Amon stood now, right in front of the imperial palace's gates.
He walked up the stairs, walked inside, and went straight to his room. He had an urge to see his wife. He opened the door, went inside, and looked into the eyes of his wife.
Suddenly, "Amon, Roxanne, you have to come back. We have a serious problem!"
Amon and Roxanne heard his voice at the same time and dashed out of the palace. Before leaving, Roxanne ran towards Ruby and informed her that they had to leave. Amon did the same with Yumeko.
Both nodded.
Amon and Yumeko made a deal that she would come to his guild in a few days.
When everyone was done, they headed together to the front gate. Amon and Roxanne ran like their lives depended on it. Amon's breath became irregular.
Amon reached into his suit pocket, pulled out a small clay jar, and broke it. The clay jar shattered on the ground, just like Amon's patience.
At that moment, Amon and Roxanne were back in Amon's office.
It was a transport item that could be used at any time. To bring someone back to a previously set destination.
Amon and Roxanne ran as fast as they could to the Hall of Crests. Amon dashed toward the door and kicked it open in rage. The door slammed open and hit the wall on the inside.
"What happened!" Amon shouted. His voice was so loud that it even struck the coats of arms down, and now all of the twelve coats of arms were gathered in this room.
Leon stood up and spoke: "A war broke out between this kingdom and the neighboring one, the Verdan."
Amon's mood hit rock bottom, but he had to calm down. Amon said nothing, and he got to his seat. I sat down and listened to the explanation.
"Trooping kingdoms are on their way to making hell wherever they go," Leon said.
In this world, where there were mages with powerful abilities, a war was like a natural disaster. The kingdom in which Spellbander is located is the Silverwood kingdom, and it has been on bad terms with the Verdan kingdom since gererations.
Spellbander was in a forest five hours by horse from the border of the Verdan kingdom.
Arthur raised his hand and spoke, "The king will try to get members of this guild to fight in the war. Amon, what is your plan?"
If the guild would participate in the war, it was now Amon's decision. It was strictly forbidden for a king or emperor to force a guild to participate in a war. But if a guild wants to, they can, of course, fight alongside their kingdom in the war.
"Verdan is probably the one who declared war, and the Silverwood kindom is clearly too weak to defend itself against the Verdan kingdom."
Amon had no intention of participating in a war. In his guild, there were members who did not have the strength to fight. He said that if the Verdan kingdom decided to attack the guild, He would go to war.
"No, we help the citizens in the villages and towns. When a citizen seeks shelter. Check them out, and then let them in. If we are attacked, we have no choice."
This was his decision, and the twelve coats of arms agreed. Everyone was tense, but everyone could still think clearly. They knew that participating in a war would only result in needless casualties and nothing more.
"Niles, you keep an eye out for enemy troops. Inform Dorothea, Cedrik, Victor, and Vlad immediately. The four are responsible for defending the castle to the utmost."
Niles was a 28-year-old man with a slim, muscular body, short brown hair, an eyepatch over his left eye, and gray skin as his body trait. He was 180 cm tall.
He dashed out. The other four were out so fast that you couldn't even see them. Everyone goes straight to their posts. Ready to rip the guts out of their opponents. Especially Cedric, who was probably the only one who wanted a war. He stood on top of a huge rock. He was ready. He felt like the wind blowing through this long black hair, and his sharp black eyes watched all over the place, wondering who would turn out to be a battle fief in the future. He had scars all over his body. He is 188 cm tall, and his body trait was a huge red glowing ball that was located at the center of his chest, and he did not hide it. His clothes were torn apart so that you could clearly see the blood-red, glowing ball. Victor and Vlad hid in the forest so that they were not visible to the others.
"Isabelle, Roxanne, and Arthur, you will take care of everything related to the guild members. If people are looking for quarters with us, then you are also responsible for them."
Isabelle is 166 cm tall with D-cup breasts and green hair; she wore a slim suit that matched her body features, and the veins in her body glow green. It looked like a virus that spread all over her body like a spider web. She is the nineth coat of arms. She was good at healing people, together with Arthur, the fifth coat of arms, who was normally responsible for the staff. Always woke up perfectly as a team, and Roxanne is able to contribute in any way; no matter what job she was given, she was able to do something with her skills. On top of that, Isabelle is one of Roxanne's best friends.
"Björn, you are responsible for creating weapons and armor, like always. Leon, Personia, and the rest will come with me. We will sort out a plan and prepare a tactic if the war reaches this castle."
Amon waved his arm forward as if remembering his troops. Everyone ran, and the tension grew. Everyone ran out of the door and informed everyone what was going on.
Amon's breathing got heavier and more irregular; he had never fought in a war in his life. He went through a lot, fought many cruel battles, and threw himself into battle with monsters without hesitation, but a war was a new experience even for him.
Everybody hurried from the left to the right and prepared everything. Nobody dared to make even a single mistake, and everybody had the wish that it should never happen. That the army of the Verdan kingdom would pass by them.
But Amon knew one thing: nobody who understood a little bit about war tactics would not take the chance and use the guild base as a quater or base.
He prepared everything he would need, and he knew one thing: if the war came, no matter if it was his own kingdom or another, He would fight, he would protect, and he would do that until his last breath. The stage was set, and the story of a tragic war began.
A war that would go down in history for its ferocity.
A war that would change the balance of power on this continent.
And a war that would be known for how unnecessary it was and for what terrible deeds one was capable of. When something was at stake that was more important than your own life.
And a war that would show how quickly life actually ends.
