Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Question: Who Killed Ace?

In the world of One Piece, the balance between the Four Emperors and the Navy was delicate. If the Navy and one of the Emperors were to engage in a devastating battle, it would leave the remaining three unable to handle the situation.

If the Navy were to fall, the entire world order would crumble, and pirates would run rampant without any restraints. It would be a living hell.

Therefore, the Four Emperors and the Navy maintained a delicate balance, with neither side willing to easily disrupt it. No one wanted to be the third party that took advantage of a fight between two powers.

...

...

"Now then, congratulations on correctly answering the four questions. I didn't expect you to answer the fourth one correctly. Now, there's only one question left. If you answer it correctly, you will receive the reward for this quiz."

The mysterious man clapped his hands as he spoke.

However, the members of the Whitebeard Pirates didn't show signs of joy. Despite the man's constant talk of rewards, they couldn't feel at ease with someone who appeared out of nowhere, whose true identity and motives were unknown.

What worried them even more was that this person seemed to have never truly appeared throughout the whole ordeal, yet they found themselves trapped, seemingly at his mercy. It was a one-sided situation that made them uneasy.

This feeling was very unpleasant.

They only hoped that after answering the questions, the situation would be resolved without unnecessary loss of life.

As they listened, the mysterious man was about to ask the final question. The members of the Whitebeard Pirates and people from all over the world who were watching the livestream couldn't take their eyes off the mysterious man.

They wanted to hear what unknown information this person would reveal this time.

"Now, here comes the final question.

Question: During the Battle of Marineford, Ace, who was successfully rescued by Monkey D. Luffy, later died in whose hands while trying to save Luffy?

Four options:

a: Admiral Kuzan, codenamed Aokiji.

b: Admiral Sakazuki, codenamed Akainu.

c: Admiral Borsalino, codenamed Kizaru.

d: Marshall D. Teach of the Whitebeard Pirates.

You have two minutes, starting now."

As soon as this question was asked, the whole scene on the Moby Dick erupted into an uproar.

Not only that, people around the world who were watching the livestream exclaimed in surprise. They thought that the Navy's operation had failed, but they never expected that in the end, the bloodline of the Pirate King Roger would be extinguished here.

Did this mean that the Navy had won the war?

At the Marine Headquarters, Garp's face turned grim. Ace was dead?

He died at the Marine Headquarters while trying to save Luffy?

Emotions fluctuated between extreme joy and sorrow. They were happy that Luffy had managed to save Ace earlier, but now Ace had died while trying to save Luffy.

Who was responsible for this?

As Garp listened to the mysterious man listing the four options, he abruptly turned to look at the three Admirals beside him: Aokiji, Akainu, and Kizaru.

Three of the options were Admirals, and one was a member of the Whitebeard Pirates. Did someone from the Whitebeard Pirates kill their own comrade?

How is that possible!

It's obvious that the person who killed Ace is among these three.

The three Admirals were slightly taken aback by the furious gaze of Garp. This old man was indeed intimidating when he got angry.

But they were not ordinary people. As Admirals of the Navy, they had seen all sorts of situations.

"Oh my, how scary! Don't look at me like that," Kizaru said, pretending to be frightened, while patting his chest.

Aokiji shrugged innocently. "Garp, we don't know about the future events either."

"Hmph, if a pirate is killed, he's killed. Even if you took him in as your grandson, it doesn't change the fact that he is Roger's son and became a pirate just like Roger. He deserved to die.

If it were me, I would have killed him." Akainu looked at Garp without backing down, his expression cold. "Garp, remember, you are a Marine!"

As Garp listened to Akainu's words filled with killing intent, his face turned pale, and he involuntarily clenched his fist.

At that moment, Sengoku shouted angrily, "Enough, Garp! Are you not ashamed enough?

Are you going to kill them in advance just because they will kill your grandson in the future?"

Sengoku's words snapped Garp back to his senses from the prophecy of his grandson's death.

He turned his head away and stopped looking at the three Admirals.

He had been momentarily overwhelmed by this news.

This was not a simple prophecy. Based on the previous questions, they could basically confirm that, although this mysterious man had a mysterious origin, his words were mostly accurate and without mistakes.

Apart from the uncertain future events, the hidden secrets of the past that no one except those involved knew about were confirmed to be true.

This made them believe that the future events mentioned were also likely to happen.

On this basis, when Garp heard that his grandson would be killed by one of these three individuals, it was difficult for him to contain his anger.

However, after being scolded by Sengoku, Garp regained his composure. Regardless of who among the three killed Ace, they were not at fault. It was the Navy's duty to kill pirates, and it was only natural.

The mistake lay in Ace becoming a pirate with insufficient strength, leading to his demise.
