you could think of.

SHING!

And before anyone could see a thing, Aiko held three heads in her left hand. She held them by their hair and showed them to their companions.

The rest of the maids attacked as well. They fought better together than any military unit. They thought that they had wiped out everyone but one was left and attacked Aiko from behind.

BAM!

Amon hit the head of the man with a mettle staf and slammed his head so hard that the man's brain was plettered on the wall.

"We will have to clean that later on." Amon said this while looking towards the sain that was on the wall.

"No problem master we will clean everything in this castle." All the maids said at the same time.
