Chapter 8 - Chapter 6: Amnesiac in the Elven village

He had no idea what the lady was talking about but the evil laughter contained enough malice to jog him out of his dreamscape back to the land of the living.

"The sleeper awakens at last."

He was greeted by the melodious voice of princess Samora, he had no idea where he was or how he got there. He slightly shook his head trying to blow away the feeling of dizziness that had escaped his dreams with him. He started looking around and of course it was an unfamiliar place, the entirety of the furniture was made out wood. The walls where painted white with a smooth shiny surface and golden ornaments and bows decorated the place. The soft comfy feeling that gave him the sensation of floating on clouds was the bed which was made up of a neatly designed wooden base and high quality sheep wool, nope this was different from normal sheep wool this one had a watery feel and the wool was not white but bordered on the realm of goldish yellow.

"Princess, where am I?"

"This is my own quarters in the village I hope they are not of any inconvenience to you young prince."

Maybe it was him being too self conscious but he thought her expression gave off an overly cordial feel especially for someone he just met.

"Nope princess you have my gratitude it is convenient and my apologies it seems I have troubled you again."

He bowed his head.

"Oh not at all my young prince, you can repay me by getting enough rest and regaining your strength."

She got closer and gently caressed his chest tenderly.

(Just like I thought she is more cordial than before.) He noted.

"Much appreciated princess but I must ask, how come you call me young prince despite looking young yourself?"

"You flatter me my prince. It seems you have forgotten but in terms of human years I am three centuries fourscore and three years."

"Huh?"

"How cute so you are capable of making such a reaction but I am fibbing my prince a lady's age is a secret."

She winked mischievously and even for the heartless Karlmine he felt a sliver of warmth budding in his ice cold dead heart.

"I will send my maid with something to eat soon get some rest."

With one last warm look she turned and disappeared behind the door. Karlmime was left alone to brainstorm on the meaning of his dream, the visage of that girl in his dream troubled him and deep down he felt it was imperative for him to find out soon but his amnesiac brain just was not cooperating.

"Hmm did you see that mortal who came with the princess?"

"Yes I did, and here I was thinking we were the fairest race."

"He was something else, did you see how sturdy his body is, so breathtaking."

"Shush the princess will hear you, she did go out of the stronghold in the middle of the night for that mortal right?"

"No way, you cannot be saying that our very own Samora has taken a liking to a mortal right?"

"What is with that glee in your eyes Sheerion, I forget you are into scandalous relationships."

Karlmine was discovering how inconvenient his extremely heightened senses were, listening to the gossip of the elven ladies outside who were indulging themselves with delusions and fantasies was bad enough but what was worse was the elven couple making out in the room opposite his, the moaning sound of the female elf and the athletic breathing of the male where all clear as if they were in the same room as him.

(I am somehow disappointed by the elves, I seem to have given them a little more respect and higher expectations than they deserve.) He revised his view of the place. He spent the following five minutes trying to control his sense of hearing as it was difficult to get his head together when all he could hear was the descant sound of metal hitting against metal which echoed as if it was in his own mind. He could even feel the panting of the elven soldiers who were doing their routine drill. Whilst still in his futile endeavor the door opened once more and a young elf entered carrying a tray.
