Chapter 51 - Thalia's Help

"That's the main reason I have called you in today. It's about that Leviathan, that large snake that is much more powerful due to some circumstances. To get you into context, the Leviathan is a powerful summon that once transfigured would be given True Flesh. This means if Leviathan dies, it dies for good. Unlike your summons that goes back to Aghalea when they die."

The branches and roots soon began to form a large serpent similar to the Leviathan with its head cut off another a rex who slowly dissolved into dust.

"Aghalea?"

"It's the land where summons live and revive, kinda like their spawn point. Quite cool isn't it?"

She then woven her hands forming the branches into that of a gaming console, snake, and rex.

"Soooo, you see here Arthas. The system is based on a game, your rex is strong but not that significant to actually fight off everything. The way you make them strong is to let them eat those monsters that die, kind of like an invisible level-up system where their stats slowly increase over time."

She then made hand gestures to indicate what she was saying.

Counting her hands and doing other funny and cute gestures to do anything to explain properly.

"Okay, okay I get it. So can we go back to the Leviathan now? Why is it so strong to overwhelm two rexes?"

The girl stopped her movements and composed herself with a cough and straightened her posture and continued to explain.

"Ehem…Continuing the conversation. The reason why that snake was able to do that was because the catalyst used contained the essence of the MoonEater, The Bakunawa. It harbors an ominous presence, and as a catalyst, it further strengthens the creature. This brings me to the main objective."

The roots and branches then began to swirl forming displays of monsters and creatures.

The girl paused before continuing to speak…

"I want you to find the person responsible for carrying the MoonEater and restrain it, carefully"

"Person? How can you be sure that it's a person responsible for carrying such a dangerous creature?"

"First off, the MoonEater grows inside its host; it can be used as a summoned unit, however, or it would kill the summoner itself, letting itself free. You can weaken the effects of the Bakunawa if you use moonstone to remove the miasma permeating from your body every once a month."

"So you are saying that the catalyst used for summoning that snake was the moonstone itself? Considering its strength, the moonstone must have harbored a lot of miasma from the host" Arthas gave his opinion and explanation.

"Yes and I don't know who the carrier is, the power blocks out its existence from me but once in a month I feel its vulnerable power"

"Can't they just suck everything out of the MoonEater and leave it be?"

"No, you see Arthas", Branches began to form a long snake with a horrifying face. "If you take out everything from the carrier, the carrier dies. And there is the possibility as well that the moonstone will break, unleashing the Bakunawa from its cage and spell."

"So, what do you want me to do?"

Arthas made a serious expression as he asked the girl.

"Do as you like, find that person, restrain that person, and once you do contact me, just speak through your mind and I shall answer to you. Don't kill the person, restrain and protect if you have to."

She waved her hand and branches and roots began to evaporate and turned towards Arthas, it all went inside him.

"What was that?" Arthas touched himself from top to bottom trying to find any discrepancies.

"Oh, nothing, just my adorable sprites, no need to fret. Speaking of, my time is almost up. I've given Ralia a greater influence over the roots so she would have a much better time communicating with you in the future."

"Hey, you're an elf as well, right? Do elves always have a habit of introducing themselves when the conversation is about to end?"

"Pfftt—Technically I am an elf, a high elf in fact. Under Leah of course, my name is Thalia, Thalia Nature. Nice to meet your acquaintance"

Thalia made a little curtsy and smiled at Arthas. She waved her hand made herself a chair and sat down comfortably.

"Now go Arthas. Oh wait before I go I have something very important to tell you."

"Yeah? What"

Thalia waved both her hands and soon a replica of him and all his summons were illustrated.

"Arthas, the reason why you struggled against the Leviathan is not only because of the power gap but because of YOU. Arthas, you should've realized it by now, you have poor judgment, unable to make them cooperate and judge the situation and have a proper plan. I didn't need to point this out but I will if I have to"

Arthas was shocked by all the things Thalia said but it struck him hard. A sudden enlightenment and realization to procure his shortcomings.

'It's not that I don't understand and realize it but fuck, it hurts when it's in your face.'

"I understand…I'll try to overcome these shortcomings…"

"THAT is why, a piece of special advice would be given by me, Thalia Nature. Go to the Academy, learn from all those kids of your age, and find your own path other than what was set…"

Thalia then stood up and approached Arthas. She then spoke in a gentle, soft soothing voice.

"Arthas, no man is free if he cannot control himself. And responsibility is the shackles that prove your liberty as a person. Embrace, do not relinquish the chains of freedom."

She then turned around and sat down on the chair after leaving her words of ambiguous wisdom.

Arthas stood there dazed, unable to comprehend what Thalia just said.

'That's deep but I don't know what the fuck that means.'

Arthas thought about what she said and went on deep thinking. After a few minutes of silence, Thalia then clapped her hands and the sound echoed snapping Arthas back to reality.

"That should be it for today. Arthas I know you might not remember everything but I wish you would learn something. And please do go to the Academy, talk with Ralia for any inquiries regarding magic please call her. R-A-L-I-A. And goodddddddbyeeeeee"

With that long goodbye, a wooden arc appeared Arthas and soon gleamed with bright colors of green and yellow, particles sprayed all around the area.

The mystical arc soon enveloped the area, and Arthas was mesmerized by the look. A large bundle of branches and roots swarmed Arthas forcing him towards the large arc.

Soon he became a wooden man getting dragged off towards a mysterious doorway, the last thing that Arthas saw was the girl smiling at him with a funny look.

'This freaking elvess…have…a really…rude… way to make…their….guest…leave…AAA…"

Arthas screams internally as he gets dragged off.

He felt dizzy as he woke up from his slumber, looking around he was familiar with this place.

'My head hurts, What was that about? I feel numb as well, it's kinda hard to move. How many days have I passed out.'

Looking around he slowly came to understand where he was but was still in a confused state.

'I'm hungry when can I eat, I am very hungry.'

The bed that he was on, the table, and the chair, he knew instantly that he was in the village. Sleeping on the chief's house, near to him was food that was prepared for him.

Meat, rice, vegetables, and fruits were given in an assorted order and variety, it seemed that everyone appreciated Arthas and gave him a kind gesture.

Arthas blinked multiple times before smiling. In his past life, he was given food prepared specially and intricately made for him.

Although he used to handle food, he cooks for himself once in a while. There were several times when he sneaked off to cook.

He was used to the gesture, yes, but this time it felt different. It was gratifying, a smooth feeling rose from his chest.

'You didn't have to bring me food, idiots. Prioritize yourself first…I could live for a while without eating food'

He had a smile as he picked up an apple on the plate. It wasn't grand with fancy plating or arrangements, it was just simply placed in an organized way.

Simple yet beautiful.

For Arthas it was a new feeling of gratification, he hasn't felt this since he last remembered.

Taking a bite out of the apple, he wore a somber happy expression of tranquility and peace as he gently ate the apple.

[Aha! Even a demon would sometimes give the face of an angel once in a while!]

A sudden sharp loud voice disrupted his peaceful moment, he looked towards the source of the noise and found himself surprised by the person who said it.

"Ralia?? What the hell are you doing here?"

[It's a good thing you remember me, bastard, what am I doing here? I AM HERE to guard your ass. We told you to hunt those fuckers down not join the mayhem they make, like holy shit. Do you know how annoyed the others are? It's funny how that grandma can still scold others despite being that old.]

She slammed the table down with both her hands but it made no sound.

[Gosh,] she crossed her hands looking annoyed.
