Chapter 39 - Gunslinger

As Sahagin's distance from his grew closer, he could instantly feel a wave of fear rising from his head to his feet. This was bad. Asher had to act now, to escape the attack. However, no matter how hard he tried to move his body, fear continued to rule his mind, making him completely unable to move his body or even his fingers.

Suddenly, however, several bullets whizzed toward Sahagin, causing Sahagin's attack to deflect. It was strange. Asher had no idea what was happening until he heard someone speaking not far from his position.

"Argh, damn it! I missed my shot." A woman's grumbling voice was heard not long after. "That bastard must be dead."

His curiosity rose in his mind, causing him to immediately look back, seeing the figure of a yellow-haired woman with two braids holding a gun. "Wait, who are you?"

But the woman ignored Asher's words and immediately fired her weapon quickly. "Damn, that thing is trying to escape." Her hand quickly pointed the muzzle of her gun at Sahagin who was trying to escape. "Oh, I won't just let it go. Take this, you damn it. Triple shoot!"

The yellow-haired woman quickly pulled the trigger of her gun and three bullets shot from the muzzle of her gun. Incredibly, all of her shots managed to hit the surface of the sahagin's scaly body and instantly killed the creature.

"Heh, I know it! My shot won't miss." His hand quickly turned his gun with cowboy-like simplicity. "Haha, because I'm a gunslinger," she laughed proudly.

"Excellent aim, Miss." Asher's mouth opened slightly, amazement evident on his face.

"Oh, hey. Sorry, my bad. I'm getting carried away and forget that there was someone else here." She walked over to Asher while smiling at him. "My name is Altemesia, nice to meet you."

"Altemesia, how come you're alone here? Are you having a party?" Asher furrowed his brows, trying to look around.

Altemesia was silent for a moment, a glimpse of a slightly tense look on her face. "Party? Oh, yes of course. I'm a gunslinger, why not have 'my party'?" she replied, followed by an awkward laugh.

Asher nodded his head gently. To be honest, in the back of his mind, he already felt quite suspicious of Altemesia. The way the yellow-haired woman responded to his question, made him believe that she might be lying. But who knew, Asher didn't want to make things worse and chose to keep quiet. After all, it was possible that his first impression was not correct.

"Oh shit, I forgot about Chronos." Asher patted his head gently. "I have to help my friend, thanks for the help anyway." He immediately quickened his footsteps, leaving the woman alone.

"Uh, wait!" The woman's voice sounded so loud, trying to stop Asher's steps. "Since my party isn't here, can I join you for a while?" the woman said while playing with her yellow hair. "Hey, but that doesn't mean I'll continue to be at your party. I just think the more people, the better, right?" she said again while showing her smile.

Asher sighed, trying to remain calm. "Alright, but don't be surprised if you meet Chronos."

"Meet who? Wait, what do you mean? I don't understand what you're saying at all." Altemesia furrowed her brows. She had a look of confusion on her face.

"Come on, you'll see for yourself."

When Asher finally saw Chronos, his face immediately tightened seeing Chronos lying on the sandy ground with bruises all over his body. Damn, now he had to quickly cast his healing spell on Chronos before the injury got worse.

"Cure! Cure!" Asher chanted his healing spell, with a tense expression on his face. "Damn, why isn't Chronos moving at all."

Fortunately, a few minutes later, Chronos slowly opened his eyes. "Asher? What's going on?"

He slowly looked around and his eyes widened when he saw the face of a beautiful woman in front of him. For unknown reasons, Chronos immediately stood up straight, lifted his chest, and then moved closer toward Altemesia who was standing not far from his position.

"Hello beautiful girl, my name is Chronos." His voice sounded very masculine followed by a big smile. "What's your name, miss?"

"Huh, what?" The wrinkles on Altemesia's forehead became more pronounced. "Uh, Altemesia. Greetings." She smiled, revealing her neat row of teeth. "Wait, aren't you hurting?"

"This pain disappears as soon as I see your smile, as sweet as the sun that lights up my life." Chronos hugged her body tightly. "Altemesia, oh altemesia." His face flushed, revealing a lustful expression on his face.

"Uh, Asher, what's wrong with Chronos?" Altemesia whispered, looking at him. "I feel, he seems strange and terrible."

Asher shook his head while looking at Chronos. "Well, I can't deny it, that's just how Chronos acts when he meets a beautiful woman. His lustful nature will come out naturally." He sighed, a look of frustration on her face. "Relax, it will go away on its own. Come on, we have to go back to see Persea."

Not long after, they were finally reunited with Persea and Ellette. Shortly after, Asher informed them that the sahagin creature that had been attacking them had been defeated thanks to Altemesia's help, so at least they were safe.

"No... no, we're still not safe." Ellette shook her head quickly. "Those creatures are still there and will come after me." An uneasy feeling ran up her spine, making her face turn paler.

"Wait, you mean there's more than one of these Sahagin creatures?" Asher furrowed his brows, a curious look on his face.

"Yes, and they're all around here, ready to attack at any moment," Ellete said as she swallowed the saliva stuck to her neck.

Quest 14: Kill all Sahagin (required)

Recommended player level: lv.10-15

Players must defeat all the Sahagin that have taken over this place. According to Ellette, there are about 10 of them. Number of Sahagin that have been defeated (0/10).

Recommended classes: Ranger, Mechanic, and Dark Mage.

Asher immediately rounded both of his eyeballs when he heard the number of sahagins to defeat was ten. Gosh, that was quite a lot. His face instantly tightened, imagining how he struggled to defeat one of these creatures, but now there were ten. Damn. It felt like it would be quite difficult to complete this quest because their strength was also not strong enough to defeat the sahagin.

"Hey, Ash. I'm sure we can complete this mission. So take it easy, buddy." Chronos patted Asher's shoulder, he seemed to have returned to his normal mode. "We can defeat this thing, and Altemesia will help us too. So, what are you afraid of?"

Asher slowly nodded his head, his shoulders tensing slightly. "Well then, we can at least give it a try."

Without waiting long, Asher immediately accepted the mission, so Ellette began to relay the information that Sahagin liked to be in dark places and close to water. This was because it would be easier for them to blend in and trick their prey, making it easier for them to get their prey.

"Wait, one second. So you're saying that those creatures like to live in caves?" Asher's face showed a look of anticipation.

"Yes, you could say that. But there are no caves here, so they use shipwrecks close to the sea as their hiding places.

Asher was silent for a moment at Ellette's words. "Wait, a wooden shipwreck?" The frown on Asher's forehead became even more pronounced.
