Chapter 15 - Caught between three men

***A week later….***

Delilah got up early on Saturday to clean her apartment. She went for a walk after she finished to clear her mind. Although the last few weeks with Kim had been incredible, she still felt something was missing. She went to the lake and sat on a bench, taking in the fresh morning air. Her eyes were closed in thought.

"Delilah?"

When she opened her eyes, there stood in front of her the dashing Doctor Morian.

"Doctor Morian?"

"Fancy seeing you here, I just got done running and came here to think and to my surprise, I see my favorite patient."

Delilah smiled.

"Do you mind if I join you?"

"Sure," Delilah said as she scooted over for him to sit beside her.

"This view is beautiful," he exclaimed.

"Yes, it is, what are the odds we keep running into each other" Delilah replied, taking in his features. Morian was bewitchingly gorgeous, She noticed his every gesture, the way he licked his lips before he spoke, the sly smile that curved his mouth. His intense eyes, which made her feel vulnerable and naked every time he looked at her. He made her senses sing, her pulse race and her heart pound as thought it would escape her rib cage.

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you were stalking me" Morian responded with a charming smile as he turned to face her. He looked at her lips, then at her eyes. If only he could offer her his heart instead of these tedious human mating rituals. It took every ounce of self-control he had not to claim her as his. He imagined her body beneath his, and he craved the taste of her flesh. He was smitten by the way her beautiful ebony skin glistened and glowed in the sunlight during this lifetime. He'd sculpt her into the stars if he could. As a result, every being in the universe would bear witness to his love. Mortala was his immortal life's love. He wished he could tell her how he had known her for eons, how he had guarded her through every lifetime. Every time she died, he waited anxiously to accompany her into the darkness of death, making her transition beautiful and safe. He always chose the world in which she was reincarnated. He chose her family, her body, and even her astrological sign to ensure that her reincarnations were filled with good fortune, beauty, and a solid foundation.

Delilah blushed; Morian was wearing shorts, trainers, and a black t-shirt. His unique eyes looking into hers made her forget about the problem that had brought her to the lake this morning. He was criminally attractive, she could barely breathe or string together a complete sentence.

"Do you come here frequently, Delilah?"

"Yes," Delilah said, her gaze fixed on the water in front of them. Observing the little ducks as they swam and played in the lake.

"Are you troubled by something?"

"Nothing that I can't handle," Delilah replied with a smile, he sensed something troubled her deeply.

"I don't know much about you or your life or the struggles that plague your mind, but know that you have a friend in me," Morian said, holding her hand and looking into her eyes. He raised her hand to meet his lips and delicately kissed her hands; his eyes met hers at the same moment his lips touched her hand. This experience enthralled her and caused her heart to flutter like a thousand pigeons.

Delilah looked at her hand in his and then into his eyes; there was that familiarity she felt towards Morian, as if something about his energy drew her in. She wondered if it was just lust or that his lovely green and brown eyes were fixed on her, or the tender way he held her hand.

Morian leaned in, looking into her eyes, then to her lips, his jaw clenched in desire. Delilah closed her eyes and surrendered to the volcano of desire that erupted between them. Their lips made contact, and his tongue entered her mouth, exploring her. Delilah let out a soft gasp, accepting and reciprocating everything he did. Morian's breathing became more rapid, a low growl emitted from his throat, and his hand gripped the back of her head, positioning her face properly for the kiss. This kiss drove him insane, and he repeatedly claimed her lips. Delilah willingly let him because she craved him as much as he craved her. Delilah pulled away from the kiss after a few moments.

"I'm sorry," she said quietly.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." "I shouldn't have taken such liberties," Morian replied.

"No, it's not you," Delilah said, pulling her hand away from his.

"It was nice seeing you again, but I cannot do this, Morian," she said as she stood up.

"It's fine, see you around," Morian said, smiling.

He stood there watching her walk away.

***The evening of Kim Dae Jung's award ceremony***

Delilah was getting ready when Kim texted to let her know he was on his way, and she couldn't find the jewelry she had decided to wear. She frantically searched her closet. She picked up a box that had fallen out. It was the jewelry she had received from the secret admirer a few weeks before. The emerald stones shone brightly, captivating her eyes as she picked it up in a trance.

"This will have to suffice." She accessorized with the emerald necklace and matching earrings.

She made her way outside the house to Kim, who was waiting in front of his car.

"Oh my God."

"What?" Delilah laughed.

"How did I get so lucky?" Kim asked, reaching for her.

Her red dress was spaghetti strapped and exposed the skin on her back. Her gorgeous dark brown skin glowed with a golden bronze tint. The dress accentuated her beautiful curvy silhouette, and the front of the dress gave her breasts a nice lift, teasing the fullness of her cleavage.

Her beautiful afro hair was a poofy cloud with tiny glittering stones and a rose flower accessory close to her ear.

Delilah smiled at Kim, who appeared to be under some sort of spell.

"I might be too preoccupied fighting off men tonight to pay attention to this award ceremony." Kim was made fun of.

"You're so dramatic," Delilah said, nudging him at his side.

Kim was dressed in a midnight blue tuxedo suit and a white shirt. To match his shirt, he wore white shoes. His dark hair was cut low and clean, and his dark brown eyes complemented his outfit; he was delectable.

They got into their car and drove away.

When they arrived at the hotel where the ceremony was being held, the concierge directed them to the banquet hall.

When Delilah and Kim walked in, all eyes were drawn to them; they were a strikingly beautiful couple. And their attire exuded opulence and luxury.

Kim smiled; tonight was his big night; he was being recognized for all of his hard work and dedication, and he was accompanied by the woman of his dreams.

"Are you ready, my love?" Delilah asked, looking up at his face.
