Luckily the sensation only lasted for a split second before Fenrir stepped through the other side and was struck by a cacophony of sounds and intense sunlight. Fenrir was in the middle of a densely packed courtyard surrounded by tall stone walls with murder holes cut out in regular increments.
Somehow Moredcai had disappeared in only the short delay between Fenrir following him through the portal but he ignored it for now.
There was only one exit, a large wooden gate reinforced with thick metal bands, but it was closed meaning no one was meant to leave. The only other thing of note was the strange stone arch directly opposite of the wooden gate with a strange and complex sigil carved into the keystone.
After making sure he wasn't in immediate danger Fenrir went to look for Freya but a resounding clap froze everyone in place and cut off all sound in the courtyard.
Everyone's eyes were drawn to a large man dressed in a shimmering white robe that fluttered in the wind, "Hello newest students I am Headmaster Yerlo and it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Heros Academy."
The man paused for a moment before he continued his strangely opaque eyes scanning the crowd, "Today you have taken your first step into the world of Magic and began your own unique journey to uncover the potential inside of you.
That is what the Academy has stood for ever since its inception, however we are not here to hold your hand or give you the direct path to freedom. Which is why we take a rather unique approach to how things operate here at the Academy."
Yerlo then waved his hand through the air and Fenrir felt a wave of surprise pass through the crowd that echoed his own as his Foci conjured a new screen.

"What you see in front of you is your School Page, something you will no doubt see everyday while you are here.
While most of what you see is self explanatory I will go over something most of you might not know about which are contribution points or CP. Here at the Academy you must earn your worth.
In order to register for most classes you must meet certain requirements, such as your year, level, reputation, class and or what any other qualifications your teacher deems necessary.
In addition to this most classes will cost a certain amount of CP which brings up the question how do you earn CP?
The most common way is by completing jobs that anyone can post on the Academy Forum. Most of which will be material requests that need to be farmed at the various monster domains such as the one in front of you which are privy to their own restrictions.
Completing these Jobs will also earn you reputation showing that you can be trusted with more complex and demanding tasks.
There is also the Market Place where you can both sell any items that you happen to come in possession of for CP or subsequently buy such items. However the market place is closely monitored and items will have restrictions placed upon them based upon the qualifications mentioned before.
This system has been designed to benefit those who are willing to work hard in order to grow stronger. Only time will tell who amongst you will rise to the top, and time is of the essence so..let us begin."
The Headmaster waved his hand again and a new screen appeared, this one causing even more excitement.

When Fenrir accepted the quest the first window was replaced by a new one that he found far more interesting.
[Market Exchange]
Accept One of the Following
[Rouge Kit]
[Magus Kit]
[Warrior Kit]
[Priest Kit]
Fenrir barely had to think about it as he chose the Rouge Kit. The window disappeared in a flash of light replaced by a small cloudy orb that hovered in the air in front of Fenrir. Taking the orb in his hand it shattered a second later, spilling its contents into Fenrir's hands.
[You have Received: Throwing Knives x5, Monster Only Shortsword x1, Leather Bandolier x1, Steel Heartguard x1]
The rouge kit consisted of a long steel dagger, a bandolier of knives and a slim metal pauldron that also consisted of a chest guard.
Putting on the armor Fenrir was grateful that it wasn't overly clunky as he slung the bandolier of throwing knives across his shoulder and tested the balance of the dagger.
Fenrir had been trained mostly in unarmed combat, but the fundamentals would somewhat translate over and his innate agility and strength was already far above the baseline for his age.
As he finished preparing Fenrir looked around and saw people dressed in armor and robes armed with greatswords and staves had started clustering together clearly intent on tackling the monster domain together.
"Oh there you are!"
Fenrir turned around in time to see Freya break through the crowd and quickly walk over to him, "Do you know how hard it is to find someone your height in a crowd?"
"I just need to eat more meat, you choose the Magus Kit?" Fenrir asked as he looked at Freya who was wearing a cloth robe and clutching a plain wooden staff capped with a large blue crystal orb.
"Well I have no idea how to use a sword and I didn't want to be stuck in the back healing people." Freya replied with a shrug.
"It might have been easier to find a party if you were a healer," Fenrir advised as he turned to face the arch.
Freya blinked, not expecting Fenrir to reject her outright , "I thought we could be a team."
Fenrir adjusted his armor even though everything was in place, "Do you have any type of combat experience?"
Freya huffed as she crossed her arms, "I grew up on a farm, what do you think?"
"It would be more dangerous for the both of us if we went in together. You remember what Mordecai taught us about general team composition." Fenrir explained as he finished putting on his armor.
As he did the sigil on the arch's keystone lit up with a bright blue light and a portal sprang into existence between the stones of the arch.
Freya sighed as she looked from the portal to Fenrir, "If that's what you really want, but… just be safe alright."
Fenrir gave her a small smirk before he turned and confidently walked towards the portal where a small line of people eager to make their way into the domain.
