. . .
The palace was a spacious place, along with the underground. The underground was just as glorious, however. Marble floors, with graceful decorations and things of the sort.
Though, currently, it has lost its glory. It seemed more like a battlefield. An excess of knights flooded through the entrance of the underground, making the area even more cramped.
In the middle of the underground compartment, there was the king. Romeo de Caltault. A large man, with a shiny bald head and a thick beard, a curly black mustache.
The king was a fairly dull man. No relatives, as they had all died. His expression always seemed to be stained with contempt, as he sat on his throne, or rather, slouched onto it.
But now, he kneeled, with a rope tied around his large body.
There were about 18 members in the Iron Vanguard. They surrounded the king, and the captain sat right next to the king. Due to how the rebels were positioned, the king nor the captain could be seen from a regular viewpoint.
Oscar arrived at the scene.
"Jeez."
He unbuttoned his coat and cut off the bottom part of his pants.
He said to himself. "Sorry, General Yesynore. But, this is much better for my mobility."
He held out his dagger.
[Cast: Freeze Step]
He zipped through the knights, getting into the middle in an instant. He grabbed the king by the back of his collar, mid-flight.
"I apologize for this, my king!" he yelled, frantically.
(Oscar)
There were knights all around me. The knights of the Iron Vanguard wore a black metal as armor instead of a silver one, which is how I could tell the difference.
They all glared at me as I soared over them. It was a terrifying sight. The captain was lackadaisical. He hadn't even turned around to look at me yet, while all of the other knights did.
[Cast: Glacier Spear]
I threw the large spear into the roof. It pierced through, all the way to the roof, bringing in sunlight. I jumped out of the palace, into the forest, with the king still in my hand.
Finally, I threw him along a tree, softly.
"Are you alright, my king?" I asked, landing safely.
"Yeah... you're... Oscar, right?" the king asked, rubbing the back of his head.
"Yes, my king."
"Take these ropes off me."
In an instant, I cut the ropes off. He stretched, yawning.
"How far are we from the palace?" Romeo asked.
I pointed to the palace. "It won't take too long to get back. Come on, my king."
All of a sudden, I felt an ominous presence behind me. I turned around, immediately, raising my dagger.
On a tree, the captain sat, with his spear laid on the tree as well. His arms were crossed, as well. His hair was black and fell to his chin, with purple eyes and pale skin.
"K-Kibim..."
The king shivered as he spoke. That was... the captain?
"Yo... Romeo. Sorry, but, I have to kill you. Don't take it personally, alright?" Kibim got up from his tree.
(---)
"That won't be happening."
Oscar stood in front of Kibim.
"Ah... who are you?"
"I'm-"
"Nevermind. It doesn't matter."
Before Oscar could even notice, Kibim picked up his spear. With the tip of it, he jabbed at Oscar.
Oscar raised his dagger to block it, just barely. Sparks flew.
Noticing this, the king began to run.
[Cast: Blood Web]
The king was strung up on a tree.
"S-Sir!" Oscar yelled, running toward the king.
Kibim threw his spear at Oscar.
[Cast: Verglas Rising Pillar]
A pillar of ice rose from the ground, blocking the spear. Another close call.
Oscar sighed. Though, Kibim was already at him yet again, with the spear in hand.
How was that possible? To be able to pick up his spear that fast? Those questions ran through Oscar's head. But he would have to focus.
[Cast: Ice Zone]
The grass was covered in ice, along with the trees. The entire area became cold and chilly.
Kibim swung his spear as if it were a sword. Oscar evaded, by stepping back.
All of a sudden, Kibim closed the distance. It caught Oscar off guard.
"Eh!?"
Kibim stabbed Oscar in his gut. Immediately, Oscar retreated.
He clutched at his stomach.
"Tch..."
Kibim lunged at Oscar, again. This time, Oscar managed to parry. Sparks flew, yet again.
[Cast: Frost Dragon]
A dragon of ice erected from the ground, letting out a subtle chill. It charged at Kibim, opening its mouth, ready to bite.
[Cast: Energy Drill]
Kibim spun his spear around, extremely fast. It made a light humming noise. He threw the spear at the dragon, easily shattering it.
Because of the spear's spin, it curved, heading toward Oscar.
Oscar was not prepared at all. It was coming straight for his head.
[Cast: Gale Step]
Aithlin stepped into the way, swiping the spear away from Oscar.
"Here."
Aithlin threw the sword that he was holding toward Oscar. Oscar grabbed it.
"General Yesynore! How'd you know I was here?" Oscar asked.
"Everyone is searching for the king. The Iron Vanguard has already been eliminated."
"Ah, damn it. It took a while to pick out skilled knights for that team!" Kibim sighed.
[Cast: Blade of Shu]
Aithlin ran at Kibim, swiping his sword toward him.
Kibim stepped back to avoid it. But the gust of wind was strong, sending him into a tree.
"Damn it! You blew the blood off..."
Aithlin moved to the side to give Oscar a clear path, and Oscar ran toward Kibim, gripping tightly onto the sword Aithlin gave him.
[Cast: Frostfire Slash]
Oscar's sword burned white. He sliced at Kibim's armor, piercing through it and reaching his skin.
"It landed!" Oscar said, surprised.
[Cast: Intense Gale Dragon]
The winds started to blow intensely, and the leaves started to fly. It could be seen only faintly, a large dragon, made of the wind. It flew at Kibim.
Kibim threw his spear, not at the dragon, but at Oscar. It hit his arm.
"I-Is he stupid? Does he not notice the dragon coming toward him?" Oscar asked himself.
In an instant, Kibim appeared in front of Oscar, pulling the spear out of Oscar's arm. With how close they were, it was hard for Oscar to react.
But instead of striking again, Kibim licked the tip of his spear.
"Finally!" Kibim exclaimed.
Oscar pushed him off.
A new look appeared in Kibim's eyes.
[Cast: Freeze Step]
The distance between Oscar and Kibim was closed in an instant. Oscar winded up.
Kibim thrusted his sword toward Oscar's direction, ready to counter.
Aithlin parried, swiping Kibim's spear upward. It left his entire body open.
Oscar took this opportunity.
[Cast: Frostfire Slash]
It landed, again. The frostbite was starting to kick in.
"That hurt. I suppose it's time for me to stop playing around, now."
Oscar raised his eyebrow. "Huh?-"
Kibim stabbed Oscar's hand. Instinctively, he dropped his sword.
"Kyu!-"
Kibim dived for Oscar's sword, grabbing it during its descent. He landed roughly. Then, he placed his sword down.
"It's much easier to kill with a sword."
Aithlin and Oscar came to Kibim at the same time.
[Cast: Gale Strike]
[Cast: Frostfire Slash]
Oscar had picked his dagger back up, preparing the attack. Aithlin had gripped his sword firmly.
[Cast: Blood Slash]
A single, precise strike.
Aithlin's head went flying, spinning into the air, with blood spewing everywhere. Eventually, the blood pressure slowly decreased, and Aithlin's body dropped to the ground.
