Security Chief Micheal Casey and a team of his highest-ranking officers shuttled the commandos off to the base brig and detention center immediately after they had been apprehended. Ten minutes later, a couple of the commandos began to regain consciousness and the base personnel were to begin the preliminary interrogations.
Hawkeye and Patriot made their way past a throng of personel into the complexes security and detention wing. Since the break-in, the entire base had been sent into total security lockdown, and had become a madhouse.
Micheal Casey, chief of base security, met them inside, "So far we haven't been able to get much out of them. Go ahead and take your best shot."
The two Avengers were then led into Casey 's office which housed one of the commandos, guarded by a team of four security guards.
No matter what questions or how aggressively they interrogated, the prisoner had only one response: "Schmidt Conrad. 776K4-6617G." In the prisoners thick German accent.
After a few rounds of questioning, Casey chimed in, "yeah, that's all we got out of the other ones too, except the last one's name was Hermann Volkmann, and his number is 885K3-7381G."
"Its obviously a military service number. My grandfather told me about those from his service in the 2nd world war." Patriot stated.
"Yes, but weve been checking the records, there is no record of a 776K4-6617G, or a 885K3-7381G. In any armed forces of the world. Weve even checked the Warsaw pact nations, and the serial numbers just dont match any existing format." Casey answered.
"What if it really is over 70 years old? There really is no record for a number or even an army that uses such a format for its serial numbers in the computers." Hawkeye then pondered outloud.
