"Question: Who punched Garp and successfully rescued Ace during the Summit War?
This is a multiple-choice question with four options:
A. Buggy, former Roger Pirates' intern,
B. Sir Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea,
C. Monkey D. Luffy, captain of the Straw Hat Pirates,
D. Marshall D. Teach, from the Whitebeard Pirates.
You have one minute to answer, and the timer starts now."
Upon hearing that Ace was successfully rescued, the members of the Whitebeard Pirates were delighted, as it meant that the plans of the Warlords had failed!
However, when they saw the available choices, they became somewhat confused.
The first three options were unfamiliar to most of them, and Crocodile, being one of the Seven Warlords, had no apparent connection with the situation. Moreover, Crocodile was the one who had challenged Whitebeard in the past and failed, so how could he have saved Ace?
The last option, Teach, seemed more plausible since he was their trusted comrade.
"I think it's D, no one else but Teach."
"I never expected this, Teach. You managed to knock out Garp with a single punch. Have you been hiding your true strength from us all this time? Who are you really, and who are we compared to you?"
Some of them playfully patted Teach's shoulder and laughed.
Teach, on the other hand, was also taken aback, as even he felt that all four options seemed to refer to himself.
Although Teach did hide his true strength to avoid drawing attention, he wasn't confident that he could have knocked Garp down with a single punch. Unless Garp allowed it to happen.
But considering Garp had adopted Ace, it wouldn't be surprising if he let it happen.
However, at this moment, it was impossible to reveal their true strength. They had to deny any involvement in the past.
"No, no, absolutely not! Don't you all know my strength? If I were there, I would have definitely saved Ace. After all, we're brothers. But knocking down Garp with a single punch... Could it be that Garp intentionally took a dive?" Teach scratched his head and laughed awkwardly.
The others didn't doubt Teach's words either. After all, he had been with the Whitebeard Pirates for decades, and everyone knew his capabilities.
One can deceive others for a day, a month, or even a year, but can someone hide their true strength for decades?
So, they didn't dwell too much on this question.
Marco looked at Ace and asked, "Ace, what do you think is the answer?"
...
Meanwhile, at Marine Headquarters, Garp found himself in the midst of controversy again due to Teach's words.
To openly admit that he let his own grandson be saved by someone else would be considered betraying the Marines. Despite being Ace's grandfather, Garp had his duty as a Marine, and such behavior was undoubtedly a betrayal of that duty.
When Garp saw the question, he was still wondering who could be powerful enough to knock him down, but he never expected Teach to directly point out that he let it happen.
Now, he felt quite embarrassed.
If such a situation really occurred, what would Garp do?
Would he let it happen?
Perhaps he would. He wasn't sure.
Although he was a Marine, he was also Ace's grandfather. He had watched Ace grow up. How could he stand by and watch Ace die?
Looking at the people mentioned in the options, Teach seemed weaker based on their conversations. He probably couldn't defeat Garp.
As for the remaining choices, Buggy, the former Roger Pirates' intern, was unfamiliar to Garp. However, the other intern had become one of the Four Emperors in the New World, known as Red Hair.
If the intern was like Red Hair, then perhaps he could do it. But that was uncertain.
As for the other two, Crocodile didn't have the strength, and Luffy would need at least another hundred years to knock Garp down.
So, either this Buggy the Clown really knocked him down, or Garp truly let it happen.
Sengoku also considered this point. Considering that Garp still held the title of a Marine hero, they had to give him some face. The Marines couldn't afford to let him lose face again.
He ordered his subordinates, "Investigate who this Buggy the Clown is."
At that moment, Admiral Brannew, who was attending the meeting, suddenly spoke up. "Admiral Sengoku, I think I know who this Buggy the Clown is."
Sengoku turned to Brannew and asked, "Who is he?"
Brannew awkwardly adjusted his sunglasses and said, "Buggy the Clown is a pirate from the East Blue. He caused some trouble in the Orange Town in the East Blue recently. I remember his bounty was around 15 million berries."
15 million berries?
That little?
However, they all considered that he was a person who had been on Roger's pirate ship. Perhaps he was keeping a low profile?
And the other person who had come from Roger's pirate ship had become one of the Four Emperors. It would be reasonable for him to defeat Garp.
Upon hearing Brannew's explanation, Sengoku felt like he had seen or heard about this incident somewhere. But with the numerous tasks he had to handle every day, he couldn't remember every minor event. Besides, there were already so many incidents in the Grand Line to keep track of. How could he remember some small-time thief from the East Blue?
"Continue, tell me more," Sengoku nodded slightly and said.
"Well... I heard that they were defeated by the Straw Hat Pirates recently and their whereabouts are unknown."
