Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

Chapter 21

Samuel Pov:

I was at the capital getting ready to tell the king how I had lost his son. The second I lost him I sent knights to search and came here to tell the king. It takes around 8 days to get here and back home since I travel 30 miles a day by Carriage.

The king, King Rex, along with his Daughter Aaron, and brother Darius Entered with a pondering face wondering why I requested a meeting. Rex was a Beast-kin Lion, now while they are supposed to be big and muscular, Rex and Aaron are the opposite. Aaron has Blonde hair and blue eyes accompanied by a small and lithe build, one most suited for a warrior, but I wonder what she will end up doing in her future if she continues to grow like that? She is around five foot five currently.

Rex is the ideal man being buff but small in build, he is six foot six with a carefree personality. He also has a Darker blonde hair then Astrid and Black eyes. Now Darius is the final hit, he is around the same height as Rex, but more muscular. Sadly he isn't as smart and strong for some reason but doesn't let that get him down. He has Brown hair, which is unusual, and Red eyes. Rex sat down opposite of me and asked, "To what do I owe this pleasure?"

Since I knew this was coming I just said it plainly, "We were preparing for the monster wave since their was fewer last year there might be more this year. But the day the knights left, Henry, Hannah, and your son Theo Disappeared." At that the room erupted into panic.

"My brother and friends Disappeared?!," Aaron yelled.

"My nephew Disappeared during the worst time of year?!," Darius Questioned.

"HAHAHA!!!!," King Rex laughed at my sentence, as if nothing was a problem.

"This is not a laughing matter brother! Your son went missing when visiting a Margraves son!," Darius yelled at the king.

"Yeah father, think of what I will have to do without Theo!," Aaron complains to her father the king.

"If I am correct, the place the knights are investigating is around the glacier. Specifically the border or mountain range between us, Jones, and the Monster mountains," Rex asks me.

"Yes, why? Are you perhaps thinking about those kids?," I ask remembering something from the past.

"Correct, those kids won't die that easily. I have a friend in Gamerton, or more precise, the leader of Gamerton. He doesn't share his name with anyone other than his most trusted allies. Not even I know his actual name, but he told me that they would be watching out for us," Rex tells me.

"I see, I guess them being who they are they can easily defend a few dozen people," I respond.

"Mind filling us in?," Darius asks as he looks at us and Aaron beside him questioning.

"Ok, ok. Remember how a few years ago we had someone sending us intel on when Jones attacked our allies?," Rex asks Darius to which he nods. "Well, that man has three children, they, were something special. I can't exactly say it since Aaron might share it. But we had a deal going, instead of us giving him anything all he asked was if something happened, we keep his children safe," Rex says.

"Now being what they are they are very adept at survival. We thought they had either been captured or killed by Jones. We had no way of knowing if they were alive since their father, an Earl of Jones, was killed. That was almost two years ago, and the only reason I think they could be alive is because of that friend in Gamerton. The last thing he said was to get some anti thing ready. I don't know what he meant by that so yeah, that is all I know," Rex finishes.

Looking at Aaron and Darius they are surprised, wondering, and scared? "So you are telling me that somehow, three kids, survived in the mountains, for two Years?!," Darius asked Rex.

"Yes, why do you ask?," Rex questions.

"How old are they, if they can survive there they must all be in their late teens and exceptional," Darius mutters.

"They first went in when they were eight, five, and four. Currently they should be nine, seven, and six. The oldest is turning ten in February, The middle child and youngest are turning eight and seven respectively in April. So currently, only one is baptized!," Rex responds shocking both me, Darius, and Aaron.

"You mean to tell me that they survived for over a year and a half in that forest. Who are they, how strong are they, what is their power...," Darius continues to rant on stuff. At the same time Aaron is sitting on the couch looking down. She is probably thinking on how weak she must seem to them.

"Well, I better be getting back," I say getting ready to leave.

"Wait!," I turn around to see it was Aaron that called out surprising everyone. "Can I go with you to see my brother when he returns?," She asks with a blush on her face. I look to Rex and he nods before telling Aaron something to which she nods. "When do we leave?," She asks.

I look to his Majesty Rex and ask, "Well?"

"It will take a bit to get ready for her departure so, wait three days. By then everything should be ready for you guys to go. We have to get the knights ready, we have to get your luggage packed, and other things. Also, Samuel, I suggest you send a rider to alert your town that the princess will be arriving," Rex says to which I nod.

I leave and head back to my mansion. When I arrive I call my butler Charles and have him send a messenger by fast horse to alert the town. I hope that Theo, Henry, and Hannah will be alright.
