"I consider myself the luckiest person alive, not only am I the young master of a noble household but I am also blessed with parents that love me and a childhood sweetheart that I'm destined to marry, so my life is perfect... It's perfect so why did this happen?"
Gathering for breakfast every Sunday in the dining room has been a tradition passed down from one generation to another in the Fowler household. However, this Sunday is quite special as the family members were seemingly anxious waiting for something.
"Master the letter has arrived" said a maid as she was rushing in clearly looking worried as well. Usually, such actions would've been punished as that's not how a maid from a noble household should act but it seemed like the family members didn't mind it and instead were looking expectantly at the letter she was holding in her hand.
"Hurry up and give it here" Even the calm and collected master that valued manners above everything else looked like a student after receiving his report card, nervous.
After opening the letter he released a relieved sigh.
"So what did it say? Was I accepted?" asked Kyle. It turns out that the letter contained a reply to the letter of admission of young master Kyle to the newly developed Magic Academy where talented youngsters are found to receive a profound level of magical education.
Long ago, there used to be a similar academy. However, the difference was that it was corrupt.
Corrupt to a degree where only nobles are accepted and the teachers would favor youngsters of a higher level of nobility, but this all changed after the new king took over the throne as he demolished such a system and created this Magical Academy instead.
By doing so, the king offended those who used to bribe and who took bribes alike, yet it didn't stop him from doing what he did. So what if they were offended, he is a king and all they can do is suck it up as it's not worth offending the KING for such a reason.
The Fowler House is a Viscount household with 100 years of history. Although this family merely has a Viscount rank, no one dares to look down on them because of their close relationship with the royal family as the current king was a student of the previous patriarch of the Fowler household.
However, even with such a special position and close relationship with the king the Fowler House knew better than to depend on it which is why they were still nervous.
Luckily, Kyle was accepted although barely, Kyle was known not to have the brightest brain but he was still pretty talented when it came to magic, too talented perhaps. The only reason why he was barely accepted was that the entrance exams mainly focused on theories, something he was not good at. Fortunately, there was an exam where the usage of mana was required which saved him from failing.
Kyle first awakened mana sense when he was only 2 years old, at an age where the average child would still be learning how to talk, he could already sense mana. That led to countless rumors spreading about the once-in-a-century genius of the Fowler House, yet he did not manage to live up to such a title as he only managed to reach the 2nd circle by the age of sixteen, his current age.
Kyle was still considered one of the most talented people of this generation, yet he still cannot be compared to the monsters of the Dukedoms and the Royal family as they were showered with elixirs since they were young, despite not exceeding Kyle in terms of pure talent.
