DANIEL only wanted to make Eleanor happy.
But he had never seen her smile, not even once, during their wedding ceremony.
He thought he was already prepared for a life being hated by his wife, but he didn't expect that it would still hurt.
Even so, he knew he didn't deserve Eleanor's smile.
"You may use this room, Lady Eleanor."
It was their first night as husband and wife.
Daniel knew that Eleanor wasn't comfortable with him, so he already accepted the fact that his wife might never want to sleep with him.
And he was okay with it.
[As long as she's safe beside me, I won't ask for more.]
"You're leaving me alone in our bedroom on our first night?" Eleanor, who was sitting on the bed wearing her modest white nightgown, asked bitterly. "Do you want your servants to make fun of me?"
Oh.
He didn't think of that.
