Chapter 17 - Episode 4 - Survival and Contract (1)

[The Contract is now sealed~] The Seonbi repeated as it giggled gleefully, as if it was proud of its accomplishment.

Min-beom took a look of his left hand, seeing his index nail missing and a lot of blood, trickling down the ground, as if he had lost a finger. He hissed in pain, feeling a surge of deja vu but he just shook the feeling off.

"It f*cking hurts." He muttered painfully as he clenched his hand, as if he was trying to stop the bleeding.

[It'll heal, don't worry. Experience the pain to achieve something.] It said shrugging off, it didn't care about his suffering. A screen appeared in front of Hayan as he looked at it.

[The Vision Gods and the others will be returning in 50s!] The screen announced as the Seonbi dismissed it, as if it was not afraid of the Gods. He glanced at Min-beom for the last time.

[Better get going, farewell~] The Seonbi chuckled menacingly as it snapped its fingers, disappearing out of thin air, as if it was leaving him to his fate. He looked up at the stars in the night sky, feeling the pain subside slightly, he looked at the tunnel where the others had gone in.

"I should find them…" He whispered under his breath as he walked into the tunnel, keeping his guard up despite the pain he's feeling.

His footsteps echoed in the dim tunnel, he couldn't see much.

'Only if I have a light with me…' He sighed in disappointment as he stopped walking, feeling that he was lost and hopeless in the darkness.

He brought up his screen as he noticed that his screen was bright, it could help him fight the darkness. He smiled slightly, as if he had found a solution to his problem. Min-beom felt a surge of confidence in him as he didn't bother closing the screen in front of him.

'I'm so smart.' He praised himself as he continued to walk in the dim tunnel, still feeling the pain in his finger. He ignored the pain, he was determined to find his way out. As he walked through the train tracks, he decided to view his attribute screen, he was still on the same level.

He felt a pang of disappointment as he facepalmed, as if he was frustrated by his lack of progress. He wanted to be in the highest level not level ten.

Min-beom let out a yawn as he looked around the tunnel, as if he was bored and tired. It was dark and murky, he could hear the occasional passing insects in his surroundings, the rusty train tracks and a rotten smell.

"What the hell is that smell?.." He coughed slightly, his cough echoing through the dark tunnel, he was disturbed by the odor.

He stepped onto something accidentally. He quickly froze, feeling something under his boots. It was uncomfortable and it smelled rotten, he looked down and saw a melted head of a loot creature.

Min-beom felt a nausea as he covered his mouth, as if he was about to vomit. 'What the hell?!'

His eyes widened in recognition as he looked around the dim murky tunnel, searching for any clues around. 'Melted head… Wait, that bastard had gone into this tunnel as well!'

'I hope I won't encounter him in the station…' He let out a sigh as he continued to walk, as if he was resigned to his fate. The sounds of an insects crept him out slightly, but he kept his guard up, in case for any ambush, alert and cautious yet curious.

Suddenly, he heard a growl behind him, he looked behind him and stopped walking, feeling a cold sweat on his head, feeling nervous and scared. He clenched his fists, preparing himself as he summoned his common sword, appearing in his hand, he was ready to fight.

He didn't speak or make any noise, waiting for something to happen as he gripped onto his sword, he was tense and anxious.

All of the sudden, there was a loud growl behind him and a saliva trickling down the ground as he froze, paralyzed by fear.

He turned around, looking up, seeing the sight of the terrifying monster. Massive, eight legs, Cyan dark eyes, cold, with fangs and it was a Rank E loot monster [The Frost Spider.] Its eyes bore into his, making him flinch, intimidated by its gaze.

'These loot monsters always everywhere…' He let out a sigh of nervousness and annoyance as he felt his heart pounding and his palms sweating.

The frost spider hissed and began to attack him, he quickly went to the other side, dodging its attack as it snapped its jaws inches away from his face. It growled loudly as it shook its head in frustration.

Min-beom quickly went behind the monster and made a run for it, as it chased him with its eight legs moving swiftly. He breathed heavily, feeling the pain in his index finger, as he saw blood dripping from his wound. He tried to ignore it while he ran in the train tracks, hoping he was close to the station.

The frost spider let out a loud shriek, as it summoned small creatures from its back, as if it was calling for reinforcements. Min-beom couldn't help but tilt his head behind, seeing the spider with small creatures on its side.

He shifted his gaze back to the dim tunnel, still had his screen open in front of him as he felt a surge of panic and nervousness, he was trapped and outnumbered by the creatures.

'I need to fight these creatures… They won't stop chasing me!'

He shook his head as he went to the other side, as if he was looking for a better spot to fight. He stopped and gripped onto his sword as the monsters closed in, as if they were ready to tear him apart.

Min-beom lunged at them with full force, wielding his sword onto its eight legs, slicing it with ease and speed. He felt the blade cutting through the flesh and bone, as if he was cutting through butter.

He clutched onto his sword as he saw the small creatures charging at him, he quickly took a deep breath as he prepared himself for the next attack. He pierced his sword right through it, slicing it in half as it let out a final shriek of pain. Its body fell down the ground as blood spurted from its wound.

He panted heavily as he saw the massive frost spider trying to shoot ice webs at him while bleeding out, it was desperate to catch him. He quickly aimed his sword to the spider, dodging its webs as they flew past his head and stuck to the walls. He sliced its body in half, as it gasped and twitched. Its lifeless body dropped down the ground, staining the ground and train tracks in blue muddy blood.

"Good thing those aren't the most powerful creatures…" He muttered in heavy breaths as he wiped his sword with a cloth, cleaning his weapon. He saw the loot materials drop into the ground such as, Frost Silk, Spider Eyes and Spider Venoms.

'These loot materials could be helpful.'

He grabbed the loot drops in the ground, as he felt their texture and weight, examining their quality. He quickly analyzed the materials with his ability. A screen appeared in front of him.

[Frost Silks - Can be consumed, immediately boosts up ATK at 28% and Cold Resistance in 100s. Will decrease health by 3 HP.]

[Spider Eyes - Can be consumed, immediately boosts up DEF at 10% in 120s. Will decrease health by 7 HP.]

[Spider Venoms - Can't be consumed, can use in battles and scenarios to poison enemies, decreasing its health by 10-45 HP in 70s.]

'Spider Venom is the most useful here.'

He shrugged as the loot materials disappeared in his hands, as if they were absorbed by his body. A screen appearing in front of him: [Frost Silks 6x, Spider Eyes 7x, and Spider Venoms 2x had been stored in inventory!]

Min-beom continued to walk down the tunnel as he saw a station nearby with people on it, and electricity too. There was a train in the train tracks, but it wasn't moving. It must've been malfunctioned.

When he reached the station, he lifted himself up as he saw some few survivors, he was relieved to see other humans. It was a bit crowded but not too much. He scanned his surroundings, searching for the others as he hoped they were safe somewhere.

"Hey! Stop right there!"
