[The rules are simple! It's similar to the Main Scenario, of course!] The Seonbi explained, crossing its arms into its chest, hovering in the air. Its voice was loud and clear, echoing through the crowd of people who gathered around it.
The people listened to the instructions of the Sub-scenario with mixed expressions of curiosity, fear, and excitement. Min-beom scratched the back of his head, staring at the creature. He wondered what kind of Sub-scenario it had prepared for them.
He glanced at Seo-joon and Hanyeong who were talking with each other in a low voice, they seem to be discussing something private and important. Min-beom couldn't help but feel a surge of curiosity, though, he didn't want to eavesdrop.
[-Alright, I hope you mere mortals gets it.] The Seonbi said, clasping its hands together and then smiled menacingly. Its eyes gleamed with mischief and malice.
[I hope you will survive the entire Sub-scenario~] It said as it snapped its fingers, disappearing in thin air.
The crowd started to whisper with each other as the chatters filled the confusing air, Min-beom let out a sigh and brought up his screen, where the sub-scenario displayed.
'Damn… I should've listened to the details of the Seonbi.'
He scrolled through the screen and pressed the sub-scenario information, to see the entails of the scenario. Min-beom scanned the details of the scenario, raising his left eyebrow out of curiosity.
'Ah… I thought it's another gate.'
[Sub-scenario two - Category: Sub]
[Objective: Scavenging Hunt and Loot Hunt.] - [Time remaining: None.] - [To complete: Loot and scavenge.] - [Penalty for failure: None.]
'Simple sub-scenario.' He swiped the screen away, dismissing it as he crossed both of his arms into his chest, then let out another sigh.
'Now that the Gods are watching us, I cannot do anything stupid.'
"Nervous, Chun-ssi?" Ha-wook said as he wrapped his arm around his shoulder and then winked at him.
"Don't be nervous, man! It's just another Sub-scenario." He tried to cheer him up with his friendly tone and gesture.
"So, where shall we start scavenging?" Chun-ja asked as her sword appeared in her hand out of thin air. She looked around with a determined expression on her face. Seong-mi walked in and put her other hand into her hip.
"Park-ssi and Shin-nim said that the train is working now." She informed them with a confident smile.
"Well then, we could go in now." Ha-wook said with a bright smile and unwrapped his arm around Min-beom shoulder, before leaving, he patted his shoulder.
"Oh hoo! Alright!" Chun-ja cheered as she followed Ha-wook from behind, swinging her sword in excitement. The little girl held Min-beom's hand and then smiled up warmly at him. She looked like she was ready for an adventure.
Several people were taking their leave, some stayed in the subway, some went up in the city while the others went to the train.
Min-beom and Bon-hwa followed Ha-wook into the train, Bon-hwa sat down the seat beside Chun-ja as they chat with each other, chuckling. Min-beom smiled at them and shifted his gaze to the others inside the train.
There were only several people inside the train, some were standing, some were sitting.
He glanced at Seong-mi, Ha-wook and Jung-lee, talking with each other about something, he couldn't help but feel curious as he approached them.
"Hey, guys." He waved with an awkward smile as Seong-mi turned around to look at him.
"Oh, hey, Min-beom." She greeted him with a friendly smile. Ha-wook gave him a smile then a pat on the shoulder.
"Hey, Chun-nim! What's up?" He asked him casually and wrapped his arm around his shoulder, making him flinch slightly and chuckle awkwardly but he wasn't uncomfortable.
"I couldn't help but overhear your conversation… What are you guys talking about?" He asked, raising his eyebrows curiously and innocently.
Seong-mi and Jung-lee exchanged glances before looking at Min-beom again,
"A small plan for the Sub-scenario, that's all." Jung-lee answered calmly, keeping his posture proper as he held onto his spear.
Min-beom nodded slowly in response as the train started to move, Ha-wook unwrapped his arm around his shoulder and then sat down in the nearby seat.
"Sit down guys, it's moving now!" Ha-wook exclaimed excitedly like a child as he grinned, resting in the seat comfortably.
The others chattered with each other as the train moved, Min-beom sat down beside Chun-ja, looking up in the ceiling, staring at the lights as they flashed in his face. He shook his head and then sighed, leaning his back in the seat, closing his eyes.
Min-beom could hear the noise of the engine and the chatter of the passengers, he took a deep breath, he wanted to rest for a bit and escape from reality for now. He suddenly heard whispers of his name, it was quiet, but it was becoming a bit louder. It was like a voice of an angel again.
All he saw was nothing but darkness, he couldn't open his eyes as the whispers became loud and clear, then.
*Halt!*
His eyes opened wide, he glanced at the confused people as he looked at the window, they were on a bridge and the train had stopped, Ha-wook stood up from his seat as he stared at the window, it was afternoon, the cities were all smoking and ruins. The water was slightly grey.
"Everyone don't panic. This is perfectly normal!"
Hanyeong shouted, trying to calm them all down, Min-beom stood up from his seat as they heard something… A loud growl outside.
The passengers started to panic as the little girl stood up from her seat and hugged Min-beom. "Ahjussi…! I'm scared…"
Bon-hwa whimpered as she hugged him tightly. Min-beom ruffled her hair, trying to comfort her.
The train started to shake, making everyone more panicked.
"Madam Hanyeong! The train is not working anymore!" Seo-joon said, sounding nervous as he panted heavily. Everyone started to scream.
Ha-wook looked around, he went to the entrance door of the train. "Can this open?" He asked, looking at Hanyeong and Seo-joon.
"I'll try!" Seo-joon said as he ran to the conductor room. The door opened but only slightly, the lights in the ceiling started to flicker as everyone feared for their lives. "Hey! Choi-ssi!" Min-beom shouted as he pointed at the slightly opened door.
[The character, Choi Ha-wook had an idea on your suggestion!] A screen popped up in front of Min-beom as he dismissed it.
Ha-wook suddenly had an idea as he put both of his hands in the sliding door at the sides, he took a deep breath as his eyes and fingertips glowed brightly.
[Super Strength [skill] is now Activated!] A screen appeared in front of Ha-wook, he let out a yell as he forcefully opened the door with full strength. Min-beom smiled as the others had hope on Ha-wook.
[Several Gods are praising Choi Ha-wook for his effort!]
Once the door was fully opened, the others rushed out quickly in nervousness, The others fled while some tried to find a way to get out of the bridge. Min-beom and the others left the broken train, panting heavily as a creature appeared out of thin air. It was the Seonbi again.
Min-beom raised his eyebrows confusedly as he felt Bon-hwa's grip on his hand tighten.
[Ahem! Hello! Hello! I apologize for breaking the train~] The Seonbi said, giggling devilishly which pissed Seo-joon and Hanyeong.
"Y-You're the one who sabotaged the train!?" Hanyeong yelled as she clenched her fists, her bow appearing out of nowhere.
[Ah, no need for violence, darling!] The Seonbi chuckled menacingly as it glared at them with a deadly look.
[I COULD KILL YOU IN ONE SNAP.] It threatened, making Hanyeong flinch slightly as she held onto her bow.
The Seonbi cleared its throat and spread its arms open, [You people seem interesting for a short scenario… Especially you!] The Seonbi announced as it pointed at Min-beom, his eyes widened.
'What…? Me?' He bit his bottom lip as he clenched his fist. The Seonbi nodded and let out a giggle.
[Don't be that surprised~ The Gods will start to watch you very closely since you have been chosen as the spotlight mortal for this short scenario!]
[You like golds, don't you?] The Seonbi continued with a smirk on its face. Min-beom didn't respond as he rolled his eyes, Bon-hwa stared at the creature in confusion.
"But, you just gave us some sub-scenario?" One of the people in the crowd asked, raising his hand up. The Seonbi clicked its tongue and shook its head slowly.
[You mortals don't really understand how the system works…] It said with a sigh of exasperation.
[It's just an extra for the Gods' entertainment! It'll be fun and the rewards are really worth it~ I also need it for promotion.] The Seonbi giggled as it clasped both of its hands together. Min-beom gulped as his face became slightly pale.
'Now that the Gods will keep a close eye on me... I can't act suspicious.' Min-beom shook his head and lets out a sigh of frustration.
[Let the show begin!]
