The vampire leader, Edward, ran for his life. As much as Roman's blood interested him, he didn't want to die. Ranks that were Saint or higher were considered to be demi gods! Even those ranks were split into their own categories.
"Why! Why! Why??!"
Right as he was about to start his mission, a Saint had to appear and ruin it. Not only was he about to start his mission, he had just found himself a nice blood mule too!
They were suppose to be on a secret mission. The mission was to destabilize the human continent. They were suppose to attack the small towns, villages and then eventually infiltrate the bigger cities. Now it was all down the drain.
To let out some of his frustration, he decided to turn around and head towards the town he was suppose to infiltrate.
"I can take out my anger on them by slaughtering them all! HAHAHA!!"
Edward felt his blood boil the closer he got to the town. The thought of dyeing the human roads with their own guts excited him.
"Ahhh. The fresh blood, the cries for help! I wonder if anyone will have blood that will taste just as good as that human?"
The excitement drove him to travel even faster than he would. The thought of the Saint and Roman escaping him had really driven him mad. After a while, the town slowly came into view.
"Yes! Look at the humans, how happy they are. Those fools don't even realize that their town is about to be thrown into chaos."
Edward was baffled and relieved. Baffled because the humans seemed so carefree even though different clusters and stampedes were coming their way. Relieved because none of them were weird like Roman.
"No one seems to have the same blood as that human earlier. I should be free to do whatever I want."
Edward walked out from the forest and headed towards the town. Just like the other vampires, he wasn't bothered by the sun. Centuries ago, they would burn up in the sun but now they have conquered the sun long ago. It was just that humans didn't know.
As he approached the gate, he unconsciously let out his killing intent. The excitement was getting to him. As he walked up, the guard stops him.
"Excuse me sir, we must check your ID before you can enter. The mayor's son has had his life threatened so we must take all necessary precautions."
Edward knows that it's just him and these two guards.
'I can just have a little fun now right?'
"SIR! I must ask you again! Give me your ID or you will not be allowed in!"
Edward was taken back. No one ever dares to yell at him. He had his hands behind his back so he drew his claws out. He walks up close to the guard.
"Of course sir, sorry for the wait. I have it… right… HERE!"
He reached out with his claws and aimed for the guard's neck. The guard lets out a shocked look and tries to step back. As he does so, Edward moves even quicker. It turns out that the vampire was faster. He takes his bloody claws and turns around. He wanted to frightened the other guard with his friend's blood.
However, as he turns around, the guard was no longer standing there. He looked back towards the dead guard but that guard was also missing. He glances in the direction of the town but only saw a forest. The town was no where to be found.
"What? Why?"
He spun in a circle. After checking his surroundings, he confirmed that this was the clearing where he had just fought Roman.
"Why am I here? Was it an illusion? If that's the case then…"
As he came to his own conclusion, he heard someone clapping. He turned around and saw no one but he knew where to look.
Edward looked straight up and saw him. The old man. The higher Rank Saint that had suddenly showed himself.
Edward felt his body weakened. He wanted to run but he couldn't, he wanted to beg for mercy but he couldn't speak. He could only sit in a seiza position and wait for the Saint to move first.
The Saint was an old man. He was wearing what seemed to be a butler suit. He had a white goatee and short white messy hair. He carefully floated down as if he was an angel from heaven.
Next to him was the unconscious Roman. The man was using some sort of magic to keep him afloat. When Edward saw this he couldn't help but cry.
'How bad is my luck?? That human had a Saint as his guardian!?!'
In order to salvage what he could, Edward tried to assert his own power.
"Excuse me Sir Saint, that man belongs to me. I'm sure you wouldn't want to make an enemy of…-"
The aura of the Saint began choking Edward. He wheezed and clawed at his throat as he tried to get air. After a minute, he could finally get fresh air.
*loud coughing noises*
"You dare!…"
"That's enough!"
The old man's voice boomed causing Edward to stop.
"Thank you, now there's no need to introduce yourself. I know who you are. Let me go first."
The old man walked up to Edward, he had an aura of grace and power with every step he took.
"My name isn't necessary, but those who know me call me…-"
'Tch! The arrogance! I'll show this human! He should of thought twice about interviening if he knew I was the prince!'
That's right. Edward was the prince, specifically the youngest prince of the current Vampire King. He joined this secret mission in hopes to gain his father's favor and from there he would work with the nobles to become the new crown prince.
As Edward thought about what he was going to do to the old man, that very same man smacked him. He looked back up at him in disbelief. He was a prince! How could someone touch him?
"Did you not hear me boy? They call me The Ghostly Raven."
Edward froze when he heard the name. He looked up at the old man, as if to ask if that was the truth.
The old man smiles and waved at him.
"Long time no see young prince. How long has it been? 300 years?"
If anyone had saw his smile, they would have thought that he was a cute old grandpa, but to Edward, this man meant a certain death.

300 years ago. Location: Human Continent
"Big brother! Where are we going?"
"Listen little Edward. We're going to the village on the out skirts. We're going to take all their women and feast on their blood tonight!"
The little boy, Edward looked up at then crown prince. He has forgotten his name due to time but he could never forget his sinister smile. That was the same smile that he wanted to have when he grew up.
As the excitement between the brothers grew, the carriage they were in came to a sudden halt. The crown prince stuck his head out the window.
"What's going on! Who dares stop the crown prince?!"
As the prince sticks his head out, he sees a tall old man. He wanted to yell more but he then realized how quiet it had gotten. He looked around and saw the dead guards laying around. The crown prince began screaming.
Little Edward was frightened and tried to help his brother.
"Big brother! What's wrong?! The carriage hasn't stopped, what's wrong with you??"
In front of Edward, the crown prince began shaking and crying, he pulled out his dagger and put it up to his throat.
"Please… don't kill anyone else."
The crown prince then looked at little Edward.
"Edward… remember to stay on the right path. Don't ever forget this, or you will also meet the Ghostly Raven. He will have to take you with him if you do something bad."
He didn't even let Edward say anything. He plunged the dagger into his throat. Edward just stood there shakened. The final words and his dead eyes haunted him forever. The guards came rushing in and questioned Edward but he didn't say anything.
That was because in his eyes, he was alone now. The guards, the crown prince. Everyone was gone. An old man had appeared and made himself at home inside the carriage. Edward couldn't even look at him. The old man smiles.
"My name is unnecessary, but those who know me call me the Ghostly Raven. I specialize in illusions and information gathering."
