Chapter 15 - Episode 3 - Game Over! (3)

Min-beom felt his skin all cold and the sound of the water, it was soothing for him.

He only hoped for one thing, and it was the wish of being dead. He didn't want to be in this cruel world, he never wished to be there and even in his original world.

"Min-beom, wake up." A familiar voice said, it was a warm voice like it was from an angel.

[A New ability has been unlocked.]

"Wake up, it's not your time yet." The voice continued.

[YOU HAD FAILED THE EXTRA SCENARIO.]

All of a sudden, he felt himself getting lifted up from the water, like he was floating then he felt a hard surface beneath him. He opened his eyes, fluttering slowly as he saw that he was outside the tunnel but there were no people there, except, there was a creature humming, hovering in the air.

He sat up and felt a sharp pain in his head, he groaned in pain as he looked around, he was on the bridge and the broken train was still on the opposite side of the bridge.

Min-beom's eyes widened when he saw that the sun had already set and it was night, he shifted his gaze back to the creature who was busy doing something on the screen behind.

"A... Seonbi?" Min-beom murmured to himself as the creature turned around.

It was a minuscule and charming creature with white fur, no larger than a box. It had golden eyes that mirrored the serpent's pupils, black horns on its head and an earpiece microphone. It was clad in a black formal suit.

'Yep, it's definitely the Seonbi.'

[Ah! You're awake!] The Seonbi said, sounding cheerful as Min-beom rose from the ground, his clothes drenched and grimy, along with his hair. He felt a flood of confusion and curiosity, wondering what he was doing in here.

Min-beom observed that the wounds had disappeared out of nowhere, he no longer felt a throbbing pain in his body.

"What the heck am I doing here?" Min-beom asked as he turned his head to the other side of the collapsed bridge, he gazed at the dark empty tunnel and at the night sky.

'How long was I in that water?'

He took a curious peek down the edge of the collapsed bridge, spotting the gray water and creatures in the deep cold waters.

[Do you want to go back there?] The Seonbi said, raising a brow as it eyed him curiously. Min-beom quickly shook his head and raised both of his hands up, "I-I rather not…" He muttered.

The Seonbi nodded slowly as it summoned its screen again, tapping and scrolling through the holographic screen. Min-beom stared at the creature.

'I wonder what's this creature's real name…'

After a few minutes, The Seonbi exhaled a sigh and swiped the screen away.

[You mere mortal, you have been staring at me for a while.]

The Seonbi said, sounding a bit offended as Min-beom emitted an awkward chuckle, scratching the back of his head, a screen appeared in front of him.

'[The Seonbi is cautious of your intentions.]'

"I… I was just curious."

He responded as The Seonbi nodded slowly, feeling a hint of suspicion towards him, he exhaled a sigh of relief as he examined his surroundings.

When he glanced back at the broken train at the opposite end of the bridge, he raised his eyebrows, recalling the events of what had happened in the extra scenario.

"I… uh, what happened to the extra scenario?" He couldn't help but ask the Seonbi what had happened desperately, the Seonbi raised its brows as it closed its screen.

The Seonbi drifted towards him slowly as Min-beom felt his heart pounding a bit fast, feeling a cold sweat on his forehead, staring at the creature's menacing golden eyes, similar to the protagonist's cold glare.

[Mortal, you do know that you cannot ask any questions related to the previous scenarios.]

It stated, denying to answer his simple 'desperate' question.

'Damn it… I need to know what happened…' Min-beom clenched his teeth as The Seonbi gave him a curious look.

[You had failed the extra scenario, mortal.]

[It's surprising that you're still alive.] The creature chuckled slightly, sounding a bit amused at him.

[But, do not worry, I will kill you very soon~] It continued as it gave him a cold stare and a terrifying smile that revealed its serrated mouth.

"But I-" He protested as The Seonbi cut him off.

[No questions, kid. It'll be better if you just shut your mouth, or I'll kill you right here and now.] The Seonbi snapped at him. Min-beom clenched his fists as he watched the Seonbi turn around and bring up its screen again, scrolling and tapping at the holographic screen.

He let out a sigh as he tried to think of something to get to the creature, recalling the things about the Seonbis creatures in the novel.

'A Ranked S creature… a host of the Visionary Broadcast…'

'I need to know its name.'

Min-beom began to rack his brain deeper, searching for any clues that could help him get to the Seonbi.

'Bingo! The Visionary Contract!' His eyes widened at the idea as he remembered something from the novel, a Visionary Contract.

[VISIONARY CONTRACT - A contract or a pact between a player and the Seonbi, one of the hardest things to do in the world. The player must convince the Seonbi and earn its trust with a beneficial offer, some Seonbis could be a bit possessive and greedy over things when it comes to contract but the Visionary Contracts need to be hidden away from the Gods. Once they find out, they'll kill the Seonbi and the player immediately without any hesitation even if they are the most powerful. The Contract rules will be set by the player while the Seonbi will agree to it, but it can disagree at some terms, but that depended on the player as long as the player will promise the Seonbi something very vulnerable.]

'The question is… How can I convince this little bastard that it plans to kill me anytime soon?' He thought as he looked at the creature, putting his hand on his chin, thinking deeply. Then, something popped up in his head.

'I think I could use my ability to view through it…'

Min-beom smirked slightly to himself as the Seonbi hummed to itself. He started to analyze the creature carefully as holographic screens popped up in front of him, containing the deep information about the Seonbi. He felt a surge of excitement and curiosity as he scanned through the data, looking for anything that could give him an edge over the Seonbi.

[Name: "Hayan"; "[하얀]"] - [Age: 500+] - [Rank S]

[Special abilities: Teleportation, Host abilities.] [Visionary Broadcast Channel Number hosting in: #331]

'331… Not 267? This Seonbi is not exactly from the novel huh.'

'Hayan's the name?' Min-beom stared at the screens as they faded away, the Seonbi closed its screen and turned around, facing him.

He decided to use this information to his advantage. He planned to surprise the Seonbi with his knowledge of its name and offer it a Visionary Contract that would benefit both of them.

Min-beom hoped that this would catch the Seonbi off guard and make it more willing to listen to him. He waited for the right moment to strike.

He saw that the Seonbi was done with its screen and turned around, facing him.

It clapped its hands together, Min-beom flinched slightly at the sound of the sudden clap as the Seonbi smiled at him wickedly, planning something.

[All set~ Now, let's begin how I will kill you, mortal.] The Seonbi said as it giggled like a mad hen, Min-beom covered his mouth as he started to laugh, he couldn't help but feel confident that now he had the information of the Seonbi.

'Having a Visionary Contract could help me with leveling myself up.' He smirked to himself as he looked up at the creature, putting his hand on his hip confidently.

The Seonbi looked at him baffled as it floated towards him.

[You're nuts, you really want to die, don't you?] The Seonbi spread its arms open as it laughed but sounded a bit nervous due to how he was acting in the situation.

'[The Seonbi, Hayan thinks that you've lost your mind.] A screen appeared in front of Min-beom for a short time as he just shrugged it off.

"I guess you could say that." He grinned at the Seonbi, the Seonbi couldn't help but feel puzzled by him.

[You're a crazy bastard, mortal.]

The Seonbi said, looking at him a bit disgusted as it raised its hand, about to snap.

[Die, you nutcase.]

Before it could snap, Min-beom cleared his throat.

"Goodbye, Hayan."
