Chereads / Awakening of the Dragon God / Chapter 17 - Current Situation.

Chapter 17 - Current Situation.

Sam pushed the door open, stepped out of the greenhouse, and looked around him.

Forest?

No, this is not a forest.

It's a garden surrounded by some kind of metal.

This was the only conclusion that appeared in his mind the moment he saw his surroundings. Multiple flowers varying in color, shape, and size were all around Sam. He could also hear some birds chirping, and he heard the buzzing of insects. The smell of nature also immediately assaulted him.

' Sure enough, that young man who is supposedly a king has brought me to his castle and thrown me to his garden or something like that, if I'm not mistaken.' Sam thought as he looked around.

Sam slowly walked towards the clear path in front of him, devoid of any flowers or life forms, and while doing so, he immediately noticed something peculiar.

' Isn't that the dragon the young man was mounting on when he came to take me? Well, I guess this is something to be expected since it's better to let a dragon interact with another dragon than a human in his first years.'

' Or is that really the case? Not like I know how dragons act in the first place or what is needed for them in their early years, but who cares anyway? Let's see how this will play out.' Sam thought as he approached the grey dragon.

Sam looked at the walls surrounding the massive garden, and his brows furrowed.

' Walls, huh? Maybe this is meant to keep me here?' Sam thought.

As he was thinking about his surroundings and the reason these walls even existed around a garden in the first place, a cold domineering voice sounded from his front, getting Sam's full attention.

" Don't be nervous little dragon. These walls are not meant to keep you here; they are built to protect the resources this garden provides for the king and his family, your freedom is guaranteed, and if you wish for it, you can walk out through the door behind me without anyone stopping you."

' Did he read my thoughts? No, that can't be possible; he is just a dragon with no great streng..' But before he could even finish his own speculations, the grey dragon answered his questions after he noticed the change in his expression.

" We dragons are beings that seek freedom the moment we are hatched; it's not so hard to guess your train of thoughts the moment you meet such a situation where thick walls from every direction surround you."

' Seems like I was just overthinking things. So that's the door.' Sam thought as he looked at the crack the grey dragon was pointing at with his long sharp claw.

The dragon was ordered to treat this one differently, so for the next few minutes; he patiently awaited the little black dragon covered with platinum-like scales around his neck like a gorgeous necklace that required an entire kingdom's wealth to buy.

' True dragon, huh? Very interesting. Let's just hope that rumor I once heard from that friend of mine is truly just a rumor.' The grey dragon thought as he kept checking out Sam the whole time, a hint of interest accompanied by some anxiety flashing past his eyes.

After some time had passed, Sam finally stood in front of the grey dragon.

He wasn't intimidated in the slightest since he had already seen him before and knew that he was most likely here to guide him, keep an eye on him, or something along those lines.

He wasn't ignorant of human greed and their love for wealth and power.

From his understanding of his value, after he heard Derek and Don's conversation about him, no one will be able to resist the urge to sell him for gold or raise him and use him for other means.

Even though Sam didn't know what the king had in mind, he still guessed a thing or two, but since he had no information, so to speak, he decided to follow the ordinary flow of events for now and see what happens in the next days.

He is bound to escape if he wants to start his journey to reach the pinnacle of this world, but he first wants to know what humans think of dragons and what dragons think of humans.

And most importantly.

What did dragons think of other dragons that had a superior bloodline than them!

Indeed!

The moment he digested the information provided by his eggshell.

Except for the few basic spells he got and the information about magic and all the things related to that subject, he also came to learn about his bloodline and his standings among dragons.

From what he learned, he is a true dragon of the royal bloodline, which is the highest and purest bloodline of all dragons.

Sam was shocked by the information he received since he knew that things would only be worse the rarer he was since humans were bound to be greedy for his body and also the fact that he was currently in a king's hands, but the following information shocked him even more, but this time, it was a positive shock.

The information clearly stated that he could order any dragon with a lower bloodline than him.

At the same time, said dragons are prohibited from conversing with him in a bossy manner, yelling at him, or disobeying his orders.

Unfortunately, his astonishment didn't last long as he was soon met with information that balanced the previous ones.

Which is the fact that he needed to be one rank lower than a lower bloodline dragon if he wished to order him around.

So simply put, he can't go around ordering dragons to do his things; he first needs strength.

Subsequently, after the grey dragon gave Sam enough time to calm down his inner feelings and the pressure he was currently experiencing from being surrounded by thick walls around him, he spoke.

" Before I tell you a few things and show you around, let's start by giving me your true name."

'
