Chapter 18
Emma Pov:
According to the knights, the trip to the Hot-springs will take five days from our dungeon house. The reason why we are going there is because it is the closest village even if it is deserted, except for twenty knights. From there they will send a messenger by fast horse to Margrave Samuel. He will send for the Antivenom and hopefpully it will arrive in time.
The antivenom will be coming from the (Kogiyalkop Dungeon), The only place a Basilisk has been spotted. From there it will be sent to the port city of Surapur and travel through the Ocean/bay to Fenika. Fenika is another Port city and the closest to the Margrave. From there they will travel the remaining 60+ miles to us. It should arrive in time to save Jake, I don't know what I would do without him. The total distance is 560 miles, one way, meaning that from the hot-spring it will take over 6 weeks to arrive.
Hunter is the bigger brother but he likes to stay in one place. He will fortify it until nothing can penetrate it and defend. He is not the type to move around a lot, Explore, or go Hunting like Jake. I like to do some of those things with him but I don't know if I will be able to again.
"You all right miss?," The knight next to me asks. I don't know why but apparently back before we were in that glacier, our parents were nobles. My father was apparently a Earl, He had a deal going with Samuel or someone above him. That was he would do something in turn for them protecting us, so me and my brothers have a knight assigned to us.
"Yeah, I am just thinking about how long it will take for the Antivenom to arrive," I say uncomfortably. I am not comfortable with my every move being watched so I am wary, Hunter seems to feel the same. The knight nods and we continue walking, as we do Theo walks over to me.
"So, I have a question for you since I am curious," He asks seemingly nervous to ask it.
"Ok, go ahead," I say giving him the go ahead to ask his question to me.
"So, if I am correct, you guys have been living in those mountains for around one year and 9 months. Hunter is 9, Jake is 7, and you are 6, so are all of your guy's birthdays on the same day?," He asks, and I am not sure.
"I don't know, But to my recollection, Hunters is in February. As for me and Jake, His in April and mine is on the same exact day," I tell him as I give Slimo, who is on my shoulder, and Sunny, who I am riding, some food.
"I see, so then Hunter is turning 10 in three months. You and Jake turn 7 and 8 respectively in around six months. Is that correct?," He asks.
"Yes, I was wanting to figure out our pets ages, but that is not likely. Night is the only one we can assume since Jake found him as a Baby. The slime are impossible to guess since there is nothing to indicate age. As for my wolf, I would assume that she is around two years old, maybe a little younger. The reason for that is she is Night's mate. That and she also seems to act like a young wolf who does not know what she is doing," I say stunning him with my Grammar. In the Glacier, since there was nothing to do, my brothers and I talked a lot. That in turn made my Grammar improve by a lot to a level that no-one else, not even geniuses, can do at my age.
"I see, well looking at the time it is almost night. That means that we will be setting up camp soon, you can sleep with Hannah since she is around your age," Theo says right before the Knight commander comes to a halt.
"We will be setting up camp here, we will be doing the normal arrangement. The only difference this time is Hunter and Jake will be sleeping with Theo and Henry. The other difference is that Emma will be sleeping with Hannah, anyone object?," The Commander calls out to which no-one objects. Seems he is very respected by these men here.
The knights set up tents for the nobles and us as we sit by the fire cooking food with the chef. We are having some Hades Serpent meat as we brought a lot having nothing to do. Hunter is cooking it since I have no knowledge of cooking basically and the Chef doesn't know how to cook it. I wonder why he doesn't know how?
When the Knights are done they all come over to have it without knowing what it is. When they eat it some ask. "What meat is this, it has a godly flavor and is very good!," I guess I should tell them but Hunter stops me.
"I'll tell you tomorrow as I don't want to ruin your appetite," He says as us and the nobles start eating as well. The nobles also think it is good as well so I look over to Hunter and he nods. That means he will be telling Theo and Henry when they go to bed. That means it is my job to tell Hannah tonight.
After dinner we clean up and go to bed, Slimo, Sunny, Night, and Halfdan sleep outside. The reason is the knights would not trust Beasts inside nobles tents. I can understand that, but I don't really know how stuff is in the outside world as I am still young.
When we get in the tent we close the door and Hannah starts changing into her night clothes. "So I got the ok from Hunter so I figured I would tell you what the meat was," I tell Hannah.
"Ok, what was it, because it was great, I would be surprised if it was not well known," She replies as she starts putting on undergarments.
"It was dried Hades serpent meat," I say.
At that time both Hannah and two others, my guess is Henry and Theo, yell, "What!!!!!"
At that one knight rushes in asking. "Is everything alrig—?," He doesn't get to finish as Sunny tackles him, stopping him from seeing anything inside the tent. She did good as the knight was intruding on a young women changing.
"We are changing you bafoon! Get out!," Hannah yells as she cover ourselves and he leaves saying he is sorry.
"But, if it was that good then why is it not used a lot?," I ask her since I am surprised.
"Because, most thought it was poisonous and threw it away, now lets go to bed," She says as I start undressing. "What is that?," she asks noticing something I did not want to reveal.
"Well, I had a defect at birth, so yeah," I say letting her take it in as I start putting on my night clothes. We then retire to bed as Hannah has a blush on her face.
