Chapter 54 - You’re the Prince? / No?

In the meanwhile as Brieola treated Kyle in his temporary slumber state, the retainers were inside of the castle. They were all inside the medical room. Despite Kyle's disappearance, they were all reading books in complete silence.

*Thump* Deiamos closed his book roughly before picking his head up quickly. "I feel like I'm the only one, who is worried here. I mean it's odd that you aren't able to sense the location of the prince as his personal retainers." He said almost shouting but kept his cool either way.

"We covered as much ground as we could with two people. In top of that, this is Kyle. He may be a child but he's more tactful and smarter than the average adult." Deiamos turned a page. "And it's like you said, if we can't find him that means he doesn't want to be found." He finished without taking eyes off the book.

"Right, just because he doesn't want to be found. Doesn't mean he's running away, I don't think he'd let himself." Melissa said as she looked at him.

"Hmm… I suppose you are right. To doubt the last prince, I must've skip plenty of my teachings. He doesn't seem like the one to just abandon his home." Deiamos said although he still worried.

"Relax, he's bound to come back eventually." Drey said as before he felt Melissa's glare putting a hole in temple.

Only Melissa knew exactly what Drey meant, Deiamos had the idea Kyle was eventually going to come back because this place is his home. However that wasn't the case, he'd come back because he wouldn't be able to leave Drey and Melissa here after everything he dragged them through. And only Kyle's trusted retainer knew that.

Simultaneously they both felt something click in their mind. It was almost as if something told them.

[The young prince has finally left his slumber.]

Reisun figured before they introduced themselves and started answering and asking questions, it's best if Kyle was too fully dressed himself so Brieola could also take part.

That's what Kyle did, he picked an outfit out from the clothes Reisun gave him. The pile of clothes were different compared to the ones he's used to, he realized Reisun and Brieola's clothes were similar to this.

They seem to be wearing three pieces. The first is the outer piece which is a wool tunic that goes over the shoulders and hangs down to lower part of his back, the second is a cotton tunic that acted more as a long sleeve shirt which was tucked into third piece. The third piece is cotton pants which were loose and slight baggy given more than enough mobility for them to move however they wanted.

Kyle was able to spot these details from his little talk with Reisun. "The designs and styles of these outfits aren't the same but they're all the same color, this should help me " Kyle thought as he picked out the clothes.

He put on a grey wool tunic that seemed to be a one piece set for his body, reaching from his shoulders to his ankles. The cuffs had red effigies that seemed to be pushing dots, on the back was a large wheel with handles that aligned with his limbs.

Kyle put a white wool tunic that went over his neck and wrapped around his shoulders.

"My shoes and clothes are gone… I'm gonna have to go around with bare feet." Kyle thought as he looked at his toes before leaving the room.

However he was met by a dozen vampires, from old to young. They were all staring at him. "Don't worry about him, everything is fine." Reisun said as he put his hand on Kyle left shoulder.

Which made Kyle flinch as he didn't even notice him get that close. "Come, this way." Reisun said as he walked to a set of stairs that were sitting in the far right corner of the floor.

As they walked up to the next floor Kyle noticed the voices started to fade as if their voices were gradually getting further.

"Sorry about that, My wife's has a few patients waiting to see her. She'll be down there for now." Reisun said as he pushed some of his hair behind his head.

"It's fine." Kyle said as they reached the top of the stairs. The floor had one large red strip of carpet that led from one end of the floor to the other.

Next to the stairs was a round wooden table with three legs and three chairs, one of the chairs had two cushions lying on the seat. About 10 feet away from the stairs, there were two rooms on both sides of the carpet and one of those two rooms was slightly open, showing nothing as there was no light. At the end of the carpet was the third room, it was apparent that this was the main bedroom.

"Your appearance is definitely different now that you've dried off… let's see." Reisun as he walked to a wooden table that was just a few feet across from the stairs. He picked up the Book of Birth Brieola put here earlier. Then he suddenly stopped and turned to Kyle.

"I almost forgot. I am Reisun Yveloch, welcome to my home." Reisun said as he looked Kyle in his eyes.

"Oh-… My name is Kyle Gorge, thank you for helping me." Kyle said as he held his hand out.

Reisun slightly tilted his head in curiosity as he didn't know of this gesture but he understood it might have been one of respect. He met Kyle's hand with his own.

"Kyle? I've never heard of one like yours before, what does it mean?" Reisun said before he grabbed the book.

"I'm not sure, it was a name my mother and father thought of. I never really thought it had a meaning." Kyle thought as looked at the book.

The book was thicker than a dictionary, coated in a deep red color with one white stripe along the top of the book. There was a different language on the cover, a lexicon he'd never seen before but can understand it perfectly.

"The book of birth." Kyle read in his head as remembered. "This must be a gift from the King… or Mother. I've never thought of it until now but I can understand the Elves and Vampires' languages clearly." He thought.

"Of course it has a meaning, all Mothers give their kids a name for a reason. My mother named me because she saw that I would be a strong man that can bring hope to others." Reisun explained as he flipped through the pages.

"Is that the meaning of your name?" Kyle asked as he looked at him.

"No, my name has many meanings but my mother chose one. "The man who stands in the light." Is the meaning of my name and over the years, I made the decision to keep that meaning. " Reisun said as he looked back at him.

His words left an impression on Kyle, one that would give him inspiration.

"That's amazing." Kyle said almost as if he couldn't get any other words out.

"I'm sure, your name has a meaning. After all, someone as strong as you wouldn't be moving without one." Reisun said as he stopped flipping the pages.

"I wonder…" Kyle thought as he saw Reisun looking back and forth from the page to him. "Is there something wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing, I see there was a reason for your trip to the Kingdom. You match the Great King's features, so you must be a part of the Royal family, a direct descendant." Reisun said as he closed the book.

"…I am." Kyle said hesitantly as his eyes shifted.

"We must head to the chief." Reisun said as he put the book on the table. "I need to change my attire." He said as he walked to one of the rooms.

"…" Kyle didn't say much and looked back at the book.

It was still open and he wondered what it was that Reisun read to convince him that he was a part of the royal family.  Though he never read this language, he understood its lexicon as if it was his second language.

He skimmed through the page as he looked for anything until the start of a paragraph caught his attention.

[From the perspective of the people:

'The citizens of Blutheim praised and cheered the King and his family. They stood proud amongst them, the everlasting grace they radiated gave the citizens life.

There was a piece of the King's blood in every vampire so in a way they were, too, considered the children of Alucard but his offspring inherited more than just his blood. They inherited his ruby eyes that were the same color as the river of life when Divine Twins shine on it, his white locs that can be seen the purity and lastingness of life, and beauty that bewitched lady death.

Though his 6 siblings only shared a striking resemblance to the King, they were too respected, not as much even after they were given regions to govern over.

And the family of Alucard is the very epitome of royalty and vigor from their blood to their spirit but even they look up to him with respect and unconditional love. Following every tradition he set.

The Great King is revered and respected by many even those who have abandoned life, worship the earth, and safeguard the forgotten language. For he is the man who was crowned, King of life and the beauty it brings.

Thus when he has passed, he will greet you in the afterlife for he awaits at the gates. And the only piece he will leave behind for us, is the Kingdom and the royal family.

The title of the former belongs solely to the offspring of King Alucard for they hold all that he has left.]

"Where did all that love go when he died?" Kyle asked before he heard one of the room doors behind him open.

"I've brought one of my wife's sandals for you, I think you'll be able to fit them. Even though they're for women, they are better than nothing." Deiamos said as he walked out of the room in a light armor set.

Deiamos' armor was incredibly light, as there was nothing covering upper body besides three golden rings that wrapped around his neck. There was a thin chain connecting those rings together, on the bottom of the three rings was two chains on each side of his neck. These chains were connected to a golden vambrace, which only wrapped around his forearms. He also had golden shin guards which were put on top of red balloon pants. He had half of his hair tied up behind his head with a red string which was long enough to hang alongside his hair.

"Come." Reisun said as he tossed him wooden sandals with three teeth converging in the middle to form a circle, each tooth was equal in length. "Didn't expect my daughter to find a Prince

"Alright." Kyle said as he caught the sandals, feeling better about not having to walk barefoot.
