Einar walked quickly to the garden, covering tens of meters with each step. He was not running but simply using more force in his legs to reach his destination faster.
Yet, even though he was just using a little force in his legs to fasten his steps, he still reached the garden, which is situated in the backyard a few kilometers away from the throne hall in a matter of seconds.
From the outside, the place that Einar was currently looking at was more like a container than a garden.
It was wholly covered with walls from each side, making anyone who wanna get into the space inside of the container get permission from the guard standing in front of the gate, which is something very unusual to be seen in the main tower of the castle.
Logically speaking, the only place that needed such thick walls that not even a fourth realm mage or warrior could penetrate with ease was only the treasure vault which held the important precious items and resources of the kingdom.
Yet, in a place where everyone was supposed to wander around, a container that wasn't a bit less protected than the treasure vault was situated in the backyard of the castle. As a matter of fact, even the guard himself was someone not to be trifled with, as he could easily go toe-to-toe with a fourth-realm mage or warrior.
The container, on the other hand, will only surprise anyone foreign to the king's paranoid personality and fear of letting anyone take a look at his special pets. Hence no one will really care about it and turn a blind eye to it.
" Open the door and follow me inside."
Einar looked down at the sleeping grey dragon guarding the black door and ordered, his tone clearly showing no signs of wanting to talk any more than what he already said.
The giant grey dragon rose lazily, stretching its massive body spanning tens of meters.
He opened his mouth slightly, and a beam of gray light shot out, hitting the door.
The ashen energy beam quickly spread over the door, illuminating multiple grey holes.
Click!
With a loud sound, a click reached the dragon and human ears notifying them that the door had been opened.
Cling!
Einar didn't wait any longer and instantly rushed inside the container pushing the door that was already open with his right hand and entering; the dragon didn't linger any longer outside and also followed behind the king.
The dragon's huge body, which towered over ten meters, wasn't met with any resistance since the door itself was basically the whole front thick wall that spanned tens of meters from each side and towered over tens of meters.
The moment the king and dragon walked through the door, they were instantly met with the magnificent sight of the garden.
Fragrant bushes and shrubs encircled a messy patch of grass—a greenhouse standing near the back of the garden, offering a garden within a garden. The flowers and plants are slightly overgrown but look otherwise in great shape; they're buzzing with insects.
The bushes and shrubs reach 1m/3ft high, but this is deliberate, as they grow far bigger in the wild.
A couple of messages carved on stones are spread around the garden, beckoning people to explore the garden and showing them the best sights at the same time. Plants and flowers are trying to reclaim every part of the garden, always searching for new places to grow and expand.
The greenhouse claims all the glory within the garden as it outshines all others. The flowers and plants do deserve some credit, and the bushes and shrubs definitely try to claim their share of the glory, but nothing beats the majesty of the greenhouse.
Einar was the one who personally designed this garden, so he didn't take long before he focused his attention on the reason he sped up to this place.
" Is he inside of the greenhouse? Why isn't he coming out to see me?"
The dragon that stood slightly behind the king began to report everything that happened after they brought the baby dragon to this place.
" He had fallen asleep after he entered the greenhouse and never left since then; it has only been a few hours, so that's normal; I think he is still digesting the information provided by his eggshell, how magic works, spells and all of that different stuff."
Einar nodded, understanding why the dragon ignored him after he spread his spirit sense toward him.
He wasn't bothered by that since his reason for coming here wasn't to meet the baby dragon in the first place but instead to leave instructions to his pet.
"As I told you a little earlier on our way to the city, I'm gonna be heading out to the empire to explain the situation to them in case they misunderstood my intentions. In the meantime, I want you to take care of the dragon, show him around, and teach him various things."
The dragon slightly nodded his head and then inquired about something," If I'm not mistaken, master, you don't want me to treat him the same way as the other dragons since this one is special, any instructions on that point?"
Einar was slightly taken aback by the question his pet asked since he didn't imagine this beast of a dragon would be able to think by himself to that degree, but he quickly ordered him what to do with the baby dragon.
The dragon noticed that slight change of expression on his master's face but didn't react to it and only rolled his eyes inwardly, sneering in disdain,' Oh master, haven't they taught you that dragons are smarter than humans, or was your history long forgotten? Sadly we have to act dumb if we want to survive between you. Even our pride and arrogance had long been suppressed by us at the moment of our birth so that we don't get killed by you.'
" The instructions are slightly different from the other baby dragons. For starters, I want you to take him to the jungle around the city every day at night so he can train and grow stronger. Also, teach him everything there is about humans and how he should treat them, don't forget to mention becoming a pet from time to time so when I finally make a contract with him, he doesn't reject it or go berserker afterward."
Einar then kept guiding him with a few more things he should do around his new dragon pet, what to show him and what not.
It took several minutes for Einar to stop talking, but when he did so, he quickly gave an emblem to his pet ordering him to gift it to the dragon on his behalf, and left the garden, clearly not having any time to waste in here.
