"Ladies and gentlemen, please settle down. The event is starting very shortly."
The announcer spoke calmly, with an enthusiastic smile on his face. Everyone listened to him quickly.
The announcer walked back and forth across the stage as he spoke.
"These individuals that I will name are all citizens of Anore, like yourselves. These people have done things others wouldn't even dream of, academically, or in a different way."
They maintained their silence throughout the announcer's speech.
"The first award is an award of philanthropy. It goes to Ailmer of the Wynstina family!"
The crowd roared in excitement, clapping. From the darkness, Ailmer walked out.
Sharp, elvish ears, with light orange hair and green eyes. He had a faint smile on his face, bowing before standing upright. His elvish beauty was out on display, clear to see.
A sheath was attached to his hip, concealing a cutlass, which he rested his hand on.
"This man is the heir of the Wynstina family, the family that has donated the most to this city," said the announcer.
"It is an honor to gain this medal," the elf bowed.
The clapping slowly faded, and the announcer cleared his throat.
"Now, the next few awards, are awards of bravery. These people that are soon to enter the stage are very courageous, and have done great things for this kingdom."
Again, from the shadows, 3 people came out of the darkness.
The first person that entered from the darkness was a young woman, with long, black and white hair. She had a calm expression on her face, with yellow eyes and medium skin. An intimidating feeling surrounded her.
"Isalda from the Mahaut family!"
Clapping ensued. However, a conversation was beginning to brew in the crowd.
"How talented! Though, it's a shame she was born a woman."
"Hm? What do you mean?"
"The Mahaut family is a patriarchy. There are many things she cannot do, sadly."
"A shame indeed."
A second person came out of the shadows. She had a rather joyous expression on her face, which was expected. Anyone normal person would be happy in such a situation. In comparison to the woman standing next to her, she was short.
As expected of a northerner, her skin was fair. Her hair was straight and blonde, a pale kind of blonde. At the moment, it was tied up, but untied, it looked like it would fall to her shoulders.
Her hair covered one of her eyes. Under that covered eye, there was an eyepatch.
"Alize, of the Meino Family!"
"It is an honor to receive this award,' the woman bowed, maintaining her light smile.
Finally, Oscar stepped out. White hair, with those light blue eyes. his normally calm expression was tainted, with a little bit of nervousness.
"And, finally. Oscar of the... Tolien family."
The Tolien family wasn't a real family. It was something Oscar made up.
"It's… an honor to receive this medal of bravery!" Oscar stammered, just barely getting the sentence out.
"That accent…"
"Tolien Family? I've… never heard of something like that."
"A fraud, perhaps?"
Murmurs could be heard from everywhere, some of them stemming from confusion and some stemming from excitement. But all of this made Oscar even more nervous.
Until he fainted.
. . .
. .
.
Amidst the screams and cries, Oscar woke up, standing up sluggishly. He stood in the exact same spot that he passed out in. Nobody woke him up and moved him?
"Why's everyone... screaming?" Oscar rubbed his eyes. While he did this, an arrow came at him, cutting through the air.

The arrow was sent off track as the ice shard slammed into it. Although Oscar had just woke up, his senses were still sharp enough.
"An attack... on the palace?" he finally pieced it together.
— Where's General Yesynore?
That was one of his first thoughts. But he brushed it to the side. Instead, he focused on the current problem, the attack on the palace.
"There you are, Oscar! I've been looking for you!"
It was Learco speaking to Oscar. He was just slightly injured, his clothes a mess as well. He spoke frantically and was on the verge of tears.
"You didn't see me on the ground?" Oscar asked.
"I didn't... but come on! The king has been attacked! They broke into his room!"
"...They?"
"This kingdom's strongest force, The Iron Vanguard, betrayed the king, and attacked him! They've kept him hostage! The palace is likely to be stormed by the nearest knights soon!"
"Where is the king located, right now?"
"He's in this palace right now, in the underground area-"
