"Adam! Gather everyone we must leave immediately!"
As soon as I returned, I alerted Adam and everyone else. However, everyone just looked at me with a loathing look. Even Adam seemed weary. I looked around and even saw Mr. Finny looking at me with caution.
'Beavis…'
"No one will follow your orders now Sir Romeo!"
Taking the lead, Ned appeared and started scolding me. The other groups that were suppose to be guarding him were also here.
The crowd parted as Ned walked through. Before I could say anything, Ned attempted to smack me. I caught his hand and pushed him back. He stumbled but his personal guards caught him.
"You filthy traitor! Don't you ever show your face around here again!"
"Yeah! Get out of here!"
"We don't want someone like you around us!"
"You nasty demon lover!"
The crowd joined in and started to berate me. I was so confused. Demon lover? As I pondered, Beavis came from the crowd and spoke to me.
"Don't pretend like you don't know! You filthy demon magic user! I saw that barrier you put up to stop the clusters! You killed my men and then used them as sacrifices for your demonic ritual!"
He had an evil grin as he said that. That rat!
That barrier must have been a demonic spell! Based off of what he said, he must of had the general kill his guys and then activated it. I can't even argue my point. Even though Beavis is an idiot, he's still a noble. His words held more weight than mine.
I had one last hope.
"Mr. Finny! You don't believe them do you?"
Everyone turned to him. Mr. Finny stood there silently. He seemed hesitant to say anything as if he was calculating what the right thing to say was.
"Don't turn to him! He also agrees that you're a nasty demon lover!"
It was Ned that spoke up first. I was shocked. If what he said was true then Mr. Finny already turned his back on me? I could feel my jaw drop. A sense of betrayal washed over me.
Even if we didn't know each other well, I saved his son and even spent time with his family during the festival. I thought we had some amount of trust between us.
"Ahahaha!"
Ned walked forward and grabbed me. He leaned in and whispered to me.
"It was easy you know. I threatened him a bit. Saying that if he sided with you, I would kill him and take his daughter forcefully. I would then have my fun with his wife and sell her off to some whore house. He caved in and betrayed you so quick."
I looked up at him and saw him covering his mouth, I could see the sides of his mouth curling up into a grin. I tried to smack it off his face but all of his guards attacked me.
All of his men kept beating me. The only thing I could do was protect my vitals. I couldn't go up against this many people. Before I knew it, I had lost consciousness.
-
"What should we do young master?"
Ned smiles as he holds in his laugh.
"Leave him. Let him be food for the monster stampede. He'll help us slow them down as we leave."
As Ned returns to his carriage, he stops in front of Mr. Finny.
"Good choice. I'm expecting your daughter to be delivered, bare ass naked to me later. HAHAHAHA!!"
Ned laughs once more, he felt extremely proud of what he did. He got what he wanted in the end.
As Ned enters the carriage, Mr. Finny looks at the unconscious Roman one last time. A feeling of regret and disappointment could be seen on his face.
He felt that the boy was perfect. Who knew that the man he wanted to give his daughter to was a demon lover.
(A/N: sadly, even Mr. Finny felt that a noble's words held more weight than Roman. To him, Roman was nothing more than a commoner who saved his son and his daughter's passing fancy.)
-
As I came to, I realized that I was alone. The carriage was gone, the people had left and even Mr. Finny was no where to be seen.
"Ugh…"
I slowly sit up and look around. Using my vision skill, I could see that the monster stampede would be here any second.
"Shit! Those fuckers left me to die!"
Even though I was tired, I didn't want to die. I didn't fully trust the death system that the game has.
I jump up and moved. Right where I just was, a giant cloud of dust flies up. Once the dust settles, a fire burning wolf walks out. It growls at me and then howls.
"HOWOOOOOOOOO!!!"
In return, many more howls answered its call. Soon after, a huge pack of wolves that looked like they were on fire, comes out of the forest. On their back was some sort of saddle. The saddles were being ridden by goblins. These goblins had charred like skin with red streaks all over their bodies. Their hairs were messy, resembling a burning fireplace.
Using my skill, I could easily identify the monsters.
"Lava Goblins? Blazing Wolves? If I remember correctly, these monsters are found on the Demon Continent? In remote areas too. How did they end up here?"
Somethings definitely not right. First the stampede happens a month earlier than it's suppose to, a vampire seems to be the reason for the stampede instead of the dragon and now there are monsters from other continents here?
Before I could really think about it, the lava goblins started gesturing at me. The blazing wolves they were riding began charging at me. Within a few seconds, the pack was within reach of me.
"Lover's Bijou: Brilliant Clones"
"Ophis Anguis: Poison Storm"
I activated the two Legacies I had on me at the same time. Thanks to my time training, I've learned to use them more efficiently and effectively.
Right as the wolves' closed in on me, two pairs of arms made of gem stones came out of my neck and back. The arm that came out from my neck held onto a sword that looked similar to mine. It slashed at the incoming wolf. The wolf and the goblin riding it was split right down the middle.
The arm that came out of my back was holding onto a weapon similar to my golden dagger. This one used it's free hand to grab the wolf. It would then use the dagger and stab the goblin first. The goblin had no time to react and died. The wolf tried to break free, but my clone had a tight grip on it.
As it tried to wiggle free, the hand holding onto the wolf began to glow. The next moment, the wolf's body was skewered with crystal spikes. The clone had used another ability of the Lover's Bijou Legacy to kill it.
As the clones protected me, I had my focus on something else. I was controlling the poison fog created by the Ophis Anguis Legacy. My goal was to have my clones take out the wolves and goblins while I use the poisonous fog to slow down the other monsters that were about to come out into the clearing.
As I carefully spread out the poisonous fog, I could sense a dangerous aura among the stampede. When I felt this aura, I began to work even faster. This aura was as strong as an Advanced Rank. I couldn't deal with it alone.
-
"Finally!"
My clones had taken care of all of the goblins and wolves. I also finished spreading the poisonous fog around so that the monsters would be affected the moment that they came into the clearing.
I plop down and rest for a moment. I had already deactivated the clones so I could maintain the fog on its own. I thought that with this I could rest for a few minutes but I was wrong.
"ROOOOAAAARRR!!!"
I was hit with a strong gust of wind. I had to take my dagger out and stab it into the ground so that I wouldn't fly away.
I look towards the forest and I almost felt like crying. There was something flying above the forest, just right outside the forest clearing.
It was huge, about the size of two school buses. It had two giant wings that were just as long as it's body. It had a long green neck and a long tail. It's entire body was rotting away, it's inners and it's scales were barely staying attached to it's body.
The creature was a zombified dragon!
