Even though Whitebeard himself has killed many pirates, does that mean he also needs to atone for his actions?
After regaining his composure, Garp didn't vent his anger on them but started pondering two questions: how was Ace captured, and who among the three of them killed him.
In the future, he should keep Ace away from that guy. If his strength is insufficient, he shouldn't go and offer himself up to die.
As for how Ace was captured, Garp couldn't find an answer despite thinking it over. However, there is a high probability that he was captured while acting alone.
Because if Whitebeard were present and someone wanted to capture Ace, it would essentially be the start of a direct war, without waiting for the Summit War.
Therefore, it must have been when Whitebeard was unaware that Ace was captured, and then the execution was made public to force the Whitebeard Pirates to rescue him.
Hopefully, Ace realizes this and avoids acting alone in the near future.
Furthermore, regarding the three individuals who killed Ace, based on Garp's understanding of them:
Kizaru is a sly old fox who won't engage in things without benefits or trouble. He enjoys slacking off and watching the show. With the fastest Devil Fruit powers, he does things at the slowest pace.
Given this nature, Garp doesn't believe Kizaru would go through all the trouble to kill Ace. As a crafty person, Kizaru would have captured Ace and handed him over to Sengoku for disposal, collecting his reward without any trouble.
As for Aokiji, based on their relationship, Garp doesn't believe Aokiji would harm his grandson. However, as a Marine, it is their duty to capture them, so if it were Aokiji, he would have captured Ace and Luffy.
That leaves only one answer: Akainu.
This ruthless and merciless person doesn't care who the opponent is. As long as he deems them evil, he will eradicate them at any cost.
He is the only person in the Navy who would never give Garp any face.
"Moreover, from Akainu's recent remarks, it can be seen... Garp glanced at Akainu, and it seems that it's him."
The others also roughly guessed who was responsible.
They looked at Garp and Akainu with some wariness, ready to fight at any moment.
Fortunately, Garp only glanced at Akainu and then looked away, while Akainu snorted and focused on the live broadcast.
In the East Blue, upon hearing this terrible news, Luffy was instantly stunned. Ace was killed for the sake of saving him.
How could this happen?
Luffy stood still, dumbfounded.
The group of Krieg's pirates next to him had given up on the idea of fighting Luffy.
This guy was too terrifying. With Vice Admiral Garp backing him and two of the Four Emperors having connections to him, Krieg seriously doubted that he would live to see tomorrow if he tried to take him down.
As for why he hadn't left yet, it was because he wanted to continue watching the live broadcast. There were too many secrets hidden within it. Without watching the broadcast, who could have imagined that Gol D. Roger had a son, that the grandson of a Marine hero was a pirate, and that one of the Four Emperors, Hawkeye Mihawk, had kidnapped the grandson of a Marine hero and made him a pirate...
Everyone was eagerly awaiting the answers.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere on the Moby Dick was somewhat ominous.
Upon hearing that he would be killed, Ace initially felt that it was unreal. However, he soon realized that it might be true. He was really going to be killed.
And Luffy was only 17 years old this year, which meant that if he was correct, Luffy would die this year.
Knowing that one's own death was prophesied while still alive, what kind of feeling was that?
Sensing the unsettling atmosphere around him, Ace forced a smile and reassured everyone, "Don't worry, I'm still alive, right?"
Even if they want to kill me, they have to catch me first. Now that I know all this, they won't be able to catch me that easily."
Ace's words instantly lightened the hearts of the others. That's right, it's just a prophecy. Since they know about it, there's no way they would let such a thing actually happen.
"Ace, don't worry. If anyone wants to harm you, they'll have to step over my dead body first."
"That's right, we're the Whitebeard Pirates. If anyone dares to lay a finger on our brothers, they'll have to ask for our permission first!"
"Whoever dares to touch Ace, we'll slaughter them!"
...
The atmosphere on the ship suddenly became filled with love and camaraderie.
However, Teach felt that something was not quite right.
He had a faint suspicion that the mysterious person was targeting him.
He was the most inconspicuous person on this ship, yet his name appeared twice in these questions - once as the one who saved Ace, and once as the one who killed Ace.
He couldn't fathom how he ended up being an option in these completely opposite questions.
It was absurd.
Of course, just like the members of the Marine, the Whitebeard Pirates didn't pay much attention to Teach as an option either.
After all, they were all part of the Whitebeard Pirates, Whitebeard's foster sons. It was impossible for them to harm their own people.
