Everyone inside Alicia's house looked at the scene from far away; they didn't dare to come close to the fighting between large monsters. They were frightened, in fact, about everything that was happening.
Arthas watched through a broken wooden window as he observed the battle's aftermath. At first, everything seemed to be going their way. Although Morpheus couldn't do much, Nemesis was dealing massive damage to the Leviathan.
A massive explosion occurred, reminiscent of the overwhelming encounter with the Amirites in the desert when those tax collectors came to see him. The blast destroyed a significant portion of the city, leaving it desolate and burning in its wake. Arthas saw Francis, his mouth hanging open in shock, after witnessing this scene.
"Honestly, I feel bad for destroying such a large part of the city, but there's nothing I can do. Even Nemesis and Morpheus, a 2 versus 1, are struggling against a Leviathan," Arthas thought to himself.
"To be honest, I didn't expect you to have such monsters to match against a Leviathan. Alicia and Frederick told me about your help, but I did not expect you to have such powerful summons."
Francis pondered Alicia's account of the sudden appearance of the creatures. They all watched as the scene transitioned with intense emotions. For a moment, it seemed like all was lost, but then the sudden change of pace turned the tide in their favor.
They saw how the snake was powerless and burned, and thought it was over. However, in just a few seconds, everything changed once again. The entire area where the fight took place was engulfed in purple smoke.
Arthas had a sinking feeling as he watched the scene unfold. The thick smoke was visible even from his distant vantage point. "Hey, Francis, what is that smoke? You didn't tell me about this attack. What is it?" Arthas asked with a mix of panic, fear, and frustration.
"I-I don't know. The records never mentioned anything about smoke or any such attack. If I had known, I would have informed you," Francis replied, his voice tinged with anxiety.
"Great, just great," Arthas muttered in frustration.
His worries deepened when a sudden notification popped up on his screen. It was an unexpected and unwelcome message, arriving at the worst possible moment:
===================================
[WARNING!]
Nemesis's (Fire-Rex) health has fallen below 30%.
Activating Berserk Mode!
Current Summon Health:
Nemesis: 29%
Morpheus: 70%
The Will of Preservation Buff has Increased Stats by 20%.
===================================
"What the— Even with a 20% stat increase, they still haven't managed to take that thing down? Are you kidding me right now?" Arthas's thoughts raced.
As the smog thickened over time, Arthas's anxiety grew. He didn't want to lose Nemesis two days in a row. He cared deeply for his summons and was willing to risk his life to protect them.
"I'll be back. I'm going to join the fight. I'll see what I can do," Arthas declared as he rushed down the stairs.
"Wait! Where are you going? Come back here, Arthas!" Alicia shouted, her voice laced with concern, but he was already on his way out.
Both Francis and Moltar swiftly caught up to him. Despite his decent speed, their well-honed bodies allowed them to keep pace. They moved forward with serious and determined expressions, driven by guilt for allowing an outsider to defend their city while they watched from the sidelines.
Daisy appeared worried about the situation, while Alicia was still dazed by the rapid turn of events. Frederick remained outside, gazing emotionlessly as the smog grew denser.
Running through the streets, Arthas navigated the broken cityscape as if it were a post-apocalyptic wasteland. His actions were instinctive, driven by a sense of urgency triggered by the notification. He was uncertain about his actions, but he knew he had to intervene.
Moltar and Francis moved ahead of him, their determined expressions mirroring Arthas's own. Although his speed was respectable, their presence reminded him that it would take more than just two men to defeat the Leviathan.
He was generally weaker in strength but he had the urge to help his summons, everything he does is limited and what he can do is small, but even that small help. He hopes that it will be able to do something for them.
The two grown men soon disappeared as they went first leaving Arthas behind, but it didn't take Arthas long to arrive near the mist. Both of them were standing with the mist just a couple of meters ahead of them.
"You two, be careful we don't know what this is, but whatever it is. It is slowly killing my summons. From this, I can think of possible answers. First, this might be poison, second, this can be a kind of smokescreen that the snake uses to go around giving it some kind of strength to fight inside."
Arthas called out to them and both looked at him, they all had severe expressions and faces that were tired from all the activities that they were doing since morning.
Arthas stayed, explosions were happening somewhere, possibly inside the smog. It was loud and simultaneous explosions occurred.
The wave of explosions can be heard deep into the smoke as it assembles a beautiful harmony with chaos and destruction.
'What's the best course of action from here now? It's either that I call them out or I drag that snake out of the smoke, but what can I do to make it happen?'
"Hey, Arthas" Moltar called out, "You think you can try to unsummon your creatures from here? Try it maybe it can work."
Arthas tried to do it but it showed that he was unable to attain the action he wanted.
===================================
[Unable to Proceed!]
Reason: Creatures are under combat, please unsummon them when they are no longer under battle.
===================================
"No can do, I can't do anything about it"
They all looked at the thick smog with interest and fear, they vividly heard the noise inside but they could barely see anything inside the dense area.
Arthas's heart was having a problem with what was happening; it was beating very fast as he looks at the remaining health that both of them have.
Nemesis dropped below 20% while Morpheus went below 50%. The process was slow but it seemed the snake wasn't the one damaging them but the fog, he thought.
They were all thinking about what to do when suddenly, a large explosion occurred right near them. All of them were thrown off by a couple of meters, and though they were still quite far away from the blast, they were still able to feel the impact.
Arthas was hurt as he slowly tried to stand up, as well as Moltar and Francis; they both took a break and thought about what happened. They were confused about the sudden occurrence that happened.
"Fucking found it" Arthas murmured to himself as his eyes shone with a great deal of satisfaction and a hint of amazement.
'This is gonna be a dangerous game, for all of us, it's a gamble but heck, it's life, it's always a gamble'
"You two, go back further away, I think I found something that would give us something to work on. But it's gonna be flashy, prepare to follow if anything happens."
"What are you gonna do now?" Francis asked.
"Just hurry it up, we're wasting time, I can just do this once. Go! Now!"
