Chapter 58 - Just Another Me

Moisty, sticky, and a strong stench, lingering in Julian's nose. He found himself in the dumpster. Slowly, he crawled out.

"I-I'm... back?" he said to himself, touching his face in disbelief. But if Julian's memories were correct... then that means...

Cerat jumped out of the dumpster, following right after Julian. He spit paper out of his mouth.

"Gah! Put some clothes on!" Cerat yelled. Julian didn't take much notice of him, slowly getting up.

"You're a dragon, aren't you? Why does it matter?"

"I don't know... being in a human body... it just feels strange. So put some clothes on!" Cerat whined.

"Shut up."

Julian felt quite light, but muscular at the same time. It wasn't like his previous body.

"Well, this is where we depart. I'll leave you alone, and finally get revenge on that bastard who locked me up."

"Are you dumb? We can't split. Were you not paying attention to Tou?"

"Ah, right. My memory isn't that good."

"Wait. You said something about getting revenge on the bastard who locked you up, right?" Julian asked.

"Yeah."

"You don't even know where he is, though."

"Yeah, but I can find him-"

"That's a dumb way to think. This is a large world. Do you think you can find them that easily?"

"..."

"But you shouldn't worry. Both of us have goals. I want to get my body back. You want to kill that man who locked you up."

"Yeah... you're right."

"If we help each other, we can both gain our goals. But you'll have to listen to me."

Cerat sighed but reluctantly nodded. "Okay. Fine."

Julian stuck his hand out, and Cerat shook it. At that moment, it felt like a flame ignited in Julian. A faint one, but it was there. What could that flame be?

"Just listen to me."

"I'm listening."

The alleyway was illuminated only by the moon, and the night was silent. Julian and Cerat sat, with their back resting against the wall. They looked like twins, however, Julian had blue hair, and Cerat had blonde hair.

"So here's the plan. We'll need to become a bounty hunter."

"A bounty hunter?" Cerat asked, confused. Julian repeated himself.

"Yes. A bounty hunter."

"But why?"

"So that we have enough money to sail on a ship to Sar."

"Sar?"

"Yup. That's where your guy is. That's where my guy should be, too."

"Can't we just fly there?"

"Too risky. If we split apart, it won't be good, remember?"

"Ah, okay. But... how are we gonna become bounty hunters?"

"By taking the bounty hunter test, of course."

"Last time I checked, aren't I already on a bounty?"

"The government thinks you're dead. Plus, your hair color isn't green anymore. As long as they don't know your face, you're fine."

"Thank goodness. I've killed so many people, I can't even count."

Julian was a little scared of how little remorse Cerat showed for the innocent people he killed. But then again, Cerat is a dragon. Everything is insignificant to him.

"Right..."

Julian responded awkwardly, turning his head to the side to avoid Cerat's gaze.

"No, yes I can. 100 kills!" he stated, proudly. He stood up, placing his hands on his hip. Julian sighed.
