Chapter 43 - Unplanned Plan

After Francis left with a bang, Moltar turned towards him and asked him a question.

"Since when did you do that? How would you be able to make the people accept these terms? This is too outrageous even for me, I only stayed silent to keep formality. But the terms you have set are dangerously high." Moltar openly stated his discomfort.

"Huh? Oh okay yeah, that makes sense. Remember the act that I made earlier where I attracted unhinged and stuff, yeah. It was to do something elusive become a reality, and what better way than to burn everything and engrave it in their minds? Overall, I think it worked well and that there would be little objections"

"What kind of logic is that…" Moltar was flabbergasted by what he said, "Don't you think that instigating their fear would make them turn on you?"

"Not really since I did save them and what can they say? Did I make a display of fear? I just saved them and in the process, they scared themselves. Nothing more, nothing less"

Moltar was getting intrigued by his methods but was curious as to how this would play out.

"Though I can't say there aren't many cons to this for now playing an anti-hero is the play here, it would also be good for the future…I think"

"I heard you felt pity and went through bloodshed when you saved my village. Don't you feel remorse or pity for the lizards that you all killed?"

Before Arthas could answer. The table began to shake, and the floor trembled with intensity. Noticing this Moltar and Arthas went down where Alicia and the rest were situated. While they were about to go down they saw something terrifying.

Through the window, they saw the castle-like structure fall bringing everything down. The snake was falling along with it. The moment it crashed, another fierce magnitude of earthquake once again decimated the land. Dust and ash flew up from the wind that took off with a gust of wind.

"This is getting out of hand. We need to go fast" Moltar shouted.

"Yeah, I'll go right away,"

'Well, shit,'

They sprinted downstairs where he proceeds to see them scrabbling in chaos. Alicia noticed him running and called him out.

"Hey! Arthas—"

"Not right now, I'll go fight that snake it's now on the ground the perfect time to kill it.!"

He sprinted downstairs where he met the gaze of everyone, including a girl wearing a maid outfit. They all had a face of fear and anxiety.

"What happened?!" Frederick asked.

"The building where the snake was coiling up was destroyed, I'm heading over there now the perfect time to fight since that thing's on the ground" Arthas rushed out with Moltar

"Hey! Arthas, what do you mean to use me as a hostage!? Hey, come back here."

Alicia screamed at him but he was already out of the front door, with Moltar behind him. Just like that, he was running towards the snake. But first, he ran towards the portcullis. Going through the streets he went running with excitement and fear as he walked with houses and debris scattered all over the city

"HEY! BOTH OF YOU, LET'S GO ITS TIME!"

The ground began to shake as the pebbles around jumped up with fear and houses shook from the heavy footsteps that echoed through the gates. The portcullis that was once a safeguard of the city began to break, and the chains and all other materials started to peel off from the creatures that were trying to go inside.

Seconds later, the gate was destroyed to pieces when two enormous monsters charged in at the same time, they both carried a terrifying expression with their fangs covered in blood. Their eyes whispered heavy animosity that demands chaos and dread.

They both walked towards Arthas, smashing rocks, and other materials that were in the way. Both of them lowered their head towards him, seemingly listening to his command, waiting for the call. It was an electrifying scene, two glorious creatures bowing at the face of man. People were mesmerized by what they saw, it was something from a fairy tale.

"Listen here boys, we are gonna kill that thing. I don't how but we will. Alright? The approximate length of that guy is still a mystery but do be careful. I believe in your strength, that is to say, don't be too scared. Good luck, I'll fight alongside you guys by making things much easier to move."

Nemesis and Morpheus looked at each other, and they both thought about how they would only do the work while he is laid back watching their fight. They both glared at him and spoke in animalistic language. It seemed like gibberish, but Arthas fully understood what they meant.

"So you want to just roam around after everything is done right? Keep you summoned all the time? I was already planning to do that, don't worry bout it. Just don't die and have a cooldown or else I won't be able to summon you. Well then, Good Luck."

They both lift their heads and looked toward the serpent who was recovering from the fall. The long serpent began to stabilize itself and looked at the two Rexes with eyes that glared animosity.

"Alright, you guys have fun! Go get that snake!"

Nemesis made a roar that reverberated through the whole city with Morpheus tagging along with a roar deeper than Nemesis. The snake hissed back in return and began to slither down towards the two Rexes. Not intimidated by its approach the two of them began to charge up and ran towards the giant snake, with Nemesis having fire in his mouth.

A battle between giant monsters was something unreal but was happening in front of Arthas, he called the civilians and asked them to leave and find a place to stay safe, but realistically he knows there was no proper safe place as anything can happen at this point in time.

The safe place would only be on the outskirts of the city where the fight could barely reach, but that would be too idealistic to think that they would be safe, still, it was better than nothing. Arthas, who is just a human, ran away, telling all citizens to get out and be safe. He also called out the guards to help with the evacuation of whatever is left and told them not to get too near to the center of the city.

"So what's the plan now?" Moltar asked him.

"To be honest, there is no real plan for this stuff. It's up to luck and prayers to save us from all of the danger around us. For now, let's go back to Alicia's house and plan properly"

"What?! You don't have a plan for what happens next?"

"Hey, just because someone is reliable doesn't mean they always have an answer to everything. Anyways let's go"

They both ran towards the house of Alicia. The city is structured in a way that is horizontally designed to mimic a wall, the chaos was located in the middle where the large castle-like building used to stand, it's now all rubble and dust.

Alicia's house was located near the far end where there isn't much life or people. It was where silence stayed and rested, which is why it's one of the most prioritized safety locations.

While Arthas and Moltar were running to the edge, the middle of the city was filled with tension and animosity.
