"Impossible," said Ina.
She stepped aside to let Kier in. He looked lost for a moment but then guessed she was inviting him in. Medes came in through the open window. Peppermint glared at Kier. He didn't notice.
"I know." Kier sat on the floor by the low table. "There's a supposed miserable number of them left. I don't know why there's one in my forest."
"It's not your forest," replied Ina.
"Oh, Right." Kier snapped his fingers. "We haven't engaged in combat for its claim yet." He looked at Ina's red hair. "Still, I don't care how you define your priorities, I think that Shadow waking up in that mountain should be the priority right now."
