Another hour had passed since Drey and Melissa's conversation started, Deiamos had finally returned from retrieving the water. He came back with two big burgundy buckets that were made of wood.
"You seem to have been chatting wonderfully, we have to go to the medical room to start the treatment." He said as he walked through the couches and got in front of Graison.
"Where's the medical room?" Melissa asked as Deiamos started tapping his feet in front Tulpar.
"Murrr." Graison was grumbling as slowly stood with drool leaking from his lips.
"You weren't doing anything, what are you complaining about? The medical room is upstairs." Deiamos said as he turned, giving Graison enough time to wipe his drool on Deiamos' shoulder. "You dirty bastard." Deiamos said with a disgusted look on his face as Graison looked away from him and walked towards Melissa.
"I'm gonna stay here with Kyle since he still sound asleep." Drey said as he stood up to help Melissa get on Graison's back.
"Alright." Deiamos said as he made sure the saliva didn't drip into the bucket. "We'll be directly above this room." He said as he pointed upwards.
There was a door in the middle of the room, next to a desk just 15 feet to the right of Kyle. It was the only door in there besides the glass door. Melissa and Deiamos left through that door, and entered into a large corridor they were at the end of, it was dark but they were to see perfectly. Since Vampires can naturally see in the dark.
"This way." Deiamos said as he looked at all of the walls.
The walls were mainly purely white but there were red streaks going all over the wall as if it was trying to mimic electricity's pattern. There were also 5 other doors in the corridor which were greatly spaced apart. There was also a thick strip of red carpet on the floor that didn't cover the entire floor but went along the hallway.
"Do you know of the divine age?" Deiamos asked as he swiped his hand across the wall to see the dirt on his fingers.
"No, I don't." Melissa said as she tried to remember ever hearing of that.
"It's the age when the Great Lords walked the lands of Terra Principium, when everything was created and put into order. That was centuries ago and we've had a handful of Kings after the Great one. But every King ruled in this castle, never changing anything. Keeping it as graceful as he did. I can't tell you every detail but there is an archive with plenty of books of the Divine Age." Deiamos said as the finally past one of the rooms.
"An archive?" Melissa asked in a surprised tone.
"Yes, there is three libraries. The first one for those residing in the castle, a second one for the Royal family and the third library is for the ruler of the kingdom, the crowned descendant is the only one permitted to enter that room." Deiamos explained. "The king really loved recording his journey, it's one of the traits that's been passed down through generations." He explained as he looked at everything.
"I'm guessing that journey is what's locked behind the Royal and Crowned archives have a his journey." Melissa said as they walked passed all of the rooms.
"Only portions, most of King Alucard's journey was recorded on scrolls for the people to read, to know their king. Portions of it was hidden for his descendants." Deiamos said as they finally reached the end of the corridor.
At the end of the corridor, they entered the entrance hall of the castle. The thick red strip of carpet split as one path went up an imperial staircase. The other path went further down an entrance hall, leading down another corridor, there was a faint aroma of blood creeping out of the hall.
"Hold onto him tight, these stairs are a bit steep." Deiamos said as he put his foot on the first step.
Melissa grabbed Graison's harness just as he started walking up the stairs. She looked up to the ceiling and saw a large thick line that resembled the trunk of a tree with the red roots that connected to the red streaks on the walls. The red trunk extended beyond the first floor ceiling.
"Then it's.. this way." Deiamos said as they made it up the left side of the staircase before she realized it.
The upstairs was large, but the upstairs was larger, and unbelievably dark, making their scotopic vision feel nearly useless. Deiamos pulled a stick that was covered in a thick grey rope from one of the pouches. He used one of the buttons on his uniform to strike rope and light it on fire.
"This entire castle is powered on a single circuit that can only be activated by a royal member." Deiamos said as he put the button back on his uniform.
"So we need to wait for Kyle to wake up." Melissa said as Graison followed him into the west corridor.
"It feels like ages have passed since I last came here. Ever since I was a child I've been visiting the castles once as Prince Kraios' friend, then as his royal retainer. How nostalgic those times were, unbelievable how fast time moves on." Deiamos said as Graison rubbed his head on him to try and comfort him.
"You were close friends with the Prince?" Melissa asked as she saw him pet Graison.
"Yes, we've were close childhood friends. At that time, although it may be presumptuous, I felt a brotherhood I never shared with anyone. So as he came of age as a Prince, I did what I can to be a perfect retainer for him so he wouldn't have to shoulder any burden alone. I felt it wrong to abandon him because of those duties so as he started his royal training, I had a knight train me. He taught me the basics greatly, but it reached a stage where I would only improve the experience. But by that time I was already his retainer." He reminisced almost as he was those days again. "Those days the prince and I visited the medical room constantly because of our training." Deiamos finished with a smile on his face.
Melissa could feel Deiamos's comfort through the castle walls, even his sound of relief in his voice. It makes her wonder what Kyle will do.
Back in the Alfheim Kingdom, past the Noblemen's Quarters, there were a dozen mansions all spreaded around the castle, each mansion belonging to a member of the royal family. Beautiful white grass that was growing in the empress' plains was also growing along the bars of the gates, reaching half of its height.
There were Watchmen guarding these gates as well, patrolling every area. As they were guarding, they saw six elven soldiers climbing over the gates. Amongst all of those elves, one of them had long black hair hanging out of her helmet, reaching down to her butt.
The six elves were moving quickly, from the very tip of one mansion, they jumped to the next. Not making a single sound despite as they made their way to the castle.
Then just as they made it to the mansion closest to the castle, every elven soldier besides the long haired one, went over the moat separating the castle from this area. The soldier landed in the
castle's flower garden.
Quickly getting distracted as she crouched down to smell the flowers.
"So you've returned." King Fusis said as he appeared to the right of the soldier.
Startling her, she got up frantically before realizing who it was. She immediately took the helmet off, showing the rest of her silky straight hair shining with only the moonlight
"I didn't see you there, Grandpa, I thought you would be asleep by now." She said while shaking her hair to adjust its look.
"You need to learn how to stop panicking so much, Kersees." King Fusis said as he walked up to her.
"Well you need to stop popping out of nowhere. You gotta teach me how to do that." Kersees said as some of her hair flopped in front of her face.
"It'll come to you. Are you gonna stay out here, if not, we can discuss your report over dinner. The maids put dishes to the side for us." King Fusis said as he patted her head while walking past her.
"They did! Ooohhh, I'm so hungry." Kersees said excitedly as she turned around and started following him. "Wait, what did they make? I'm not going to eat it if it's some nasty soup." She said as stopped walking.
"I don't know.. we need to go see for ourselves to find out." King Fusis said with his hand on his chin.
The flower garden was kinda shaped as a maze, multiple flowers were growing around the garden. It seemed to be the only place where flowers of different species were growing.
They walked around a paved path until they reached a wide staircase with only a handful of steps that led up to one of the Alfhem castle's garden doors; it was an indoor garden which led into the castle.
"You know, I always wondered, why can our soil grow all of these plants?" Kersees asked as they walked through the indoor garden.
"Empress Haides has been chasing something she can't obtain ever since the Divine. I enjoy the beauty of it so making sure they live is important." King Fusis said as he looked at the flower as they walked past them.
"Well, I think you've been doing a good job. They are good and healthy." Kersees said as if she was approving of them.
".." It caught him off guard before a smile started to form. "Thank you." King Fusis said happily as he hugged her while they walked up to the door.
They left the indoor garden room, which was the only room inside of a lit up hallway. They made it to the kitchen after a while to have the maids warm up the food from earlier and bring it to the diner room.
"You are dismissed for the night, I'll deal with the dishes." King Fusis said as he looked at the maid, who was dark skin with black blindfolds with an unknown symbol printed into it.
"..Thank you greatly, milord." The maid said as she bowed before leaving the room.
"So, you wanna know what happened ??" She said excitedly as she sat in front of two dishes with metal covers over them.
"Yes, tell me." He said as he removed the metal cover.
