Chapter 45 - Ship to Uluna Island

Seeing the two Woodos walking towards him, watching them with a terrible crimson gaze, Asher continued to step back. Oh no, that was bad. This was completely beyond Asher's prediction. He never expected this to happen at all and it seemed like Asher had to rack his brains again to get out of this problem.

"Asher, so what should we do?" Persea's petite body continued to tremble, as did the look of fear on her face." Gosh, Altemesia hasn't regained consciousness either, W-what should we do?" The frustrated look on her face was obvious.

"Ash, just take Altemesia to a safe place, I'll try to distract these two damn things." Chronos gently raised his sword, getting ready to attack.

"Chronos, but are you sure you can defeat these two creatures alone?" Asher raised his eyebrows, doubt lurking in his mind.

"I'll hold them off as best I can." Chronos gripped his sword tightly. "Now hurry up, get out of here, Ash!"

Carrying the unconscious Altemesia, Asher quickly left Chronos with the creatures. Honestly, Asher didn't want to leave him alone because he doubted Chronos could defeat the two creatures, but if he stayed there, he wouldn't be able to cast the healing spell and surely Altemesia's life would be further endangered.

"Asher, look, we can hide over there." Persea's index finger pointed to a large rock in front of her. "I'm sure we can be safe there. Surely those creatures won't be able to find us, Ash."

Panting, Asher accelerated his footsteps with a pounding heartbeat until he reached the hideout. Damn it. His mind immediately became agitated as Altemesia showed no movement at all.

Strangely, even though Asher wanted to check Altemesia's status, there was nothing but her name. Curiosity immediately arose in Asher's mind. Was there something Altemesia was hiding from everyone? However, he tried to ignore it, as Altemesia's safety was far more important right now.

"Alright, now I'll use my healing ability." Asher slowly leaned Altemesia's body against the boulder, then chanted his healing spell. "Healed!"

Instantly a green light appeared around Altemesia's body, slowly making the wounds on her body disappear. Good, it seemed like the healing spell had worked well. So now, the only thing he could do was wait for Altemesia to wake up.

"Huh, Asher where am I?" Altemesia slowly opened her eyes, the wrinkles on her forehead showing confusion. "What... what exactly happened?"

"Luckily you're awake, Altemesia. "Chronos sighed, relief evident on his face. "Do you still remember everything that happened to you before?"

Altemesia shook her head quickly. "No, Asher. Everything happened so fast, I can't even remember it at all."

"Ash, now we're back to helping Chronos. I'm pretty sure he'll need our help. Persea's face tightened. "Come quickly, Ash."

However, when they were about to come out of their hiding place, there was a creature that looked like a Rhino but with a strange and terrifying appearance. It has glowing fiery red, a black pitch body, and sharp horns which look quite powerful too. Bad news. It looked like they had made the wrong move this time.

"Guys, what should we do now?" Persea's lips continued to tremble followed by a frown on her forehead, looking at the creature's terrifying gaze.

"Listen to me. We need to stay calm and slowly move away from this thing." Asher slowly walked backward, trying to create as much distance from the creature as possible.

"No, I don't want to be called a coward, Asher." Altemesia took out her gun, pointing the muzzle forward. "Relax, I'm sure my shot will easily kill this thing," she said confidently, walking bravely like a hero.

Without hesitation, Altemesia pulled the trigger of her gun, and the bullet flew towards the creature. Pride showed on her face, she was sure that her accurate shot would be 100% successful in eliminating the creature with ease, but reality was different from what she had in mind.

"But... but why?" Altemesia froze as her shot did not hurt the creature's body at all. "Damn, this can't be. Argh! Feel this shot, damn it!" She pulled the trigger of her pistol again, spewing several bullets at once towards the creature.

However, none of Altemesia's bullets managed to hit or even injure the rhino's body. Surprisingly, Altemesia's expression turned pale. It seemed like she never realized that her shots were completely useless against this creature. It was strange because creatures like Sahagin and the others could be defeated easily with Altemesia's shots, but why did her shots not affect this creature at all?

"So-so what should we do?" Persea's lips continued to tremble endlessly, seeing the creature preparing to chase them.

"Oh, no. We have to run! Now!" Asher's shout echoed out.

With all their might, Asher and the others ran away from that place as far as possible. Unfortunately, while running through the bushes in front of them, Altemesia did not realize that thick roots were hiding behind the bushes and made her fall.

"Argh, damn!" Altemesia growled in pain. "My leg! I can't move it at all!"

Asher's empathy quickly made him stop moving when he heard Altemesia's scream. Honestly, there must have been some hesitation to help Altemesia. Logically, they had just met, and there was no way Altemesia would do the same if she were in his position.

Asher was sure if he didn't help Altemesia, it would be one of the regrets in his life. Altemesia's eyes looked teary. "Fool. Why didn't you leave me, save yourself?"

Asher shook his head. "No, I can't. I wouldn't leave my partner in the lurch. And remember we're on the same mission, so we have to help each other, right?" He smiled, no regret visible on his face.

Altemesia's tears instantly broke out when she heard Asher's sincere words. Without hesitation, she immediately hugged him without any hesitation. To be honest, Asher initially felt surprised at Altemesia's sudden action. However, he seemed to realize that Altemesia needed someone right now.

Unfortunately, things did not change immediately. The creature continued to run and got closer and closer to the two of them. Damn. Their current situation was hopeless and all they could do was surrender, realizing that there was no way they could escape from this.

However, something strange happened. Just as the creatures were about to attack them, a protective barrier made of water instantly appeared and blocked the creatures' attacks. Great. Asher suddenly realized and firmly believed that this must be Persea's power. The relief on Asher's face was obvious, realizing that their time didn't seem to be over.

"Good timing, Persea." Asher gave a thumbs up, smiling at Persea.

"Don't get excited just yet, that barrier won't last long, Asher. We must rush to attack this thing as soon as possible." Persea's face tightened, as did her shoulders. "Oh, yes, I have also used the scanning skill earlier to obtain some information about this creature. Take a look."

Weakness Magic attack (light type)

"Alright, so this thing only works with light-type magic attacks."

Asher stroked his chin, his shoulders tensed. "Wait, that means I can attack using mine."

"Yes, using your magical abilities, we can defeat this creature, Asher."

Altemesia nodded her head, there was no doubt in her mind.

"That is true, but I need time and there must be a distraction for this creature while I cast my magic spell."

Persea smiled at those words. "Relax, leave that part to me. I can lure the creature easily, I'm sure of it."

"I will also do what I can," Altemesia said as she wiped away the tears left on her face.

Without waiting for long, Persea quickly made several balls of water and threw them towards the Rhino directly, making the creature distracted. Incredibly, it seemed like Asher had the opportunity now to cast his spell.

"Time to end it all. Light rays!"

Shortly afterward, several rays of light appeared from behind Asher, streaking out quickly like meteors and directly hitting the Rhino with a blast of energy that rendered it completely immobile. The Rhino quickly lay on the ground and died.

'900 exp earned'

'You have earned 500 gold coins.

You have obtained 1x horn, 2x fur, and 1x Rhino saliva.

"Finally, we can defeat that thing." Asher sighed, the tense look on his face slowly disappearing. "But, what about Chronos' condition? Is he okay?"

'900 exp earned'

'You have earned 500 gold coins.

'You have earned 3x wooden planks'

'900 exp earned'

'You have earned 400 gold coins.

'You have earned 4x wooden planks, 1x wooden block'

"Oh, look Asher.

Another notification appeared. Looks like we don't have to worry about Chronos now. Fortunately." Altemesia wiped the sweat from her forehead, her shoulders slowly loosening.

"Good, now all the materials are complete.

We should return to Chronos and get out of this strange forest as soon as possible."

Without waiting long, they immediately met up with Chronos and Persea quickly cast her teleportation spell until they finally arrived back at Uluna Harbor in no time.

"Ellette!" Persea flew over to Ellette who was looking around the ship. "We managed to find the materials you were looking for." She then handed all the materials to Ellette.

'You have completed mission 15: Materials for the ship'

'Earned 1350 Exp'

'You have earned 800 gold coins, 2x Ether, 1x telescope, 3x bombs'

[Telescope: A device used to view large, distant objects]

"Good, with a little improvement, this ship is ready to sail." Ellette's face looked so cheerful.

"Yes, all of you will help. Ellette." Persea nodded her head, a happy look on her face.

They all ended up working together to repair the ship and it didn't take long until the ship was ready to sail. Without waiting long, they finally boarded the ship and set sail, hoping that everything was fine.

However, when their ship was in the middle of the ocean, Asher's eyes immediately noticed something on the surface of the sea a few meters in front of him.

Strangely, its constant movement was getting closer and closer to their ship. At first, he thought it was a big wave that was coming, but considering the weather in the ocean was quite clear, it seemed unlikely that any waves would appear. His curiosity gradually grew more and more deeply rooted in him, so he quickly used his telescope, checking for himself what it was.

"Oh, shit!" Asher shook his head, his lips trembling. "Turn the ship now!"
